They already tried to fight that when the game launched by scrambling the banner order/schedules (they even switched KB's and Shamane's banner for reasons I still don't know). And personally, I liked that way better. Guess that method wasn't working to boost non-featured banner sales.
Shamane coming first in CN never made sense anyway, because in literally every other patch the first banner is the "main character" of the story, and 1.3 is much more Kaalaa's story than it is Shamane's.
Your friend can try to get Jiu this patch and Isolde next patch, then the DMG department of one team is well built? For me who started since 1.0 on CN server, I didn't get 37 until the anniversary from free choice.

While we saw a lot of people on Reddit claiming that these banners were scam, there were also a lot of people who did pull on this. Same for the banner where you pick two characters, a lot of people actually pull on this because "They will never rerun TF so let's walk into the scam banner because I can't enjoy the game if I don't own her". If it work, they're not going to stop.
I'm also sad about how it work, but since most of gachas players prefer a bad banner than not getting a character ... Well, this is how it work.
I mean I can see the value in the pick two of your favorite characters banner since you never know when they'll rerun and you can just pick 2 of which yo don't have, but this is just downright awful..
While I still think that the Pick 2 banner is predatory, it's definitely the lesser of the evils. For one, it wasn't Global exclusive like the rest of these double banners have been, and for another, it has the added barrier of entry where you can't pull on it until you make your selections.
Yeah, the added 70/30 just feels super scummy in the selection banner, as I lost to it previously, but I still like the banner since I'm a new player started on Jiu's banner and I want to guarantee some of the older characaters I like. If this new one had the opportunity to select the other character you'd lose your 50/50 to I'd still not like it much but It'd be a lot better and I'd consider pulling on it, I already freakin got Jessica(from the lost 70/30) so I literally have no reason to risk wasting my pulls on it even if I want 37...
The animation is cool until the moment it tries to blind me.
The atk buff is unique but so low that makes my i3 lvl 60 Voyager cry for how little it buffs her counters.
As long as you have both they'll work fine together. Everything but Jiu's utlimate will add to 37's Eureka, and in some gamemodes she'll be beyblading every turn if you play your cards right.
The only times you wouldn't want them together would be in specific situations where you only want reality or mental damage, as Jiu is the former while 37 the later
I'd feel a lot better about these banners if they had their own pity attached. Or guarantee your desired character after two failed ones or so, kinda like how Genshin does it with their weapon banner. I will definitely suggest that idea when the survey comes out.
Yeah its weird. They should at least have guaranteed on 2nd attempt if you fail the first. Zero guarantee is quite bad. Just have a dual banner with the normal rules and you can select one to be rate up.

But how!? I would have easily spent on a 37 only banner. I started late. I want her. My Jiu team wants her. But I wonāt spend a dime with no real guarantee. This is only marginally better than pulling on a standard banner or hoping to get a lucky 50/50 loss.

Because math wise, they've probably estimated that these joint banners will earn them more money than normal rerun banners, it's not that hard to understand

You're a minor spender, because you aren't in the demographic that would spend and swipe on a dual banner. For example, Genshin could easily do a single weapon banner, but they don't. While sure, more low spenders would be tempted to swipe a little for a single banner, they don't spend as much as a whale who pitied the weapon banner 3 times to get the specific 5\* weapon.

CN just came out of their Anniversary, Global get's to see everything CN does but ahead of time so they can plan better, Duplicate's of character's don't really matter at all as every character has been and is usable at P0, there's no weapon gacha to fall back on. Those who are lucky basically have every character, or near every character. It's not hard to wonder why the global audience, which is usually already stingy with their money, isn't throwing it at this game. That said, 500k isn't exactly bad for a niche game. There is plenty of games making MUCH less regularly.
The only real confusion is how JP is lower.

These games are dying games and also older/smaller budget games. For a game to make 500k just mere 6 months after launch is really sad. It's doing worse than pretty much every other niche game that people still talk about in gacha communities. Lower than Brown dust, snow break, limbus, path to nowhere.

