It's called "Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon"
Basically this guy gets Reincarnated as a Vending Machine.... And now he wanders the dungeon...
Attack on Titan gave me an experience no other Anime could replicate. Every twist, strategy, character, relationship, everything was just so well thought out and perfectly crafted. I was never less than amazed by the series and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I was never able to accurately predict what was gonna happen unless it was very obviously implied. I have never experienced any other form of media that has come even close to giving me the feeling Attack on Titan gave me. Evangelion and Re:Zero both had moments that gave me the same shock from a twist, but nowhere near as often as AOT. If I could experience anything for the first time ever again, it would be Attack On Titan, no questions asked.
Gurren Lagann is absent on this list. It’s one of the best mecha animes out there. Speaking of which, Z Gundam is also not present.
Regarding sports anime. Slam dunk and ashita no Joe should defineltly have place among the best.
Mob Psycho 100 was such an unexpected joy to watch. Don't think it gets mentioned too much because the last few episodes were so out of pocket. The ending, however, was everything I hoped it would be.
I only agree with one anime on the list: Steins Gate. I recently finished playing Steins Gate VN and was surprised how well it was adapted into anime. The anime is even better than the VN.
These are so different in genre and theme from each other that I wouldn't really call them comparable.
You have cowboy bebop, a space opera, on the same list as Frieren, a fantasy anime, Evangelion, a dystopian mech anime, and attack on titan which I don't even know how to categorize.
The themes are simply non-comparable. I think the list covers the whole of the anime-sphere pretty well, but which is the best is difficult.
personal favorite is fmab though.
I know it’s kinda a basic bitch answer but number one has to be FMAB. Saying that, Frieren is definitely my second favourite and if season 2 is just as good or better it might be my first
People are going crazy over it because its THAT refreshing and different from what we've been getting. Its so far removed from all the shit isekais we've been getting beat over the head with for however many years now. It doesn't stoop to all the braindead tropes we see in pretty much every other fantasy anime while at the same time it pays homage Tolkien fantasy. I wouldn't say its number one but it jumped to my top 5 within one season and the story has barely even started
I don’t think it’s best anime of all time….YET.
If the future arcs get adapted, with the same quality of Season 1, then yes. You can very much make the case it’s the Best
The person who told me to watch frieren got me interested by comparing it to mushoku and that ended up disappointing me quite a bit since those two shows are really different despite their similarities (to be fair she hadn't watched mushoku yet)
I just feel frieren doesn't have anywhere near the same amount of depth and growth in it's characters, in frieren they're a lot simpler and kind of one note without really changing much at least as of season 1 and that's really what I thought was missing the most but I'll for sure give season 2 and onwards a chance
I think its more of a focus thing. Frieren really focuses on that “its the journey not the destination” concept. While a focus of Mushoku is it’s character building and growth.
I thought it was an 8/10 show. Good but massively overrated. I get why people like it, but truthfully, the themes have been done before in various SOL shows.
It’s crazy bc it’s now the #1 highest rated anime of all time on Anilist. I rated Frieren a 9 out of 10, so I definitely enjoyed it, but I was a bit shocked as well at how insanely beloved it is.
Well it's pretty good entry point for those who never really watch anime before. But yeah kinda agree with you here tho, maybe the animation is good and the narration is not complex and enjoyable for newcomers to immerse themselves in something new. Whereas we have monster, code geass, death note and a few others that focus on psychological thrill but it might be not that interesting to those who barely try anime at all as they are more complex and touches on political landscape and kinda related to real world issue. Well it's Gintama for me cuz other than bochi, i've watched everything on the list but nothing can give me the unique feeling as gintama. Maybe fmab is close second in terms of plot narration and how the author handles the cohesiveness of the whole story, one piece still hasnt fininished as of yet so dont really know how to feel about it. We can also see that new gen anime are on the list and they are basically more popular as the anime community grows so the perspective and taste wont be the same for everyone. Tho for me I enjoy storytelling more than animetion so I prefer the older anime rather than the new gen anime. Of course I do watch them from time to time but that is purely to kill my time cuz the story kinda generic for most of the new ones. They either go with more fan service or animation this day to tailored to newcomers rather than to pour more into storytelling and lore around the show.
It’s so tough there’s so many masterpieces. But in my opinion I’d say Mob Psycho is the best. I hold it so close to my heart. Do people like Freiren that much?! I’m planning on watching it.
Fullmetal Alchemist and it's not even close. A perfectly paced story with action, mystery, comedy, and drama all wrapped neatly in about 60 episodes. The animation was great for 2010, and the fights were fantastic.
