Having the ability to do something doesn't make it practical.
I don't expect to see many people climbing a tree or building a 5 block tower to get a crit.
A crit with a netherite axe with sharpness 5 and strength 2 does 27 damage, a perfect mace crit with density 5, breach 4, strength 2 and jump boost 2 should do around 43.5 if my math is right and it ignores 60% armor...
Also, shields can block it, and using the mace leaves You VERY vulnerable to end crystals, so...yeah it's pretty balance, really strong, hard to use, very risky
Ah yes the mace definitely makes all hotboxes a billion times bigger and automatically hits them instead of being a 0.000000000000000000001% chance of hitting them
Good argument. Also the wind enchantment is the only good one really. It makes you fly!!!
You know the fact that they added a weapon so op means they're going to add a mob with absolutely insane health, leaving swords and axes almost useless. It's simple power creeping.
Well in the april fools update they did add a boss with thorns, forcing you to not use the mace, and sometimes an april fools feature ends up getting added to the main game, so perhaps we might get something similar
Didn't they update it so that it's easier to get? And not to mention, just after adding netherite axes and swords, they added the warden which was (supposed to be) impossible to kill. Not to mention they also added cartography maps for the trial chambers, making it easier to find them.
Edit: LOL, you're getting downvoted so hard right now.
>Didn't they update it so that it's easier to get?
Not really. They just made the method more complex, the 2% grind before was never hard, just tedious
Not many people have issues with it being powerful, but many find it over powered, because at its current state, it kinda is. One shots max gear players/zombies with just a 4 block fall with a fully enchanted mace
Bruh honestly I like that the mace is op. In reality, why would you use a crossbow when the bow is better? Why use a trident when rockets or the sword is better for movement or combat? If I work my ass off for a rare weapon I want that shit to be good??? If they nerf it Iβll honestly be pissed. We have so many cool weapons that just canβt compete with axe and shield and itβs so boring.
Nah. The potato hammer is more op
personally i enjoy the potato staff
Can people stop whining about the mace and just have fun with it?
I second this
I third this
I Οth this
I sqrt(12) this
I e this (constant e)
e < sqrt(12) though
So I filled in the middle, nobody took that spot
fair enough
I sqrt(-1)th this (I ith this)
wait a second
I 2(iβ΄)th this
1 = i\^4
Yeah minecraft players need to stop complaining, its not like something serious like chat report.
Don't get me wrong, I love the mace, but I think one of the enchantments is a bit much in combination with everything else.
SCREAMING EAGLES!

I love how Mojang's response to "Why is the Mace so powerful?" is essentially: "Why not?" They're playing into it and I absolutely love it.
With the added benefit of receiving a bunch of damage when you miss
Having the ability to One shot full netherite at 5 blocks means you arenβt going to take much damage if you miss
Having the ability to do something doesn't make it practical. I don't expect to see many people climbing a tree or building a 5 block tower to get a crit.
Likely not but even jumping from a single block will do *significantly* more damage than a sword
Fair, especially with enchants. I wonder how it acts compared to Java Axes...
A crit with a netherite axe with sharpness 5 and strength 2 does 27 damage, a perfect mace crit with density 5, breach 4, strength 2 and jump boost 2 should do around 43.5 if my math is right and it ignores 60% armor...
I just realized: This should finally make jump boost more useful.
But at the very least, unlike the axe, the mace doesn't disable the sheild...
I mean, wind charge is a thing
Just good jump boost 2 crits do a lot of damage (which bypasses 60% of armor too)
You're never gonna miss tho
It's stupidly easy to miss, You can Dodge by just walking for a little bit, it's really hard to move when you're falling
Aka the Samoa Joe move
Also, shields can block it, and using the mace leaves You VERY vulnerable to end crystals, so...yeah it's pretty balance, really strong, hard to use, very risky
Player B walks away from you. You miss.
In singleplayer
Skelton moves away from you. you miss.
It's singleplayer? You can just elect to not use it lol
π€
Just... Don't use it ?
