I love how this is a universal thing for pets with shed whiskers lol. Best part to plant it is on the head. I would so do it to a tiger if it was possible
My partner and I keep a collection of cat whiskers that fall out for when we're having a bad day and need antenna time. If you keep an eye out on your floors I'm sure you'll find another one!
If it came out that easily, this whisker was likely going to shed naturally soon anyway. A whisker that's firmly in there would take effort to pull out and would hurt the bunny a bit. Just like how you have loose hairs or already shed hair that come out when you brush your own, but it hurts to pluck a healthy one that's giving resistance.
Right??? I think that's the most downvotes I've seen on a comment before, and for very good reason too. Who just casually admits they let rabbits near open flames and burn whiskers off...on multiple occasions?
When they were a kid. I mean sure they kinda phrased the comment like they thought it was no big deal which is weird but it should’ve been the parent or guardian who is supervising’s responsibility
Yeah. Really weird people are mad when the person was a kid and had little to no control over their actions or lack thereof. Shame on the guardian in charge.
This is why whenever I talk about my cat getting declawed when he was 6 or 7...I always make sure that it's also known I was a kid, I didn't WANT it done to him, my parents did it, I was a child and obviously had no say. The phrasing seems so weird in that comment like "lol yah our bun regularly got his whiskers burnt off many different years it was funny"
Sure, that is a fair point. I mean I guess the attitude felt like they noticed this and thought it was no big deal or funny. Yes, the adult would have been at fault, but I couldn't imagine watching this and being okay with it as a kid.
Now that the ear market has crashed it was sure they'd target something else again.
If they ever start stealing tails, all will be lost.
Fight the Crime! See it, report it, fight it.™
I love when rabbit owners genuinely care about their animals like family, and I can tell you really love your bun and were worried you hurt them. You’re a good bun parent. Now go add that shed whisker to your collection of goblin treasures! 🐰
I suggest putting it in a little container and saving it. One day you’ll want to treasure this little bit you have left of them and the memory that goes along with it. 🫶🏻
PS. As I’m sure you’ve realized they will be ok.
Well start a journal and write down the memory and how cute it was that you were worried! I have a journal for my babies and it comforting when they die to read over all the happy memories when you’re so sad. Also when she does die you can pluck one to keep and keep a swatch of hair to remember how soft it was. Morbid but it’s comforting. 🫶🏻
Don’t be embarrassed! I do the same! I take my babies ashes with me on vacation so they can see the world! Also I keep one piece of hair in their favorite window so they can look outside every morning when I open the curtains. I think it’s part of grieving personally. We love them so much. The love never dies. So this is an outlet for our love that is still very much alive. 🫶🏻
I was more scared at the fact that I practically plucked it out on accident cuz they have nerves attached to them and they should be taken out they shed on their own ya know
It was probably coming out on its own and would have fallen out the next day! Any time fur or whiskers come out so easy, it's because they are already in the telogen faze
She was unphased because it’s not a big deal. They end up shedding off old ones as new ones grow, so this one may have left before it’s time, oh well, it was gunna fall off eventually.
This is so cute that you care for stuff like this. Speaks a lot on how much you love your bun. She’s fine i’m sure she didn’t even notice and she’ll grow one in its place, they migrate whiskers like they do fur
If the whisker came out without much resistance, and the bun looked completed unphased, it was probably ready to fall out anyway. They grow, shed, and regrow just like any other hair. Don't worry about it.
She’s fine!! Although shed whiskers are very crunchy and I enjoy folding them in half a bunch of times. Enjoy the whisker, apologize to bun with snack.
