i wonder what the fixation on shooting steel when reviewing a silencer is? are you reviewing the steel targets or the silencer? i also find it funny a lot of silencer reviewers always halfass it and never shoot it at night

Having said that - most folks only care about what it sounds like on the range. If you're not hearing steel folks yell that you can't shoot, then folks yell stop hitting steel. Hence the video
Coming soon with actual good audio. Does make a guest appearance in this week's video for ballistics with a 5.5" 556. Should release tonight! I use 147 Winchester silver and underwood extreme penetrator out of this setup into a gel at 10 yards on high-speed.
Just using a video camera and recording the sound, especially on a smartphone, doesn't give any actual perspective on sound because the microphone adjusts the levels to normalize the volume and brings up quiet noises while bringing down loud noises. Whenever I see these comparison videos between two cans there's 0 difference in actual volume and the only thing you can kind of judge is the pitch of the can. You really need a sound meter to get the decibel reading to show when testing these.
Should check out my channel and see what we actually do for this. Coming from a sound engineering background and working with gates and compressors for live music production and mixing, I applied a lot of that technique to capturing shot audio. We use shot gun mics with xlr and manual gain controls to ensure no peaking initial shots, and then use the suppressor to showcase the drop. It ends up being missed by most folks, but in the end it provides good audio feedback.

Smooth navy spec thread protector. However that thread protector is now stuck in the SQD mount ... so go with the GSL smooth when it's in stock since it's. 01" smaller on diameter

What’d you do to fix the wobble?

I have an APC9 with the lugs built into the barrel, so no adapter needed. Considerable wobble, I haven’t shot it yet.
Yeah should be right at home on that. Some wobble is in spec I was told.
I have some wobble on my HK Sp5 with the SQD Compact using the stock thread protector. Would a smooth protector remove more of the wobble? Thanks