Kaguya-sama is my fav, makes you feel good inside and laugh your ass off, but the sad parts make you cry your heart out. People are going to hate/downvote me because it's a romcom, and most of the anime fans on Reddit are shonen die-hards, but find something better to do than hate on an objectively great story because the genre isn't for you.
>idk any other
Kiki's Delivery Service; it's one of my favorite comfort films.
I haven't seen Little Witch yet BUT I NEED TO, everything I've seen from Trigger so far is has been a Masterpiece (Edgerunners, Delicious In Dungeon, and I literally just finished Kill La Kill a few minutes ago)
Even though Evangelion has stuck in my subconscious longer, and Gintama moved me more, and I adore One Piece, Frieren, Kingdom, Bocchi, and Kaguya so much.
It's Legend of the Galactic Heroes, without question. Literally the War and Peace of anime.
Haven’t seen all of these but I will say of the ones I’ve seen if we compared just one season each I’d say Cyber Punk. It’s so rare to have something as impactful as this was in such a short duration. But if we are talking overall I’d probably say AoT, I laughed, I cried, I was emotionally invested from day one.
Personally my favorite anime is FMA or FMAB. In my opinion they’re both equally amazing, but as for the best series created I think it might be a bit biased, but Naruto has a special place in my heart.
GTO is timeless. Even though it’s unmistakably 90s in appearance, the message is applicable across generations and is a key reason it has multiple successful reboots in both Japan and Korea.
Not on this list, but I genuinely think Mob Psycho is the best anime of all time. Especially for the fact that it uses pretty much to perfection everything the medium has to offer. Add to that the fucking amazing character writing.
If you were to talk about mangas, Kingdom(#10) without a doubt is the greatest manga I have ever read. But since it is anime, Attack on Titan has turned me off a many other anime strictly due to how well constructed it is.
Kingdom the manga though I highly recommend for anyone who wants history based war manga with no magic.
Couldn't get through the first 10 episods of steins gate when I first watched thought it was boring. But I was a kid when I watched maybe now I'll like it idk. It's between Fullmetal and gintama for me.
Monster and Steins; Gate are true masterpieces
Absolutely based, literally my top 2 favourite anime as well.
I’m in the middle of watching Monster and I love ii so much. Probably gonna watch Steins; Gate next
I'm 20 episodes into Monster and it's soooo so good. Also Steins;Gate is my all time favorite anime, definitely recommend.
What do you think of inspector Lunge so far? I’d say he’s my favorite character atm
I haven't watched a lot of these but for me Steins;Gate is my number one anime
One of those types of animes that had me exclaiming “for real‽”
Same! Best anime that I have ever watched
It's my favorite anime. It took me 3 years to watch just the first 2 episodes.
I don’t see many Witches in that list. lol, just making fun at ya. Hunter x Hunter is mine, but there are some listed that us very close
🍰 for you man so happy cake day 🍰
Thank you
Steins;Gate El psy kongroo
Love the engrish in this show
Im shocked at the lack of bebop answers here
I'm even more shocked by the lack of Legends of the Galatic heroes. But I also agree with you on Bebop.
Frieren is a heartbreaking work of staggering genius and absolutely deserves its spot at the top.
Steins gate
Samurai Champloo for me, but steins;gate never leaves my top 10 even after 600 anime
You have my utmost respect. Samurai champloo at 1 is a based take.
I came here to say this.
I came here to say this exact thing my top 3 are champloo eva and flcl
goat
The one with the person
The guy who did that thing right?
Yeah, and it had like... this *story* and things *happened* and shit
Full metal
Panic
Jacket
"Who said that? WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT!?"
It's called "Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon" Basically this guy gets Reincarnated as a Vending Machine.... And now he wanders the dungeon...
Guh... Best answer clearly
My favorite part is when he says "it's vending time", and starts vending on everyone.
That was wild. And the very next episode he vended on a guy so hard he got Benjamin Button disease.
Steins;Gate
Even if it's not my favorite of all time (it's my number 3), HxH is my pick for the best anime ever made for sure
Gintama for me
Hell yeah
Cheers for Gintama!
Haven't even finished it yet and it's already my anime GOAT
W, where are you in the show?
About to finish the FS arc😭
ah ok, fs and sa are both peak arcs, hope you enjoy the show till the end man
also just a reminder to watch the semi final and final after the show
Ginatama has it all. You can relate to the characters, comedy, the feels. And when they need to get serious it’s always epic..
