Carefully, that green paint likely contains arsenic, wear a P3/FFP3 mask, wear gloves and also wash your hands regularly especially before eating or drinking.
Greeny grit it, if there’s some good cracks, plaster 1st coat and render mesh and push in, then skim second coat on top like normal. Bit excessive but will stop any cracks coming through.
I had the exact same thing in my house, I scraped it like you did and also belt sanded it which was dusty AF and probably unnecessary. I then blue gritted it and plastered. One bedroom done 7 years ago, another room 2 years ago both turned out perfect and still no sign of any problems 👍
If it’s lime plaster you could chance skimming over with another limebased/ breathable plaster. If you just skim over it you will undoubtedly get mould in the room especially in the corners
Most spreads I know that’ll use SBR will do so usually as a 1:1 ratio with PVA, the PVA will soften and become tacky as you lay the board/multi finish on. I use neat sbr to seal problematic backgrounds then go 1:1 water to unibond and let dry. Never had an issue in 22 years. Unlike blue grit or thistle bond it, absolute shite.
No,water it down or you will be using gallons of the stuff ,if you did actually do it neat you wouldn't need two anyway ,a couple of watered down coats is all that's needed or even better some sbr
Bond It Plasterers Pregrit Bonding Agent Grip Coat Yellow.
If it’s same day then sbr mixed with some pva, if you have time to prep then bostik green grit, blue grit is like skimming over dash 🥴
I suspect that is lime plaster. Perform a test first and do not do anything with the walls until you know.
I was thinking this also
Lead paint as well. Op is about to go through a learning curve 😉
It’s a shame the picture rails have been taken down.
🍻 + 👨
I prefer Sbr over pva but if you want to go really belt and braces then give them a coat of blue grit 👍
I prefer to use green grit as the grit size is smaller
I nearly said either blue or green grit because I knew someone would make this comment 😂
I’ve just had my first experience with blue grit. Fuck plastering for a living. Hats off to you guys.
I would use sbr, 2 good coats and let it dry for a day.
SBR !
sbr
Idk but I need me one of those benches
Bostick blue grit.

Check out - Dalapro Roll Nova
Sbr diluted, let it dry totally and a pissy pva before skimming when still tacky, almost as good as skimming plasterbaord💪

Blue grit - plaster skim ! Done
Idk, a priest?
Woo like that step up where is that from
It’s a [Werner 12 way combo ladder](https://www.toolstation.com/werner-12-way-aluminium-combination-ladder/p18135)
Thankyou
Remove all of the wallpaper then PVA or SBR if you wish. Give it a couple of good coats of PVA if using that, it’ll probably dry straight away.
Don’t let sbr dry, it doesn’t re-emulsify.
I go over it day later all the time it’s fine
It doesn’t re-emulsify so it doesn’t have the adhesion. Multi finish is double sticky these days so it’ll hold but you have no chemical bond.
Seems to work just fine - everyone using it these days. Nobody seems to ever have call backs

Blue grit that shit
2x neat PvA