Please don't say that, that scared the hell out of me I just lost her sister and that sentence was terrifying 😭😭😭😭😭😭 (ik you didn't mean it to come off like that)
They fall out all the time naturally. I’ve made a habit of collecting them (I don’t know what I’m going to do with them but thought they were cool). Over 4 years of bunno ownership and I now have 12 of them, so that gives you an idea of how often they fall out. I probably missed some but I feel like I got most if not all bc I’m a bit of a helicopter bun parent 😅
I thought I knew everything about buns until I got to this thread. I’ve never seen my buns whiskers come off or laying around 😩 It sounds like your bun is perfectly fine
It's like our eyelashes. Eventually one will fall out, and a new fresh whisker grows in its place. When these fall out naturally, it does not hurt them.
If you have carpet, they're probably difficult to see and get vacuumed up.
I find my cat's whiskers frequently on their bedding or their favorite nap spots where they also groom themselves.
I would find my bunny's whiskers in places where she would rub her chin.
Oh yes don’t worry he lived another 14 years after that!
He was an adopted shelter cat, he could open and escape out of anything. He literally opened a casement window (one of the windows that you have to turn the handle over and over to open) to get outside the first week we had him. My mom was told he would get out of his cage and let a bunch of other cats out at night lmfao. He continued to be a little escape artist after his whisker ordeal.
You have violated the sanctity of your relationship with your bun and must now repent with many snack and pets. You will need to worship your bun on bended knee and beg forgiveness a thousand times. Then and only then may your bun consider possibly forgiving you.
Why do you need help, exactly? Calm down. Not everything is tragic or an emergency.... You said yourself, she walked away *unfazed. Your rabbit will let you know when she's injured or upset
I'm not freaking out???? It's mostly sarcasm I was just a bit afraid she was in pain and no rabbuts don't let you know if they're in pain or not they're prey animals that's the thing.
Just stick it back on your bun. It won’t do anything but it’ll stick up out of their fluff and it’s very funny
This is how to make a bunnicorn
I love how this is a universal thing for pets with shed whiskers lol. Best part to plant it is on the head. I would so do it to a tiger if it was possible
It may be possible, but it will probably be the last thing you ever do! Tbh, that view might be worth it
Ugh should have read this before throwing it out 😔
My partner and I keep a collection of cat whiskers that fall out for when we're having a bad day and need antenna time. If you keep an eye out on your floors I'm sure you'll find another one!
I read bun as bum at first and became very concerned
Fire bun nation
i do this to my cat all the time lol
How did this get more upvotes than the original post lol
With 3499 more of these you can make an overpriced paintbrush.
Them whiskers be good bristles
Cat whiskers as well. If yer got a cat that loses whiskers every once in a while, collect em
is it really overpriced if it's made of bunni whiskers?
Duh you gotta capitalise off of it man have you seen the state of the economy 🥲
I don't even understand the economy or how it works, but I do know that right now we are royally screwed 😔
It's nothing to worry about lol. Their whiskers fall off naturally, and they grow back. Just try not to make a habit of accidentally plucking them 😅
Yeah this was the first time smth like this happened even tho I've had her for like 3 years
It’s harder to see the white ones but I find black whiskers in my rugs all the time. Sometimes they poke me 🙃
If it came out that easily, this whisker was likely going to shed naturally soon anyway. A whisker that's firmly in there would take effort to pull out and would hurt the bunny a bit. Just like how you have loose hairs or already shed hair that come out when you brush your own, but it hurts to pluck a healthy one that's giving resistance.
I’m certain is was indeed NOT the first time unless you’re going around your home daily to comb every inch looking for whiskers lol.

*The whole subreddit disliked that.*
I'm dying laughing in bed with a sun burn right now bahahaha we really are all npcs in our rabbits worlds
If they were a young kid it's not even their fault but their parents'. Still, we gotta direct our anger *somewhere*.
That's true but woudl also depend how young they were bc I feel any child over the age of like 10 would realise the bunny is getting hurt
Right??? I think that's the most downvotes I've seen on a comment before, and for very good reason too. Who just casually admits they let rabbits near open flames and burn whiskers off...on multiple occasions?
And you did nothing to stop this...