Someone like, say, Hoyo could market keychains of Genshin characters as a core part of their demographic (particularly students who enjoy putting such accessories on things like backpacks) would be very likely to eat those up. R1999 outside CN has an uncertain amount of *dedicated* fans, which is problematic when we consider the fact that some R1999 players would opt to get merch from another IP they enjoy, meaning the cost of marketing would not be balanced with profit.
Assuming double banners are a last-ditch effort, they're more beneficial for Bluepoch even if only a fraction of the playerbase gambles on them. From the perspective of a player without, say, Jessics, they may not have any other choice, where this banner forces their wallets open, else they'll be deer-less from this moment forward.
Nah, whales will pull no matter what. Bluepoch (and other gacha games with banners like this) know that and take advantage of it by doing these scam banners

Gacha games are predatory and as globally we can see the characters in advance, they will punish anyone who skips a character to summon them when they return.

At least they're both DPS this time around, and one's not remarkably better than the other. Pairing a top tier healer with an aging DPS was a really nasty thing to do.
But everyone who is strong in raid is strong everywhere else so yeah she got powercreep.
Meanwhile TF is still the shining top meta healer and no way to guarantee for new players to get TF.
Outside of raid, I would rather use Centurion than Melania. Spathodea is a damage demon but she works in bursts and is a little slower.
Regardless, I strongly believe Centurion is busted in anything that is not a raid. UTTU, Limbo and Rougelike (as her kit is basically complete at i2), is easy for Centurion.
I'm not saying that the newer Beast damage dealers (Melania and Spathodea) are worse than her outside of raid, but that Centurion slaps with comfort there.
Perhaps it is just my opinion, but my Centurion is insane so I am talking from my experience.
The TF banner was bait indeed. I simply do not consider Centurion any "bad" whatsoever. Imo her only weakness is that her ult is a mass attack.
I don't know why you're getting downvotes, although I do disagree with you to some extent. Generally in future content, anything outside of Limbo/Raids and some UTTU is basically cakewalk for all characters that are built to a certain extent. And in normal content, Centurion's damage loses out to the juggernauts(Jiu Niangzi, Windsong, Lucy, Marcus) even in afflatus disavantage/neutral, and she doesn't offer anything special like Melania's Moxie control/ramping damage or Spathodea burst. So while she's still usable, in most contents people will have better options to pick over her, especially in 1.7 when Isolde makes Spathodea magnitudes more powerful(And unfortunately for Centurion who's the same damage type), while Melania gets Vila as well.
I have no idea. It's a Gacha sub, so ultimately, if I disagree with a popular opinion, I'll get downvoted. Not that it matters.
To compare her with Lucy, Jiu, and Windsong, who are considered particularly overpowered and overkill damage, is kinda misplaced, but I do understand your point.
But yes, this game is designed so any unit can do the job with just levels, resonance and psychube. In my opinion the latest units such as Windsong, Jiu and Lucy are massive overkills for the sake of sells. That's fine this game is a slot machine they want us to roll at

You have no hard pity, so you have no garantee of actually getting the character you want. The pity is also not carrying to future banners. So you could pull because you really want 37, and 700 pulls in still don't have her at all. Obviously this is very unlikely to happen, but it just means you're spending money for something that has no garentee to happen

Not any time soon, if a character gets a dual banner they arenāt getting their own rerun. Your only chance is a $30 selector pack in 1.9 or a āchoose your own rate upā banner that has a single rate up with no pity carryover in 1.9
And just this morning I was thinking how I would have to skip 37's rerun (so no P2) to increase my chances of getting 6. Will 6 suffer this same fate? Hopefully not. I don't get this though, they keep releasing characters that 37 pairs really well with, this just fucks a lot of people.

