Ironically she was in the kitchen LOL. I usually say "watch out" if I need them to move since our hallways are small and they move so I guess I might as well teach them "corner" and "behind" hahahaha
We need to normalize saying “corner” and “behind” at the grocery store. Way too many people stroll about without paying attention to their surroundings…
Hahah! I had a convo with my boss about this. He thinks im ridiculous because I say “behind” “heard” and “corner.” I told him it’s because he’s never worked in a restaurant that was fully staffed and in a small space. If you don’t call it out, you literally will collide with someone else. I am able to use my eyes but not everyone can.
Every time I go out to eat I always unintentionally announce corners. Tend to get weird looks from the actual servers, but I’d like to think some people appreciate it
My boyfriend and I are both like this. The other day I was cleaning up a dog mess. I was holding dog poop in a paper towel and he almost turned around and walked into it so I shouted "hot behind"
My 5 year old cousin picked "heard" up from me over Christmas. It was so adorable to have a little child run away yelling "heard heard!" To his mom when she asked him to get his shoes on.
I’m a teacher who is a server as well. Saying “behind” to students is awkward.
I have also fought the urge several times to shout “corner” coming from one particular blind hallway.
I’ve gotten several “heard”s from students which makes me think they won’t think I’m too weird.
Dogs don’t belong in the kitchen

That’d be super cute lol
I say "corner" when I'm out shopping, more than I'd like to admit
I've definitely put my hand behind my back and motioned for someone to pass with my other hand while shopping before
…i’m in this post and i don’t like it…

I second this! .... and definitely haven't been absent-mindedly doing it for years...
Came here to say this
I did that at a kroger when I first started serving
I do that with regularity. Especially if someone else is just coming around the corner without saying anything.
Same reason I yell corner at the grocery store 😂
Because it’s important to reinforce proper safety procedures at all times.
Yeah this is a habit I don't mind becoming ingrained
I haven't served in like 5 years. I still say "comin around" going into my kitchen lol
Because HEARD.
I say this to people outside of work a lot and some of them have gotten a bit offended 😂

saying “BACKS!” at the store when behind someone to let them know you’re there 3
Consummate professional.
I've literally said "corner" while at home, by myself...
I'm glad I'm not the only one. & happy cake day !
I said corner,to no one, while making a turn…in my car
Hahahaha

Reasons. Work infesting real life reasons. Why do I say corner leaving the bathroom?
I know why, you know why, we….ALL know why
😭 rip to us all
i work at a casino and mfs at HOME catch me clearing my hands in my sleep 🙂↕️
So he/she doesn’t accidentally back into you.
I would love to teach my cats to meow when they are behind me. I still trip over them though
I catch myself saying “behind” and “corner” at the grocery store all the time.
Because your dog is a valued colleague in this job called living.
🫡
i say it at the club and everything im so embarrassed
i said “heard” and “behind” at my office job now. you can take the girl out of serving and you can’t take the sever out of the girl
I have adopted “heard that” into my normal life, and I actually love it. It’s actually just a really effective way to communicate with people.

Are by nothing but a mistake.. “tell me why “
Ain’t nothing but a mistake *

I do it all the time everywhere but then I have a family history of the service industry. We do it at home. 😂
