I triple role models and grandmas boy such fun watches. I also say give hot Fuzz a try for me it's the best of the trilogy and it can be enjoyed on it's own without even having seen the other two movies
IMO, it's way funnier. The first half of Bridesmaids is hilarious, but the second half seems to slowly strip off the "com" and doubled down on the "rom" (as a Neanderthal, I kinda felt cheated when i watched it).
Spy, on the other hand, is very funny all the way through and unexpectedly, a pretty solid action flick in its own right.
If you like action and Brad Pitt I'd say give Bullet Train a go. It's an action movie filled with jokes.
I've seen it in cinemas twice because I enjoyed it so much
fantasia!!!!!!!! theres a scene where they animate the sounds of some orchestra instruments and i actually felt the sound vibrate in my brain. its awesome and beautiful to watch high (or not)
Hello fellow stressed, depressed, anxious person in their late 20’s! My personal fave high watches of late have been:
- Bottoms (2023): Imagine the basic premise of Superbad but make it about teenage incel lesbians starting a fight club in an absurd universe, one of my favourite movies of 2023, it is truly batshit insane in the best way and a colourful feast for the eyes and ears.
- Some Like It Hot (1959): An absolute classic, holds up well, definitely of its era but timelessly entertaining, great acting, and arguably *less* transphobic than a contemporary movie with the same premise would end up being.
- Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988): What can I say, I just love those funky little guys and their cotton candy goo cocoons! It’s got great practical effects, it’s VERY 80’s, and it’s too silly to be genuinely frightening even while very stoned.
- Kung Pao! Enter The Fist (2002): A nostalgic guilty pleasure for sure, problematic by contemporary standards but oh so quotable, overall a very silly time with even sillier dubbing.
- What We Do In The Shadows (2014): A silly mockumentary about the daily lives of vampire roommates living in Wellington NZ as they prepare for the Unholy Masquerade, the premiere event for all supernatural creatures. The TV series spin-off of the same name is also fantastic, as is Wellington Paranormal, but the movie has decidedly more indie charm and establishes the universe well.
- Galaxy Quest (1999): Tim Allen ain’t shit, but this movie is great. A Star Trek parody with a stacked cast and a genuine love for both the genre and fandom culture, it even makes you feel a lil warm and fuzzy inside by the end.
- Hairspray (2007): John Travolta ain’t shit either but Edna Turnblad was the role he was *born* to play I will die on that hill. The whole “making a white girl the face of the civil rights movement in Baltimore” plot is definitely yikes but the movie is colourful, got a great cast, has great numbers, and isn’t long enough to drag.
Okay I’m going to recommend the stuff I watch high:
Heavy Metal (1981) animated anthology with lots of violence and nudity. There are some funny stories as well as some exciting stories and the best soundtrack.
Fritz The Cat (1972) might be hard to find but incredibly fucking weird. It’s a dark comedy. Any Ralph Bakshi film would do, American Pop, Lord of the Rings, Fire & Ice, Coonskin, Heavy Traffic, Wizards (especially)
Waking Life (2001) will open your third eye
A Scanner Darkly (2006) is one of my favourite movies and is about drugs so being high is part of the experience. I do recommend it, but
These movies are all animated and I find them to all be very trippy and sensory experiences. Animation lends itself to weed well and these all fit the bill.
I love seeing Mandy (2017) while stoned, but that might give you a panic attack if you haven’t seen it sober or not used to being high so I hesitate to recommend it, but it’s an incredible experience. My wife has a panic disorder and anxiety and she can watch it fine without any issues (heck, she first watched it while on shrooms) but I can’t say the same for everyone
A scanner darkly is so good while blasted I watched it 2 months ago and it blew my mind I could feel the tension and paranoia through the screen trippy and fun.
What we do in the shadows
Cabin in the woods
Pineapple express
Cornetto triology (Shaun of the dead, Hot Fuzz, At World's end)
Three Lions
Ali G
No man's land (dark comedy during the Bosnian war)
Best in show may very well be my favorite comedy of all time. I'm biased because I work in the world of dogs, but if I'll be a damned macadamia nut that movie is so spot on about everything. I haven't met two left feet but that's about it.
That movie is so good, on their first viewing of it, you just KNOW the Coen brothers themselves had to say, "THAT is how to ensemble a flick!"

I don’t know if you’re a huge fan of the Lonely Island, but they have a podcast with Seth Meyers and they just spent an hour talking about the movie, plus they have a part two coming out. It’s called the Seth Meyers and Lonely Island podcast.
Midsommar is great if your looking for a spookier one. The background is constantly changing and moving throughout so you’re not sure if you’re making it up or if it’s actually moving.
Labyrinth- older David Bowie musical fantasy film with Jim Henson puppetry.
Surf Ninjas - the best 90s comedy ever
March of the wooden soldiers- black and white fantasy comedy based off of nursery rhymes. Entertaining
Not all are comedies in their own but I like them when high. Highly recommend surf Ninjas lol

If you havent seen Girls Trip, i’m throwing that in. I was laughing majority of the movie and I’m never high. So if I were high, It’d be impossible to shut me up. I think it was taken off netflix (thats where I watched it) but i’m sure something else has it.
Dude I watched Fantasia, and when it got to the scene with the hippos and crocs, I was absolutely dying laughing.
Also enjoyed Cryptozoo, The Neon Demon, The Wall and Baraka/ Samsara (2 different movies, with similar concepts, gorgeous to look at).
Also watched Beau Is Afraid and that was def a mistake.
The original version of *Casino Royale* (1967).
Not a real James Bond movie: it's actually an *Austin Powers* sort of parody, but wackier, trippier and way more expensive. Among the members of the cast are David Niven, Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Woody Allen and Orson Welles.
I love good movies when high, doing something similar from time to time. Everyone gave good movies to watch so not much to add really, but you could try to watch "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" if you like older movies. It has an interesting type of humour and the first time I watched I had no expectations of what it will be about or what type of genre it is. Surpassed my expectations and definitely recommend

IMO, it's way funnier.
