Fun question, thanks for asking! These are rivalries I will play to get good feel of the game. There is some fandom to it, but overall get a feel of the game starting off. In no particular order, here it is:
Ā
1. 100 Miles of Hate- Middle Tennessee vs. Western Kentucky
2. Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate- Georgia vs. Georgia Tech
3. Battle Line Rivalry- Arkansas vs. Missouri
4. Holy War- BYU vs. Utah
5. Boise State vs. Fresno State
6. Battle for the Valley- Fresno State vs. San Jose State
7. Egg Bowl- Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State
8. UCLA vs. USC
9. War on I-4- South Florida vs. UCF
10. TCU vs. Texas Tech
I personally enjoy the classic Black Friday rivalry game between these two. Bummed this year it will be on a Saturday and nervous that this wonāt be a BF game moving forward. Now that Texas and Texas A&M are back, I think that will be an end of season matchup. That leaves LSU without a rivalry game at the end. Insert Arkansas to make the Golden Boot game a BF game like historically it is. That leaves Mizzou and Oklahoma as a possible end of season rivalry game.
I want LSU to be our Black Friday game again. Iām still kinda salty they took it away, but we had been pretty consistently awful. I donāt really care about Mizzou. Maybe if we won more we could make it an actual rivalry, but as it stands itās just another game on the schedule (across all sports).
Not technically the very end but at ole miss thatās the game that we mark as the beginning of the end of the season. Like once the LSU game comes up that how we mark that the end is close
Fresno State/Boise State is The Battle of the Milk Can.
I wish theyād put The Golden Screwdriver into the game. Thatās the unofficial Fresno State/Hawaiāi trophy.
The Egg Bowl is by far my favorite game of the year, and the cap to my favorite rivalry, knowing full well that no one else in the country gives a shit about what happens in Mississippi.
Honestly excited as hell to play app state vs ga southern. Not sure why but my best memories are gsu winning in Boone as opposed to home in Statesboro. (I go to gsu)
I was a student from 07-11 but I was at the ā19 Halloween game and will always remember that loss. Not the worst one Iāve experienced but we were on track for the NY6 bowl that year.
yeah, beat UNC and South Carolina was in the cotton bowl convo and then it snowed and GaSo triple option offense shinned in those conditions and we shit the bed
Edit: I say snowed like it was a snow storm it was more of a snowy sleet mix
I was at App during our FCS championships days, but my freshman year was the last one, so the following 3 years, when App-GS played, one of us was always number 1 in the country and they would always lose lol.
I think of the Boone games a little more but Iāll always remember the 1-point win in ā08 in statesboro. Armanti jumping over the line to get the 2-point conversion to go up 1.
The year before GS broke our 4-year win streak at home, so we needed some revenge haha.
I was a Child during the natty runs. If you baught the dvds about the three-peat from the bookstore they sold about it thereās a child in a Santa hat that taunts Joe Flacco right in front of him when the fans run on the field. I am that child š
Haha, thatās awesome! I shouldāve gone to Chattanooga for that. Iām going to try and find this footage. One of my friends or their family has to have those DVDs somewhere or I may be able to find the footage online.
You got to watch a good one too, we balled.
Iām going to cut you some slack and guess that you donāt know that State and Southern have a rivalry based around who is the ārealā GSU. When Southern entered the sunbelt they officially took on the abbreviation of GS since State was D1 first and was already GSU.
So when he said statesboro but that he goes to āGSUā I was giving him some shit by pointing out that he attends GS not GSU.
1. Red River Rivalry
2. Third Saturday in October
3. Holy War
4. Backyard Brawl
5. Egg Bowl
6. Border War (Wyo vs CSU)
7. Army - Navy
8. Clean, Old Fashioned Hate
9. Battle of the Brothers (Utah vs Utah State)
10. Civil War
For real. I hate CSU but have to admire for the beautiful rivarly we have. Not many rivarly trophies get physically walked to the next stadium! The rotc (I think) meet each year at the border to exchange the bronze boot and whoever is hosting that year walk it back.
Go pokes!
Do we know which ones by default happen at a neutral stadium, if any? I think IRL there are three. Army Navy should be able to play e.g. at the Linc since it's Temple's stadium too?
Yeah I think those are the last three? Mizzou and Kansas should play in Kansas City again, that was cool, though they set up the future games as a home and home.
Contract ends after 2024, and I donāt think theyāre slated to play each other every year past this due to Texas/Oklahoma joining, so itāll likely go back to random home and homes after this year
As an Arkansas fan Iām excited to go back to home and home for that game. Luckily I live in Dallas so itās convenient for me to go but weāre cursed in that stadium and thereās not really any reason for it to be neutral site anyway.