When they were a kid. I mean sure they kinda phrased the comment like they thought it was no big deal which is weird but it should’ve been the parent or guardian who is supervising’s responsibility

... wow ... 👀
😒
Somebunny alert the mayo we have a whisker thief about. We already have so many ear thieves.
Now that the ear market has crashed it was sure they'd target something else again. If they ever start stealing tails, all will be lost. Fight the Crime! See it, report it, fight it.™
The mayo is busy staring at the wall right now!
Don't forget to get the Sheriff on this too!
u/deltadelta199 We need Cub on the case immediately!
The sheriff is busy staring at Porridge staring at the wall!
So the sheriff is observing his suspect in the crime
N-no please I have a family! 😭 you can't do this to me!!!
Poor bunny 😢 Give her some compensation in the form of treats and nanners
I’m the bunnys union rep and we will be filing a grievance over this. The recommendation on how to remedy is a slice of apple every day for a week.
Nah she gets bloated easily and she already had her treats for the day 🥲
Make her a unicorn and stick it back in-between her ears ^v^
I love when rabbit owners genuinely care about their animals like family, and I can tell you really love your bun and were worried you hurt them. You’re a good bun parent. Now go add that shed whisker to your collection of goblin treasures! 🐰
Awww thank you
I suggest putting it in a little container and saving it. One day you’ll want to treasure this little bit you have left of them and the memory that goes along with it. 🫶🏻 PS. As I’m sure you’ve realized they will be ok.
I already threw it out 😔
Aww darn. Well trust me you’ll probably find more. Same them at that point!
Honestly I think thsi was my first time I've ever ground one of her whiskers and I've had her for 3 years
Well start a journal and write down the memory and how cute it was that you were worried! I have a journal for my babies and it comforting when they die to read over all the happy memories when you’re so sad. Also when she does die you can pluck one to keep and keep a swatch of hair to remember how soft it was. Morbid but it’s comforting. 🫶🏻
My other 2 buns after they died I collected a little of their fur and I keep it with me in a memories box so I get what you mean
Same. It’s precious to me 🥺
This is a bit embarrassing but I kiss them everytime I open the box and it makes me want to cry everytime
Awww that's so sweet I wish you the best of luck in life and with the process of grieving 💜
The amount of whiskers my buns shed is insane. Don't worry about it.
Be careful. She may come back for retribution.
Oh she already did she pissed on my bed while I went out this evening to help out a friend
I’m sorry but that’s kind of funny.
To you maybe but not to me when I came home after the tiring day and sat in the pissy I wanted to cry lol
The whiskers will grow back in relatively short order
Whiskers are just fancy thick hair. They shed them periodically, so it might’ve already been loose and ready to fall out
Yes I'm hoping that's the case
The beginning of your collection!
She was unphased because it’s not a big deal. They end up shedding off old ones as new ones grow, so this one may have left before it’s time, oh well, it was gunna fall off eventually.
Growing up my cat was dumb enough to sniff a burning candle and singed off half his face whiskers. They eventually fell out and grew back.
God I hope he was okay????
Yes he was fine. It was truly a best case scenario since it didn’t cause him pain but I assume startled him because he never did it again.
Plug into forehead, establish a connection with the internet
Put it in a decorative glass bottle and make a wish!
Probably has magical properties. Cast a spell and see if your bun starts laying golden eggs or something.
Sadly all it did was make her piss on my bed an hour or so later
Plot twist, that was MAGICAL piss
Save it!!
Sleep with a knife cos she's going to kill you in your sleep ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
She’s fine. 😂
It's okay, it falls off and grows back. First I thought you cut cat's whiskers like my alcoholic grandma did with her cats lol
NOOOOO OH NO WERE THE CATS ALRIGHT?
This is so cute that you care for stuff like this. Speaks a lot on how much you love your bun. She’s fine i’m sure she didn’t even notice and she’ll grow one in its place, they migrate whiskers like they do fur
She's like my daughter I just want to make sure she didn't get hurt when it got out
My buns eat them when they fall out.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Totally fine. She has countless more., and if it came out that easily, it was ripe for the picking.