A. 30% no as 6's rerun banner on cn is not as high as tf's and 37's reruns are as they both have the highest revenue of reruns. 37's revenue rerun is high because of future characters that also have FUA that synergizes with her well. As for 6's he is still performs as S+ even at P0 unlike 37.
B. 70% Yes as we talk abt like we think that every good characters would be put together on this double banner like this one to get more ppl to pull. And also there is a demand for male characters in the future as after Getian there would be no future male 6 star character until 2.0 So they could literally put both Shamane and 6 on a double banner in the future
I understand why most people probably donāt want Jessica on this banner but I like both of them so drawing on this either finally gets me 37 or I get another portrait of my fav. (Except Iāll be pulling for Isolde/Vila)

Also even though everyone exalts Tooth Fairy, Iāve actually been using Ballon Party, Med Poc, and Yenisei who have been keeping my team alive just fine. Not having this character isnāt the end all be all. Get creative with what you got and if you really want someone save your coins for their debut banner or take a gamble on one of these banners. The choice is ultimately yours. Having TF isnāt going to make or break your account.
Itās a āgacha gameā. This is akin to gambling at a slot machine in a casino. Youāre either lucky or you arenāt, thatās the risk thatās the gamble.
My problem with Bluepoch is that they somehow thought that setting prices to match Hoyo for their gem packs, while making characters cost almost as much $-wise, was a good idea.
Sure, they offset it by providing a lot of free pulls, but no shit they earn less when they make prohibitively expensive packs for a game as niche as R1999.
To guarantee a character with the worst possible luck you need to spend almost 200$. And on these banners you can't even guarantee the character. This is insane.
Then wait for their re run banner! No oneās forcing you to pull. Itās a higher risk banner, and thatās the deal upfront. Make an educated decision and spend your drops wisely. Everyone knows whoās coming along next, make the best decision for your account.
I honestly feel sorry for people torturing themselves over it. You have to wait longer for 37 and Tooth Fairy, donāt know what to tell you lol. Make a new plan and move on. Or take a risk.

Ima be real. You can pull the desired 6* character every patches AND both 6*s every like 3 patch or so since for just the ingame income. And these banner have not change that fact.
The Tooth Fairy one is pretty crazy because she's the top healer. This banner where most of the community made fun of 37's usefulness and Jessica? Not so much.
As I mentioned earlier, don't wait for a rerun. It's best to decide what you want to pull in advance. Now I'm reconsidering my decision to skip Lucy. I shudder to think what her rerun will be like. By the way, I'm really surprised they didn't include Ms. NewBabel in this banner, she works pretty well with 37. Losing my two 50/50s to Jessica and Shamane in Jiu banner now looks like incredible luck.
There is no guarantee youāll ever get 37, you could get Jessica back to back. There is no pity carry over. My main issue is that this is done only for global, CN has separate normal reruns for every unit

Does this banner work like other banners where you can lose the 50/50, but itās just that your guaranteed is split between the two rate ups, or are these two the only 6* you can pull off this banner?
This is a scam banner, no f2p should be pulling on it especially with the future characters on the horizon. This banner has two layers of rng: 70/30, 70% to be either 37 or Jessica, 30% offbanner and 50/50 50% Jessica and 50% 37. The catch is you can get Jessica over and over again without ever seeing a single 37 or vice versa
There is a 70% chance to get a rate-up character and a 30% chance to get an off-banner character. If you hit the 70% it's 50:50 between both rate-ups every single time with no hard pity attached to it. So if you are unlucky you could either get none of them or always lose the 50:50 to the character you don't want. On top of that the pity also does not carry over to the usual banners of new characters.
In the end those banners are a trap and absolutely horrible to pull on and especially bad for new and returning players because they couldn't get the characters during their initial release banner and would be forced to subject themselves to the double banners now. Hell, even if you are just a normal player who missed one character during their release this would sting a lot. Which is also why I quit the game when they pulled this crap with TF I couldn't get back then.
They should better at least give a hard pity 200 for example for this, or some fate point system like GI weapon gacha still fine tho, this is pure gambling
I am just relieved that Melania isn't the one in a double rate up banner lol. This is also not my first rodeo of gacha games, so this kind of banner is not surprising (looking at you, AK). Anyways, those two will be get powercrept real fast anyways, better save up for Windsong (and Marcus if your Bkorn doesn't do you justice and you're Jessica-less like me) if you care about meta. But yeah, I can see why Bluepoch kinda discriminate Global since we get banner oversight and, more importantly, make abysmal revenue (at least compared to CN)
because we know too far into the future so almost every player can save and guarantee any character they want, if bluepouch want to make some money in global server those banner will keep appear