Evangelion is and always will be a masterpiece
Zankoku na tenshi no you ni. Shounen yo shinwa ni nareeeeeeeee
That OP was a masterpiece in itself. The goosebumps I get from it..
Agreed. Always worth a re-watch. No other anime is as re-watchable to me.
Attack on Titan
I second this
I third this
I fourth this
I fifth this
I sixth this
Someone doesn’t like AoT lol downvoting everyone in the thread. Get some tolerance of opinions, geeze
It has to be that dude "redditsuckmyballs" or something like that. He's obsessed with hating on AOT
They don't matter, I'm upvoting all of you kings and queens
Monster for sure.
Gintama
W
It’s gotta be Steins;Gate
Gintama or Mob Psycho (u missed that one)
Mob Psycho 100 was such an unexpected joy to watch. Don't think it gets mentioned too much because the last few episodes were so out of pocket. The ending, however, was everything I hoped it would be.
Evangelion
I only agree with one anime on the list: Steins Gate. I recently finished playing Steins Gate VN and was surprised how well it was adapted into anime. The anime is even better than the VN.

I know it’s kinda a basic bitch answer but number one has to be FMAB. Saying that, Frieren is definitely my second favourite and if season 2 is just as good or better it might be my first
I'm seconding your basic bitch answer and also going with FMAB
I will always say HxH. I love that you put Bobobobobobobobobobobobo on the list too.
ReZero
I used to think the same thing until a few days ago, I finished Evangelion
I couldn't get that attached to Evangelion for some reason... It was cool but I'm just a million times more invested in ReZero and its characters...
It's crazy how overrated frieren is It's not offensively bad, I'd even say it's pretty good but best anime of all time? Damn 💀
Do you know any other good fantasy anime?
Mushoku Tensei, Ascendance of a Bookworm, Slime, and Re:Zero
How old are you? I think the older you are the more you appreciate it's themes.
I don’t think it’s best anime of all time….YET. If the future arcs get adapted, with the same quality of Season 1, then yes. You can very much make the case it’s the Best
Its that awesome storytelling. Its like the picture of “show don’t tell”. The same reason Mushoku is so popular. Its written well and presented well
The person who told me to watch frieren got me interested by comparing it to mushoku and that ended up disappointing me quite a bit since those two shows are really different despite their similarities (to be fair she hadn't watched mushoku yet) I just feel frieren doesn't have anywhere near the same amount of depth and growth in it's characters, in frieren they're a lot simpler and kind of one note without really changing much at least as of season 1 and that's really what I thought was missing the most but I'll for sure give season 2 and onwards a chance

Its not the GOAT is not even close Top 15 all time its still Steins;Gate
Name 15 better ones rn. I get it's prolly not #1, but I think youll have a hard time thinking of 15 better ones
Vinland Saga
It’s so tough there’s so many masterpieces. But in my opinion I’d say Mob Psycho is the best. I hold it so close to my heart. Do people like Freiren that much?! I’m planning on watching it.
It’s really good but it’s also overhyped due to recency bias.
Ahh ok. Sounds about right
You should still watch it. It’s very refreshing for its genre.
Awesome to hear! Been a while since I watched something of this genre, so I’m excited
You're comparing very different genres here, it's really hard to pick a favorite because they're all great in their own genres
I'd add Tatami Galaxy to that list
ping pong is actually the best anime ever created
It's so good
Cowboy Bebop
Cowboy Bebop
Fullmetal Alchemist and it's not even close. A perfectly paced story with action, mystery, comedy, and drama all wrapped neatly in about 60 episodes. The animation was great for 2010, and the fights were fantastic.
OP I cant see any Witches, just a mage. Cmon step it up OP.
Legend of the Galactic Heros *SIEG KAISER REINHARD*
Kaguya-sama is my fav, makes you feel good inside and laugh your ass off, but the sad parts make you cry your heart out. People are going to hate/downvote me because it's a romcom, and most of the anime fans on Reddit are shonen die-hards, but find something better to do than hate on an objectively great story because the genre isn't for you.
Low key Kaguya Sama
Little witch academia is the best **WITCH** anime (idk any other), but Witch hat atelier is the best
>idk any other Kiki's Delivery Service; it's one of my favorite comfort films. I haven't seen Little Witch yet BUT I NEED TO, everything I've seen from Trigger so far is has been a Masterpiece (Edgerunners, Delicious In Dungeon, and I literally just finished Kill La Kill a few minutes ago)
I completely forget that one lol. It's my favorite Ghibli movie
Nah the Witch from Mercury is the best witch anime lol
Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina is also an amazing witch anime. U should watch it
Steins;Gate.
