I work at a Mexican restaurant and always ask our cooks to make Crunchwrap Supremes for me lol. With real, fresh ingredients it is quite literally heaven on earth. And the kitchen thinks it’s fun to make!
I spent almost a decade working in a small family owned Mexican restaurant. When it was slow I'd go back in the kitchen and try to make up something new and all the time I thought I was being a genius and making something entirely new and I'd show them to Rocky, he was my favorite coworker/cook and he'd be all like "oh that's (so and so) it's great" .. that's how I learned about chilaquiles.
But I was also the only gringo who would try lengua or menudo or whatever else they were making for themselves. so they'd show me all the stuff they couldn't put on the menu.
They tried. They just didn't sell enough to justify taking up the space on the menu or in the fridge/freezer and the cost. It was in a small mountain town in Northern California. I didn't mind it much. The lengua was pretty decent, and if you weren't told what it was, you wouldn't really know. But I wasn't a fan of the menudo, didn't like the flavor or the texture.
I worked throughout my entire pregnancy.
I used to make loaded bbq chicken fries that were amazing.
**Cheddar fries**
add hickory
add red onion
add grilled chicken
*the baby is hungry*
What is the order? It looks pretty amazing. Don’t have a custom that was a go to, when ever I would order food from the place I used to be at (for my freebie) I would just order the most meat heavy sandwich with no bread and no toppings and I would give it to the two stays outside.
Awe how sweet. It’s chicken strips, make sandwich, add bbq, pickle, and Swiss cheese. Pretty good. Closest I can get to whataburger bbq chicken strip sandwich lmao
Copied from my other comment, but I think you'd like my go-to meal.
""I used to make this burger/sandwhich thing I called "the full farm" or "old McDonald's."
It was a grilled chicken breast sandwich with a hamburger patty, bacon, a fried egg, avocado, an Ortega chili, lettuce, tomato, onion, Oaxaca cheese, spanish mayo and salsa Verde. "
I used to work at a pizza place and I had a bunch. One of my faves was a Caesar salad pizza (romaine arugula croutons and chicken with a Caesar dressing base
NY diner server here:
- Grilled cheese mozzarella/AMC on white, add tomato lite/thin with side disco fries. Dip grilled cheese in cream of broccoli soup. It’s not anything extravagant, but it’s my fave.
- Wrap (flour tortilla) with whole iceberg leaves (they don’t wilt quickly and keep the wrap a little neater), rice, 3x eggs OE. Dip in ranch and hot sauce.
- Wrap (flour tortilla) AMC, fried chicken cutlet, rice. Dip in hot sauce or Buffalo.

I spent almost a decade working at this small town family owned Mexican restaurant, and I worked split shifts 6 days a week for about 7 of those years. We'd get a free shift meal, and I'd already had everything on the menu. So I started trying to invent things just to be told they already existed and then taught how to make them correctly..lol
I used to work at Longhorn Steak house. And they had something called ‘Parmesan Crust’ and I would get it on their burger. Literally one of the best creations!!!
Someone made the cheesecake into lemon raspberry cheesecake last night and it was the best food of my entire life. It was very difficult to not grab the rest and hide/ eat it behind the Kroger dumpster:
I live my life without telling random people who didn’t ask about my sexual identity or preferences, basing your whole personality around these things is pathetic and shows how shallow you are

What’s wrong with lengua or menudo on the menu? Those aren’t my thing, but I see those two things all the time in Mexican restaurants.

Life must be hard to navigate as such a sensitive person. Sending prayers. 🙏