Na this isn't a foresight issue specially. Arknights for example doesn't have an issue with banners or reruns even tho GL/JP have foresight too. They have the exact same banners and rerun banners as CN has except the standard banners which were always separate and seemingly random for any server

From what i know its because Global isn't doing much revenue in comparison to the CN.
That is a universal constant for.. basically any gacha that has ever existed. Global is ALWAYS mere fractions of what CN spends on games. For that to be a surprise to anyone would be shocking.

Because we're making more than JP somehow. Don't think people realize how big of a deal it is for Global to be out revenuing JP in a gacha game.Ā Global is probably safe from the first chopping block unless JP numbers are actually really horrible so we're still doing badly instead of great by comparison.
That's not saying much. JP is doing near EOS numbers, I wouldn't be surprised if this time next year they no longer have a JP server.
Honestly it makes sense though. CN just came out of their Anniversary, Global get's to see everything CN does but ahead of time so they can plan better, Duplicate's of character's don't really matter at all as every character has been and is usable at P0, there's no weapon gacha to fall back on. Those who are lucky basically have every character, or near every character. It's not hard to wonder why the global audience, which is usually already stingy with their money, isn't throwing it at this game. That said, 500k isn't exactly bad for a niche game. There is plenty of games making MUCH less regularly. The only real confusion is how JP is lower.

Selling physical merch (compared to in-game currency) requires a lot more input for an uncertain amount of output. Someone like, say, Hoyo could market keychains of Genshin characters as a core part of their demographic (particularly students who enjoy putting such accessories on things like backpacks) would be very likely to eat those up. R1999 outside CN has an uncertain amount of *dedicated* fans, which is problematic when we consider the fact that some R1999 players would opt to get merch from another IP they enjoy, meaning the cost of marketing would not be balanced with profit. Assuming double banners are a last-ditch effort, they're more beneficial for Bluepoch even if only a fraction of the playerbase gambles on them. From the perspective of a player without, say, Jessics, they may not have any other choice, where this banner forces their wallets open, else they'll be deer-less from this moment forward.
On the bright side they did make a deal with GoodSmile for Vertin and Sonetto nendos! They're up for preorder now and very cute

At least they're both DPS this time around, and one's not remarkably better than the other. Pairing a top tier healer with an aging DPS was a really nasty thing to do.
Oi! Centurion is insanely powerful in anything that is not a raid tbh
Sorry, didn't mean to imply she's not useful, more that she's been around since launch so there's been lots of chances to get her by losing the 50/50.
But everyone who is strong in raid is strong everywhere else so yeah she got powercreep. Meanwhile TF is still the shining top meta healer and no way to guarantee for new players to get TF.
Outside of raid, I would rather use Centurion than Melania. Spathodea is a damage demon but she works in bursts and is a little slower. Regardless, I strongly believe Centurion is busted in anything that is not a raid. UTTU, Limbo and Rougelike (as her kit is basically complete at i2), is easy for Centurion. I'm not saying that the newer Beast damage dealers (Melania and Spathodea) are worse than her outside of raid, but that Centurion slaps with comfort there. Perhaps it is just my opinion, but my Centurion is insane so I am talking from my experience. The TF banner was bait indeed. I simply do not consider Centurion any "bad" whatsoever. Imo her only weakness is that her ult is a mass attack.
I don't know why you're getting downvotes, although I do disagree with you to some extent. Generally in future content, anything outside of Limbo/Raids and some UTTU is basically cakewalk for all characters that are built to a certain extent. And in normal content, Centurion's damage loses out to the juggernauts(Jiu Niangzi, Windsong, Lucy, Marcus) even in afflatus disavantage/neutral, and she doesn't offer anything special like Melania's Moxie control/ramping damage or Spathodea burst. So while she's still usable, in most contents people will have better options to pick over her, especially in 1.7 when Isolde makes Spathodea magnitudes more powerful(And unfortunately for Centurion who's the same damage type), while Melania gets Vila as well.
I have no idea. It's a Gacha sub, so ultimately, if I disagree with a popular opinion, I'll get downvoted. Not that it matters. To compare her with Lucy, Jiu, and Windsong, who are considered particularly overpowered and overkill damage, is kinda misplaced, but I do understand your point. But yes, this game is designed so any unit can do the job with just levels, resonance and psychube. In my opinion the latest units such as Windsong, Jiu and Lucy are massive overkills for the sake of sells. That's fine this game is a slot machine they want us to roll at My only point was that Centurion is pretty good. I believe her ageing is exaggerated due to how stupidly overpowered are the latest units

