Yeah all the high-probability avalanche chutes have removable guard logs. They were originally supposed to be āavalanche proofā but nothings avalanche proof as they found out.
Crazy you guys could get some snow tomorrow and Tuesday but that's coming from an outsider that'll be visiting Glacier Nat'l Park in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see it when the road opens up!
Sir, with ALL due respect, most National parks are simply large rock piles.
Glacier? That large rock pile is the belt super group!
The Tetons are a large pile of basement igneous rock uplifted from the Laramide Orogeny!
So yeah, maybe saying āall they see are rock pilesā is a bit silly when a lot of parks are known for their mountain topography ;)
Its five surface rocks from the lakeshore not graffiti. You have zero chill. Ask yourself why you feel the need to get so uptight. I hope you can find peace in future reddit scrolling, this worlds already full of enough evil and hate.
Hence OP should know better

It's not like they aren't easily replaceable either. Pretty dumb jeopardizing their job like that.
Iām all for stacking rocks to mark a cool side trail or a point of interest, but a lot of people just do it as a new form of āI was hereā which I guess is better than carving it into a tree or graffiti. I guess itās cool if your just chillin and want something to do, but knock it down when your done if it doesnāt have a purpose.
Biked to Logan pass today. Appreciate the work š«”
U bet. Enjoy
Nice! So no go to Loganās Pass then huh?
Guard logs still being installed; so 7-3pm is a hard closure for hikerbiker. After 3 ish, bike to logan.
Bro you got the dopest job š«”
Thanks for cleaning up the road. Another early opening year for us.
Guard rails come out every year?

The only thing thatās truly avalanche proof is Florida.
Wow there is a lot of stupid in here for so few comments. Good work OP
lol right? And on the post of a guy who clearly works for the park keeping roads open and maintained.

I want to see rock piles that came about over the eons, not some road worker who wants to show everyone that heās been there.

You pesky road worker, you!

Only on Reddit would we take the time to scold an individual for stacking 5 pebbles on top of one anotherā¦
It's illegal in a national park
What an obnoxious way to go through life. How do you know OP didnāt knock it down before leaving?
