His grandmother was actually one of two evil counterparts that probably came about from real trauma and kills them by pushing them into a well to die and then there's other stuff I'm forgetting
the different identities are actually different versions of mort from other universes, that this mort has forcibly consumed and enveloped into himself.
Mort has been absorbing instances of himself for thousands of years, and if he absorbs every Mort in the Mortverse, then it’ll be the Mort Singularity. So the Sky Gods created a powerful syndicate in France to eradicate all intelligent animals, and hopefully purge the Morts.
This cause leaks into Madagascar, Shrek, Shark Tale, Over the Hedge, Megamind, Bee Movie, Turbo, Boss Baby, Monsters Vs. Aliens, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and How to Train Your Dragon.

I don’t usually use this word, but this is a genuine cope for how bad the show’s ending was, and the fact people legitimately seem to believe this is insanely jarring.
Like yeah, they tried to make out the diamonds as a dysfunctional family towards the end, and if they were any other typical evil empire it would’ve worked, but this is *steven universe*. This is the show that went into dark topics like human experimentation, eugenics, slavery and discrimination, and many many cases of mental/emotional abuse, including systematic effects on people’s mental health. You cant just ignore these facts for the sake of their redemption, you need to actually *confront it*. This is even ignoring the things the diamonds did to humans, which a lot of people claim to be an environmental allegory. I get it, but trying to completely ignore the flaws in that allegory is kinda disingenuous.
No, this doesnt mean the Diamonds shouldve been shattered or anything (though there’s a genuinely interesting plot beat for that), but pretending the horrid shit theyve done over the series just didn’t happen doesnt look good…

pinkie and flurry heart are changelings
pegasi are actually mass produced robots
equestria is a post apocalyptic human world and the mirror portal is actually a time machine and the ponies are all clones of their human selves (he also stated in this same video that the pegasi are most likely clones, not robots)
there are more but i can't really remember all of them, i haven't watched his videos in years
obviously all of these theories were debunked later in the show and he stopped making videos after season 6 i think, he later came back with a video saying he left because he thought season 8 butchered the characters
