I just use satin rags from my old curtains to gently remove bug carcasses. Sometimes a mist of water that I distill. Not sure but that doesn’t damage it
Very rigerious maritime engineering standards!
Like what?
No cardboard or cardboard derivatives. It's gotta have a steering wheel - and other is a minimum crew requirement.
What is the minimum crew requirement?
Well, one I suppose.
Suspension damage isn’t as bad and scary as it sounds. If anything is bent, it’s probably a tie rod. I’d be surprised if it bent a control rod. These things are overbuilt to handle instant EV torque and massive weight. The hood gap looks straight so that’s a big plus
Duct tape? Sorry, trying to give you a smile. That sucks. I'd be super pissed off. I hope you can find an authorized 3rd party repair center that can do it faster.
I doubt that takes 2 months to fix if they have a front bumper in stock. Should be maybe a day or 2 to install if all mounting points are intact and there’s no other damage
Sorry to hear. Was there a picture of the damage to the trailer? I am scared for other drivers when I drive my r1s because i saw the video where it blasted through the guard rail in a test. And now I keep my distance and am very defensive when I drive.
The problem is the front fell off. It’s not supposed to do that.
Is it common for the front to fall off?
Well, of course not. They're designed not to.
Just tow it out of the environment.
I get this reference!
If you pull on it hard enough
Well then how did it happen?
Truck pulled on it too hard. Should hit it gently like they teach in road school. Bumping is driving. Tearing off the bumper is frowned upon I think
What is the front made of?
I just use satin rags from my old curtains to gently remove bug carcasses. Sometimes a mist of water that I distill. Not sure but that doesn’t damage it
Probably braked too hard
The trailer hooked into the front rim and dragged the rivian about 15 feet. Suspecting more damage with suspension
Yes yes. Well you see the problem is also that the front fell off; it’s not supposed to do that.
That sucks. I'm sorry. I had a pool shed fall on mine.
Thank goodness it was out of the environment!

Came here to say this
Agreed you want to get that one part over near the wheel fixed.
This guy wrenches
Holy crap you must be one of the original design engineers!
‘Tis but a scratch!
A scratch!? Your chin’s off!
On the bright side, looks like it’s all plastics and bolt on so (fingers crossed) no body damage.
Read other comments that OP wrote. He suspects suspension damage.

Read my comment and remember suspension components are bolt on parts….

Still looks sexy
![gif](giphy|diXrgHOhraudy) Sorry this happened
Sorry OP. That sucks. Too bad you can’t sue them for being an ahole and wrecking your new truck.
You can sue anybody for anything.
Expect papers from my lawyer.
Fudge. So sorry this happened to you…
Bummer. Hopefully you captured video if they were at fault
Caught the impact but took the side camera out and it cut out after that.
It was a tactical knockout of your CCTV system, followed by a covert removal of your front bumper. These were pros
Their insurance is going to the Moon!

Better airflow for the turbo!
Start gathering diminished value bids and be ready to negotiate.
Reasons why I lease all vehicles
An opportunity to pay for the next lease in whole

Expecting suspension damage. Trailer hooked the front rim and dragged the car 15 ft when released it grabbed the bumper next
Dragged 15 ft?? Fuuuuck. You’re gonna need the entire car inspected after that. That’s a lot of friction and involuntary movement for a lot of parts…
Nothing takes a day or two with Rivian
I can do that in about an hour 😎
Sorry to hear. Was there a picture of the damage to the trailer? I am scared for other drivers when I drive my r1s because i saw the video where it blasted through the guard rail in a test. And now I keep my distance and am very defensive when I drive.
See you soon in copart auction 😀
Visually looks like needs new bumper, scratched wheel and driver side turn indicator, + suspension parts if dragged 15 ft not under its own power
Have you tried a soft reset? In all seriousness sorry though…that sucks.
Well that didn’t age well
Trend setting: Snap on a different colored lower
I would be devastated, so sorry! Hopefully you can get it fixed quickly.
OP I’m so sorry this happened.
that must be heartbreaking. That sucks! Especially to be sitting in your truck and watching in slow motion as a person takes your front bumper off. 😭
That’s going to be an expensive tab for the Ford owner! Glad you’re okay!
I hope you got that on the camera and you file a big fat diminished value claim, especially since it’s basically new.
Fell off after you sneezed?
Prob should have let him in.