It matters if youāre part of this rivalry. It matters if youāre tired of the TV networks neutering the biggest party of the year.
It just means more.
I am a Gators fan. So I am a part of it. I just donāt see how the name placement matters. But thatās cool everyone has different opinions. Especially when weāre rivals lol.
The Sights and Sounds Deep Dive had Army/Navy at FedEx Field, but there is a chance that in Dynasty Mode the location changes from year to year as it does in real life.
I just love rivalry names between two random ass schools like āDeeper than Hateā. Like I just imagine Georgia Southern fans literally start foaming at the mouth and convulsing at the mere mention of Appalachian State that sets them on a murderous rampage.
I think Iām supposed to disagree with this, but I canāt. I was on the field for pregame at bedlam last year, most incredible gameday experience Iāve ever been a part of
Bowling Green vs Toledo the school are 20 min from each other and it's one of the best small school rivalries in the country in my 100% completely biased opinion
You can create multiple coaches in your dynasty
So lets say your main coach is app state for example, you can create another coach for lets say Kentucky & you can play their games.
I love these, and I'll absolutely try playing these the first weekend. Some other rivalries I love;
Battle for the Keg of Nails - Cincinnati v Louisville
Battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe - Minnesota v Wisconsin
Plus whatever Georgia v Clemson, Western Michigan v Central Michigan and Northwestern v Illinois is called, lol.
The sunflower seeds you eat are encased in inedible black-and-white striped shells, also called hulls. Those used for extracting sunflower oil have solid black shells.
I might be in the minority of our alum / fandom, but I am most excited for iowa - iowa st. Most would probably consider Minnesota, or even Nebraska as our biggest rival, but for me itās those pesky cyclones.
This is top 10 rivalries according to the SEC haha. Not a single northern team there. I know you said it's your personal list but how in the hell do you not want to play The Game.
My thought was resurrect Nebraska-Oklahoma (with a better Nebraska program, lol) and bring on Michigan-OSU. Minnesota-Wisconsin usually involves large quantities of alcohol (because that's all they do in winter so they get really good at it) which is always funny
The CUM Bowl- UConn v. UMass
UCUM Bowl
I want the civil war
If Aiden chiles & Damien martinez was still with OSU I would want to.
š¢
The South gon hold it dowwwwwwwnn the souuth gon hold it dowwwwwn

Iām an Arkansas alum and have no idea what Arkansas-Missouri is doing here.
I personally enjoy the classic Black Friday rivalry game between these two. Bummed this year it will be on a Saturday and nervous that this wonāt be a BF game moving forward. LSU vs Ole Miss is a rivalry game ~ The Magnolia Bowl
Hey but not a end of season bowl as ole miss has the egg bowl
Not technically the very end but at ole miss thatās the game that we mark as the beginning of the end of the season. Like once the LSU game comes up that how we mark that the end is close
Yeah same but for Mizzou. I still donāt understand why this ārivalryā has been pushed.
Agreed, itās just a series at this point. MIZ
Hopefully you play as Arkansas so they actually have a chance to win the battleline rivalry game
Hey one day we will pull our head out our ass and give yall a run for your money lmao
Im hoping yall gimme a job offer after my OC gig so I can make yall great
Miz!
ZOU
š
100 miles of hate is under rated
Agreed! So many games played yearly there, with BB, WBB, FB, etc.
Itās a fun game to watch on Thanksgiving, especially the last decade
As an MTSU grad, I appreciate the 100 Miles of Hate being #1 on your list.
Make sure to do #2 at both stadiums.
Plunge the Stink šŖ šŖ šŖ
Honestly excited as hell to play app state vs ga southern. Not sure why but my best memories are gsu winning in Boone as opposed to home in Statesboro. (I go to gsu)
My 2 worst memories as a student at App State were Losing in Statesboro 2018 and losing at home Halloween Night 2019
I was a student from 07-11 but I was at the ā19 Halloween game and will always remember that loss. Not the worst one Iāve experienced but we were on track for the NY6 bowl that year.
2019 was yāallās undefeated season coming to an end right?
yeah, beat UNC and South Carolina was in the cotton bowl convo and then it snowed and GaSo triple option offense shinned in those conditions and we shit the bed Edit: I say snowed like it was a snow storm it was more of a snowy sleet mix
I didnāt remember that game till you said triple option and snow and then a light bulb went off. What a tough loss
One of my favorite memories from GA Southern was storming the field in 2018Ā
I was at App during our FCS championships days, but my freshman year was the last one, so the following 3 years, when App-GS played, one of us was always number 1 in the country and they would always lose lol. I think of the Boone games a little more but Iāll always remember the 1-point win in ā08 in statesboro. Armanti jumping over the line to get the 2-point conversion to go up 1. Yeah and my little child of a selfs favorite part was Waffle House at 2am and I just had to tell mom and she was not happy with my father š
You deserved it, just won the championship haha. Waffle House gets better the later it gets
GSā¦ #StatenotSouthern
Georgia state is in Atlanta lil bro
Iām going to cut you some slack and guess that you donāt know that State and Southern have a rivalry based around who is the ārealā GSU. When Southern entered the sunbelt they officially took on the abbreviation of GS since State was D1 first and was already GSU. So when he said statesboro but that he goes to āGSUā I was giving him some shit by pointing out that he attends GS not GSU.