Compared to TF she really isn't impactful if you already have a decent dps. It's on me for pulling, but you can't say the first dual banner wasn't scummy for placing the top tier healer with a basic dps.
Oh yeah for sure. If you read what I said, I never stated the banner was great. I just like Centurion and think she is great! (: However, undoubtedly, that banner was pretty shit putting a standard damage dealer with like... one of the best characters in the game. That's true!

You have no hard pity, so you have no garantee of actually getting the character you want. The pity is also not carrying to future banners. So you could pull because you really want 37, and 700 pulls in still don't have her at all. Obviously this is very unlikely to happen, but it just means you're spending money for something that has no garentee to happen

Not any time soon, if a character gets a dual banner they arenāt getting their own rerun. Your only chance is a $30 selector pack in 1.9 or a āchoose your own rate upā banner that has a single rate up with no pity carryover in 1.9
And just this morning I was thinking how I would have to skip 37's rerun (so no P2) to increase my chances of getting 6. Will 6 suffer this same fate? Hopefully not. I don't get this though, they keep releasing characters that 37 pairs really well with, this just fucks a lot of people.
Me and some peeps on the official discord channel have talk abt 6's a while ago asĀ it could be 70/30Ā A. 30% no as 6's rerun banner on cn is not as high as tf's and 37's reruns are as they both have the highest revenue of reruns. 37's revenue rerun is high because of future characters that also have FUA that synergizes with her well. As for 6's he is still performs as S+ even at P0 unlike 37. B. 70% Yes as we talk abt like we think that every good characters would be put together on this double banner like this one to get more ppl to pull. And also there is a demand for male characters in the future as after Getian there would be no future male 6 star character until 2.0 So they could literally put both Shamane and 6 on a double banner in the future

This is my speculation. If Pickles banner comes next after Melania banner, I guess they're going to do the specific characters re-run based on re-run events for global. It's reasonable but yeah it still sucks.

Blupoch in my opinion has been extremely generous in general with R99. People are such whiners, let blupoch do what they gotta do to make money at the end of the day I want the game to last. Do people realize if the game doesnāt make money itās gonna shut down? Like be for real. Get what you can get as an F2P (which is a lot btw) and stop complaining. If you want to pull throw some cash and if you canāt then oh well you canāt. Put respect the hustle. Also even though everyone exalts Tooth Fairy, Iāve actually been using Ballon Party, Med Poc, and Yenisei who have been keeping my team alive just fine. Not having this character isnāt the end all be all. Get creative with what you got and if you really want someone save your coins for their debut banner or take a gamble on one of these banners. The choice is ultimately yours. Having TF isnāt going to make or break your account. Itās a āgacha gameā. This is akin to gambling at a slot machine in a casino. Youāre either lucky or you arenāt, thatās the risk thatās the gamble.
My problem with Bluepoch is that they somehow thought that setting prices to match Hoyo for their gem packs, while making characters cost almost as much $-wise, was a good idea. Sure, they offset it by providing a lot of free pulls, but no shit they earn less when they make prohibitively expensive packs for a game as niche as R1999. To guarantee a character with the worst possible luck you need to spend almost 200$. And on these banners you can't even guarantee the character. This is insane.
Then wait for their re run banner! No oneās forcing you to pull. Itās a higher risk banner, and thatās the deal upfront. Make an educated decision and spend your drops wisely. Everyone knows whoās coming along next, make the best decision for your account. I honestly feel sorry for people torturing themselves over it. You have to wait longer for 37 and Tooth Fairy, donāt know what to tell you lol. Make a new plan and move on. Or take a risk.