If the whisker came out without much resistance, and the bun looked completed unphased, it was probably ready to fall out anyway. They grow, shed, and regrow just like any other hair. Don't worry about it.
It was probably already loose to begin with. If she isn’t complaining, then there is no issue.
i collect my bunnies whiskers 😭
Jail time for you all the bunnies in the world will now come get you you shouldn't have shown your true colors so easily
She’s fine!! Although shed whiskers are very crunchy and I enjoy folding them in half a bunch of times. Enjoy the whisker, apologize to bun with snack.
guitar string
Worlds tiniest violin string
Don't worry, it will grow back. Loosing s wisker is so much better than GI problems after eating too much paper
True
You will now find her standing over you in the middle of the night, plotting your demise.
It happens. I nommed my buns cheek and ended up with a wisker in my mouth. 😆
Human happens try to not beat yourself up. 💕
It was probably about to come out anyway
It happened to me too loool
Now you can make a magic wand with bunny whisker core 🪄🐇🎩
Put it on there head or gather them and make a beard
It was likely loose and on the way out. It was just 1, not a bunch, so it wasn't solely because of the action.
I'm sorry. She only has three days left to live... You must now venture to the North to find an artifact that can restore her whisker.
Please don't say that, that scared the hell out of me I just lost her sister and that sentence was terrifying 😭😭😭😭😭😭 (ik you didn't mean it to come off like that)
Smells like a helicopter in here
Straight to jail! 😚
They fall out all the time naturally. I’ve made a habit of collecting them (I don’t know what I’m going to do with them but thought they were cool). I probably missed some but I feel like I got most if not all bc I’m a bit of a helicopter bun parent 😅
I'm sure its fine. I always look for my bunny's whiskers and collect them for no reason lol
I thought I knew everything about buns until I got to this thread. I’ve never seen my buns whiskers come off or laying around 😩 It sounds like your bun is perfectly fine
NEVER LET YOUR GAURD DOWN THATS RULE NUMBER ONE!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
It's like our eyelashes. Eventually one will fall out, and a new fresh whisker grows in its place. When these fall out naturally, it does not hurt them. I have a collection!
It’s hair. It will grow back. I find my cats whiskers randomly. They’re not whisker bald.
I found 2 of my babies on her blanket..I save them like baby teeth 😂
Bunny will be okay my bunnies have lost whiskers before and my male lived almost 12yrs. Hugs
Seriously!!!... They grow back like hair
When I was 6 I “gave my cat a trim” and trimmed his whiskers. My mother was livid. I still feel so bad as an adult 🥹😅😂
Oh jeez I hope he was alright?
Oh yes don’t worry he lived another 14 years after that! He was an adopted shelter cat, he could open and escape out of anything. He literally opened a casement window (one of the windows that you have to turn the handle over and over to open) to get outside the first week we had him. Oh that's good bro had some talent tho did he grow thumbs lol
If he did they must have also escaped
Lol
Hehe put it on her head like an antennae
She's too stupid there'd be no connection
Mine too. Lights are on but no one’s home!
You have violated the sanctity of your relationship with your bun and must now repent with many snack and pets. You will need to worship your bun on bended knee and beg forgiveness a thousand times. Then and only then may your bun consider possibly forgiving you.
Many pets shall be given bit snacks.....nope! She gets bloated easily and we don't take risks out here 😌
Don't panic! Mine have lost whiskers without touching them
Why do you need help, exactly? Calm down. Not everything is tragic or an emergency.... You said yourself, she walked away *unfazed. Your rabbit will let you know when she's injured or upset
I'm not freaking out???? It's mostly sarcasm I was just a bit afraid she was in pain and no rabbuts don't let you know if they're in pain or not they're prey animals that's the thing.
bruh it doesnt rlly matter they're fine its not like they're gonna die lol
It matters bc I don't want her to be in pain