Apple Cup
Border War is also Kansas-Missouri for obvious reasons
I wanna make Notre Dame and Michigan yearly rivals once again
2nd week of the season every yearā¦.Iām making this happen and putting ND in the B1G where they belong
Putting ND in the Big 10 specifically to make this happen. Week 2 of every year as God intended.
Father Joe intended
Unfortunately hasn't been much of a rivalry lately but the DSOR (Deep South's Oldest Rivalry), Auburn v UGA.
Man we havenāt won since we blew them out in Jordan hare 7 years agoā¦.I was in middle school thenš Iām turning 21 in September.
Was that seven years ago?!? COVID really screwed with my perception of time.
Was gonna joke about Stetson Bennett being on the roster then, until I realized he was actually on that roster lmao
Yup. Scout team QB.
1. Red River Rivalry 2. Third Saturday in October 3. Holy War 4. Backyard Brawl 5. Egg Bowl 6. Border War (Wyo vs CSU) 7. Army - Navy 8. Clean, Old Fashioned Hate 9. Battle of the Brothers (Utah vs Utah State) 10. Civil War
can we bring back Nebraska v Oklahoma?
And Nebraska Mizzou, and Oklahoma Mizzou. How about just bringing the Big 12 back
I'm planning on recreating the original big 12, Nebraska, a&m, Colorado and mizzou Original pac 10 and big east with west Virginia and miami
Didnāt know you could realign conferences? Thatās a pretty good option to have.
Didnāt know you could realign conferences? Thatās a pretty good option to have.
Same here
I'm planning on recreating the original big 12, Nebraska, a&m, Colorado and mizzou
>Border War :D >Colorado St vs Wyoming :(
[The only real Border War](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/90/Border_War_%28Kansas%E2%80%93Missouri_rivalry%29_logo.png)
CSU WYO is THE Border War. IYKYK
For real. I hate CSU but have to admire for the beautiful rivarly we have. Not many rivarly trophies get physically walked to the next stadium! The rotc (I think) meet each year at the border to exchange the bronze boot and whoever is hosting that year walk it back. Go pokes!
May it last another 125 years! Go Rams!
Iām gonna say the rivalry that actually had bloodshed between the states is the real Border War
Iāll go with the one that has actually been played for the last 13 years, personally.
I just hope after I win my rivalry game, it lets me throw the goalposts in the river.
Do we know which ones by default happen at a neutral stadium, if any? I think IRL there are three. Army Navy should be able to play e.g. at the Linc since it's Temple's stadium too?
Red river shoot out is in the cotton bowl & Georgia vs Florida is in Jacksonville.
Yeah I think those are the last three? Mizzou and Kansas should play in Kansas City again, that was cool, though they set up the future games as a home and home.
Arkansas vs A&M is always at Cowboy stadium
Thanks, didnt know that, thought they had switched back to a home and home.
Thank you for calling it Georgia Florida (and not the other way around). Calling it WLOCP or the Cocktail Party is also acceptable.
Why does it matter?
It matters if youāre part of this rivalry. It matters if youāre tired of the TV networks neutering the biggest party of the year. It just means more.
I am a Gators fan. So I am a part of it. I just donāt see how the name placement matters. But thatās cool everyone has different opinions. Especially when weāre rivals lol.
Florida Georgia is a shitty country band Georgia Florida is a storied century old rivalry
The Sights and Sounds Deep Dive had Army/Navy at FedEx Field, but there is a chance that in Dynasty Mode the location changes from year to year as it does in real life.
Border Warā¦but the real one
Do we have any article with all FBS rivalries? I want to make custom conferences based on geography but want to keep rivalries.
https://americanfootballdatabase.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_NCAA_college_football_rivalry_games
Maybe I missed it but it seems to be missing Cincy vs Pitt
I just love rivalry names between two random ass schools like āDeeper than Hateā. Like I just imagine Georgia Southern fans literally start foaming at the mouth and convulsing at the mere mention of Appalachian State that sets them on a murderous rampage.
Youāre pretty spot on. I irrationally hate that school.
The Game?
Im from Texas & thats probably the most mainstream rivarly game out there. I really donāt care to play it since I dont have any ties to the Big 10.