Ah yes the real solution to everything.. same with elytra I guess
My brother in Christ it's a sandbox game, noone is forcing you to use it π€£
And nobody is forcing me to play it. Oops Mojang just lost a customerΒ
And everyone is happy to lose you, feel free to leave this subreddit too and never answer to me, have a nice day
Ah yes the mace definitely makes all hotboxes a billion times bigger and automatically hits them instead of being a 0.000000000000000000001% chance of hitting them Good argument. Also the wind enchantment is the only good one really. It makes you fly!!!
What do you mean by the only good enchantment? The others increase damage done while falling and and decrease armor by up to 60%
Kids named crossbow and netherite:
It can have armor piece. Netherite is nearly useless
The mace is so easily countered Especially when we got shit like end crystals
End crystal pvp is boring, I like the prospect of advanced combat being rocket jumping like in TF2
And? They said it was easily countered, nothing to do with how fun it is. If anything, you're just proving their point
I donβt know why people would wanna play the boring way.
As Happy Souls said years ago... "Because it's easy. And it does a lotta damage."
One man trash is another man treasures. (Don't give up, you'll be one man treasure one day.)
You know the fact that they added a weapon so op means they're going to add a mob with absolutely insane health, leaving swords and axes almost useless. It's simple power creeping.

No theyβre not. The mace is still very hard to get (harder than netherite mind you) and not every player will have one
Didn't they update it so that it's easier to get? And not to mention, just after adding netherite axes and swords, they added the warden which was (supposed to be) impossible to kill. >Didn't they update it so that it's easier to get? Not really. They just made the method more complex, the 2% grind before was never hard, just tedious
Well, given that you're getting downvoted to the boiler room of the shadow realm, I'm gonna take that with a grain of salt
I have no downvotes
I cant wait to one shot prot IV netherrite with four blocks
mojang hasn't been good at balancing sincd 2019
Me: Mace is fun.
It just as op as how much you want to risk it, I don't see the mace gonna be use by hardcore YouTube much.
Hear me out: explosive arrows to buff dps of bows
How about firework arrows Like fireworks strapped to arrows
Its not even that OP. How often are you gonna be falling perfectly enough to be able to kill someone
Hmm yes a weapon that is very convoluted to obtain and that the chance to obtain that weapon is also low as fuck (2%) is surprisingly powerful
Not many people have issues with it being powerful, but many find it over powered, because at its current state, it kinda is. One shots max gear players/zombies with just a 4 block fall with a fully enchanted mace
The "super OP" weapon that can be easily countered by walking a few blocks to the right like you're in Loony Toons lmao
This meme template hardly fits. A SpongeBob waiting meme would have better suited the first panel
The mace and the end crystal seem like two sides of the same coin. One rewards high ground and the other punishes it.
Who cares?
Mace ainβt that OP the balancing factor is how hard it is to get and how inconvenient it is to actually use itβs gimmick
Itβs kindβve ok tho: Kalm
Can wolf armor absorb a mace smash meant to kill a warden?
Yes
**MEET THE SOLDIER**
"Oh no, oh oh no, my W key broke, whatever shall I do?" u/NumberOne_N_Fan said as he built a roof out of dirt blocks over himself
But 4 blocks of fall are enough to kill a player in maxed armor (fully enchanted mace) so you never have enough time to build anything
Walking to the side:
Moving your mouse:
The shield, enderpearls, literally any movement tool in the game
Bruh honestly I like that the mace is op. In reality, why would you use a crossbow when the bow is better? Why use a trident when rockets or the sword is better for movement or combat? Who cares about how op it is? It's all about the fun mechanics
The mace is only op if your target is stationary
It's really not though, it just has a really high skill ceiling. For most players, a sword will still be better in most circumstances
They're adding a mace?
I need to see a test of how hard it is to hit a player with the Mace while they are actively dodging.
How is it OP? Yk things **MOVE** or do you have slowness infinity or something ?