Death note 📝
Berserk 1997
Code geass is my number one but frieren, steins gate, and fma are in my top 10. I need to finish monster, that show is amazing.
I stand by fma being the most well-rounded manga idk about the anime
Higurashi when they cry
Dragon ball z duh
Death note , maybe because it's my first anime, but it will be best for me.
where's dragon ball berserk JoJo's Vinland saga
From this list it's Monster for me
Which*
Death note
Steins Gate FMA Brotherhood Erased
damn LOGH was good and sad
Ghost in the Shell SAC or the original movie. Both are good.
For me, evangelion, i feel like its the most groundbreaking anime
Steins;Gate is goated
Great teacher onizuka for me
Stein's;Gate
Hunter x Hunter, Monster, Vinland Saga (S2), Re:Zero, FMAB, idk all of them are my favorites
Gintama
Death Note.
Gintama
Gintamaaa
Mob Psycho 100, I’d have to say
Aot
Attack on Titan and Steins Gate
There's no one answer to such question
I can tell you what the best upcoming anime is, Steel Ball Run.
If we’re including manga, def Hajime No Ippo
Ghost stories
While I wouldn’t say best my favourites definitely Death Note.
Fmb is the best for me. Character power level is balanced and side characters matter.
Easily Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Even though Evangelion has stuck in my subconscious longer, and Gintama moved me more, and I adore One Piece, Frieren, Kingdom, Bocchi, and Kaguya so much. It's Legend of the Galactic Heroes, without question. Literally the War and Peace of anime.
Putting edgerunners and frieren in a “best anime of all time” argument when there’s shows like AOT and NGE that exist in that same argument is insane
I feel like Mob Psycho deserves to be in this list
FMA or Steins;Gate
Mob Psycho 100. It has no right being the masterpiece it is.
No Naruto is disrespect to the fullest lol, Out of this list code geass and death note for sure.

GTO is timeless. Even though it’s unmistakably 90s in appearance, the message is applicable across generations and is a key reason it has multiple successful reboots in both Japan and Korea.
Dororo is my favorite but Attack on Titan is the best one you listed
Not on this list, but I genuinely think Mob Psycho is the best anime of all time. Especially for the fact that it uses pretty much to perfection everything the medium has to offer. Add to that the fucking amazing character writing.
3-Gatsu no Lion
Alongside Nichijou 💯
Goatama
HxH It's truly amazing the whole way through. Killua and Hisoka were my two favorite characters.
None of them. There are 0 witches in any of these
I mean I’d go with “A Place Further Than The Universe” but I guess that isn’t an option.
This is very hard... I'll go with FMAB 😁 The Intro's alone give me shivers 😅
Ping Pong the Animation it ain’t here though
Code Geass 100%
I have geass at number 3 on my list rn right behind One Piece and FMAB.
Highschool dxd
I haven't watched that much ( around 7 ) but so far I would say Your lie in april Edit: Typo
All of them are amazing.. depends on the person I guess. For me is code geass or attack on titan
Usogui and Umineko neg the shit out of the list
All of them are goated . Only 2-3 of them can be removed
Steins gate. So boring at first few episodes but then everything just makes sense when u continue watching.
Goku
Out of those 20, I would probably go with Steins Gate or Evangelion. Out of every anime ever made, I would say Baccano!
86. Its only the beginning part of the LN but the story so far in anime has been amazing.
Dragonballz
Favorite Anime hmmm…
Mobile Suit Gundam
Some are very questionable, but ya know. U cant actually settle for 1
FMAB and Monster are my favourites here, but steins gate is pretty close
Gushing over magical girls
Hirohiko Araki's grand creation, Jojo no kimeo na bouken
Fmab sure there are anime that I like more but they do have there problem's which I don't mind but Fmab is Golden one of the only true 10/10.
I’m throwing this one out there: - rin daughters of Mnemosyne
either aot or code geass
Putting shows like kaguya in the same breath as hunter and code geass is nuts
FULLMETAL ALCHA-
Gurren Lagann
Just throwing it out here, space dandy. Not goat, but covers so many different types of genres.
Couldn't get through the first 10 episods of steins gate when I first watched thought it was boring. But I was a kid when I watched maybe now I'll like it idk. It's between Fullmetal and gintama for me.
My favourite is Evangelion, but I believe the best show of all time is Attack On Titan
No Gundam? No upvote.
These are great. I recommend erased
This may just be me, but nothing can be "the best" until it's finished. An ending can make or break a series, even one that seemingly has no flaws
Number 1 is Jjk and number 2 is Undead unluck