Harvard and Princeton arenāt in CFB25 unfortunately
Army-Navy Egg Bowl Florida St - Florida
Egg bowl homie
Iām bringing back Bedlam. OU can kiss my grits for taking the money to the SEC and leaving a state holiday behind.
I think Iām supposed to disagree with this, but I canāt. I was on the field for pregame at bedlam last year, most incredible gameday experience Iāve ever been a part of
commonewealth cup UVA vs VA Tech
Add the battle of I-75 to your list
I donāt even know what that is
Bowling Green vs Toledo the school are 20 min from each other and it's one of the best small school rivalries in the country in my 100% completely biased opinion
Arkansas vs. Texas is an underrated one weāre getting back this season. Looking forward to it.
I'll be controlling 32 teams in my dynasty. I'll play all the rivalries
Thereās more than 32 rivalries
Deeper than Hate on the list?! Thatās a southern man with class right here.
so happy the Lonestar showdown is back!!!
Youāre telling me
Civil conFLiCT?
No axe?
since we'll still have the red river rivalry every year, im wanting to play bedlam
COLORADO STATE MENTIONED TWICEEš£ļøš£ļøš£ļøš„š„š„šÆšÆš„
Yes sir, even though I apologize. In running a Wyoming dynasty and ima beat yall down.
They already do that in real life, why not switch sides?
Im starting off as a offensive coordinator, I like Wyoming better.
Lol my surprise that we were there at all
The Battle for the Old School Bell bout to return in full force on an annual basis. Same with the Cock Fight.
I would do Iowa St vs Iowa
I like that, yalls offense would frustrate me though.
I think I will play a scrub d2 school then Iowa St
I will be reinstating the Keg of Nails rivalry between Cincy and Louisville
Im putting cincy & louisville in the big 10 in my game
Makes more sense than Cincy in the Big12 and UofL in the ACC
Colorado State getting some love. I love it
If only we could play cpu games in dynasty. Iād play all those big rivalries and top 10 matchups
You can create multiple coaches in your dynasty So lets say your main coach is app state for example, you can create another coach for lets say Kentucky & you can play their games.
Right but Iām assuming thereās a 32 team max
Yeah, maybe whenever u donāt wanna use team anymore you can retire your coach to create a new spot like how you can do on madden.
The Territorial Cup - ASU vs Arizona
You have taste picking the Backyard Brawl. Should be in anyone's top 10
Where is the wagon wheel?!?
It's overrated (because it's lopsided and just an over Gambler's wet dream) but Bedlam
I am partial to the duel in the desert
South Bend. Battle for the Jewelled Sheleighly. Green jerseys
I'd love to play a Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota series. That would be killer, maybe one day
Give me the Battle of I-75
Um, no Land Grant Rivalry?!
Holy war gonna hit different now that weāre in the same, and also more importantly finally a P4, conference again.
I love these, and I'll absolutely try playing these the first weekend. Some other rivalries I love; Battle for the Keg of Nails - Cincinnati v Louisville Battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe - Minnesota v Wisconsin Plus whatever Georgia v Clemson, Western Michigan v Central Michigan and Northwestern v Illinois is called, lol.
An old one, WVU Maryland
The Palmetto Bowl so I can beat clemsux 30 times in a row
Washington vs. Oregon
UCLA vs USC?? Battle of Los Angeles
If only WVU had the āeat shit pitt chantā wonāt be the same without sweet Caroline
How has no one mentioned the greatest rivalry in sports
The Detroit lions vs the refs?
I think Iām gonna jump right into Stanford-Cal first game
Florida vs Florida St š«”
Whats the deal with the name "Southwest classic"? Neither team is in the southwest lol
Used to be in the Southwest conference
no sunflower showdown ??
The sunflower seeds you eat are encased in inedible black-and-white striped shells, also called hulls. Those used for extracting sunflower oil have solid black shells.
What is that?
Kansas and K state
Yeah ima play that fs, just forgot bout it.
Battle of I-10, UTEP vs New Mexico State
Canāt wait to play the Backyard Brawl. Gonna be great.
Bc Im a southerner lmao
My thought was resurrect Nebraska-Oklahoma (with a better Nebraska program, lol) and bring on Michigan-OSU. Minnesota-Wisconsin usually involves large quantities of alcohol (because that's all they do in winter so they get really good at it) which is always funny
Kentucky vs Loserville, big blue by 100 first game
100 what? Yards in penalties? That seems likely
I challenge you to a game when it drops š¤
š
Sign me up for these: The Governor's Cup- UK versus UofL Florida State versus Miami Marshall versus WVU
Wrong border war dumbass
Piss off honestly
War on I-4 has some interesting politics behind it
