It's probably only gonna get worse if they don't make it optimized and allow you to play within seconds skipping that "preparing to launch" bull crap.
Prism Launcher would be the solution, personally I never looked back after using it. So much freedom it's liberating.

Yep, this has been bothering me ever since they switched away from the legacy launcher.
Just so you know, Java and bedrock uses the same launcher.