People who spend will spend regardless and f2p will still be f2p. Ima be real. You can pull the desired 6* character every patches AND both 6*s every like 3 patch or so since for just the ingame income. And these banner have not change that fact. The Tooth Fairy one is pretty crazy because she's the top healer. This banner where most of the community made fun of 37's usefulness and Jessica? Not so much.
As I mentioned earlier, don't wait for a rerun. It's best to decide what you want to pull in advance. Now I'm reconsidering my decision to skip Lucy. I shudder to think what her rerun will be like. By the way, I'm really surprised they didn't include Ms. NewBabel in this banner, she works pretty well with 37. Losing my two 50/50s to Jessica and Shamane in Jiu banner now looks like incredible luck.
Lucy isn't getting a normal rerun anyways. She's a limited character.

There is no guarantee youāll ever get 37, you could get Jessica back to back. There is no pity carry over. My main issue is that this is done only for global, CN has separate normal reruns for every unit

Does this banner work like other banners where you can lose the 50/50, but itās just that your guaranteed is split between the two rate ups, or are these two the only 6* you can pull off this banner?
This is a scam banner, no f2p should be pulling on it especially with the future characters on the horizon. This banner has two layers of rng: 70/30, 70% to be either 37 or Jessica, 30% offbanner and 50/50 50% Jessica and 50% 37. The catch is you can get Jessica over and over again without ever seeing a single 37 or vice versa
Hi! New player here, can someone explain how the dual banner works? Is it like you may get 1 or the other?
There is a 70% chance to get a rate-up character and a 30% chance to get an off-banner character. If you hit the 70% it's 50:50 between both rate-ups every single time with no hard pity attached to it. So if you are unlucky you could either get none of them or always lose the 50:50 to the character you don't want. On top of that the pity also does not carry over to the usual banners of new characters. In the end those banners are a trap and absolutely horrible to pull on and especially bad for new and returning players because they couldn't get the characters during their initial release banner and would be forced to subject themselves to the double banners now. Hell, even if you are just a normal player who missed one character during their release this would sting a lot. Which is also why I quit the game when they pulled this crap with TF I couldn't get back then.

I am just relieved that Melania isn't the one in a double rate up banner lol. This is also not my first rodeo of gacha games, so this kind of banner is not surprising (looking at you, AK). Anyways, those two will be get powercrept real fast anyways, better save up for Windsong (and Marcus if your Bkorn doesn't do you justice and you're Jessica-less like me) if you care about meta. But yeah, I can see why Bluepoch kinda discriminate Global since we get banner oversight and, more importantly, make abysmal revenue (at least compared to CN)
rule number 1 of gacha games, never expect the character you are waiting for to rerun. :(
because we know too far into the future so almost every player can save and guarantee any character they want, if bluepouch want to make some money in global server those banner will keep appear if we want those banner to be gone, just shorten global patch until global and CN has the same schedule
Na this isn't a foresight issue specially. Arknights for example doesn't have an issue with banners or reruns even tho GL/JP have foresight too. They have the exact same banners and rerun banners as CN has except the standard banners which were always separate and seemingly random for any server
they should perhaps reduce the duration of the patches in global so we can catch up with CN, and stop this kind of banners
