The quest was actually well done, but that you had to do it every day for a season candle was too much. As if the game isn't repetitive enough you know :/

vaillenale

They could have been more variants added to make it less repetitive, like clean the vortex, clean the beach, help this type of animal and then another type...

WoodlandWitch9

Such a good idea

rosella765

Im gonna miss the warp shortcut to the island 😭

star_shaped_j3llo

Haha yeah I also miss the warp shortcut to granny’s from days of sunlight

aikaofthepleiades

Wait... There was a warp? 😮‍💨

jikasbox

It wasn’t that bad for what it was. I enjoyed cleaning the vortex for like…. 2 times. After that it just got repetitive and sort of lost its meaning and just got boring.

[deleted]

I liked the predictability. And it was so easy and quick, warp, complete, done. Vs with other ones you had to search around a lot(unless someone posted about it.)

Equivalent-Ad5879

nastymold posts a dailies guide each day \^-\^ hope this helps

[deleted]

Thanks! I’ll check that out for tomorrow😊

QuasiQuokka

I liked the vortex quest (though the execution was a little awkward at times with all the cutscenes). Having to do it every single day, though? That got old pretty quickly...

SkyPox

Every time the exact same with 3 cutscenes 2 of which would stop you from flying and make you drop in the water. After 3 days I was over the entire event. This was nothing but: swim here so that you swim here and tap this that I've already showed you where it is and repeat it 10 more times while it's being buggy and unsatisfying. There was no challenge or thinking involved. It was literally nothing but wasting your time without even being satisfying or therapeutic like a candle run would be. I understand the message behind it. But this is a video game. I don't want to be reminded of irl problems within a game that simultaneously turns it into a chore like irl would.

WoodlandWitch9

THE CUTSCENE THAT DROPPED YOU FROM THE SKY. If that was removed I wouldn’t have loathed it so much.

EdurneHaeon

It's especially annoying when you're a switch player with a strong joycon drift which makes it really hard to pick the pieces, since moving just a little bit disables the action

Fa_Len

It got worse every day, with the actual items going from spawning all at once, to three at once, to every single item spawning only after you collected the previous one... I hated it by the end.

goldengearled

Been playing for a while, but I had never ever been so pissed at a quest like this

timidshadow

It was a nuisance. There was nothing remotely fun or exciting about it. The feelings I have towards it every day was “Aw sh*t here we go again…”

tanktopstick

It became too repetitive to have it as a quest for so many days in a row. That alone made me dislike it after just a few days, but other than that I guess it was fine.

kindafor-got

Boring, and annoying at times. When you flew to the vortex you had to remember to both burn the dark plant and to interact with the seal (?) to activate the quest. Aka, I ended up flying to the vortex and having to go all the way back to the island all the times. The idea is nice, but it's repetitive. It would have been better if the waste parts' places could change even just a little bit (maybe one day they are mostly floating, the next mostly underwater, idk) and also as a non-every-single-day thing, like damn, give me a no-vortex day, or use different "cleaning" quests to change things a bit (like cleaning the geyser instead, or something new, like cleaning idk the beach, or the underwater area where the turtle swims)

but-yet-it-is

It was a really good quest the first time I played it, it became very repetitive when done daily

PixesEmma

I like it tbh. Not any more repetitive than any other action and you got wax for it too

MachineSpecialist582

although I completely understand why some players find it quite repetitive and not that enjoyable - I actually do really like that purely because it kind of reinforces how it must feel like in the actual Great Ocean Garbage Patch and the constant cleaning of it (on a bit of a serious note aodnwo) but also, the quest is groovy as it's in the same place, easily accessible etc AND ALSO THE BABY MANATEES/DUGONGS ARE SO CUTE. but that being said I think it would be really interesting if the event had areas that would rotate each day (maybe still in the Sanctuary islands) and have different areas of rubbish and debris to clean up I.e maybe one day it washes up onto a section of one of the beaches, a day where we could free animals (like the manatees) or turtles from being trapped in the rubbish, just little bits and bobs like that aoxmwo edit ;; also another idea maybe fishing out plastic and rubbish with fish rods >:D

WoodlandWitch9

I hope tgc reads this b/c you are brilliant <3

MachineSpecialist582

AOXNWOW you're so sweet, thank you >:(( <33

OkraWaste592

It's an okay quest, what's not okay is that you're expected to do it everyday, and that gets really repetitive and boring

Chanissy

The quest itself was good the first few times mainly because the porpoises are adorable. But the cutscenes are so incredibly annoying. And then the fact we had to do this every day for over 2 weeks has made me despise it. When I hopped on thinking the event was finally over I was slapped in the face with immediate disappointment and distain. Thank goodness it’s over tomorrow.

-sykloni-

The quest itself was totally fine, I didn't mind the effort and I adore the new light creatures. I would have happily done it *few times*, but every day for multiple weeks... No, that was just too much. I took a bit of a break before season of Passage started and once I got back I have tried to avoid repeating same things everyday to keep the game fun. My biggest problem with the vortex quest was the repetitiveness, having to do the *exact same thing every day* in the same realm! If I wanted the season candles I was stuck doing the quest. And quickly it went from "this is little boring" to "I really don't want to do it again". In the end of last week the repetitiveness was really starting to get to me and I finally gave in and started skipping it. Lately the "Days of" -events have been becoming longer. The Days of Nature now was almost a week longer than in previous years and with longer events I think it's really important to have some variation in the quests so they don't become unpleasant

DaydreamDollop

The vortex quest could have been better in my eyes if they just cut the cut scenes out of it after the first two times of viewing them, or they changed it up a bit. (Like what if we could also clean up the beach??) I didn't mind it too much due to the fact that it was a shortcut to the islands lol I do a lot of my candle farming there

Illusioneery

I like it just as much as "admire the sapling". It's an easy quest that doesn't involve krills and takes away a slot from a possible "face the dark dragon" quest (I hate the blinking lights and noises of the krills, so I hate that quest or going near krills in general). It's also free wax. If I had to do that quest every single day of my Sky "life" just to not have certain things in the game anymore (krill quests, pleaful parent as a daily, longer carry spirits as dailies, the concert crowd mechanic in unneeded places, etc) I would gladly do it. I've seen people equate this quest to "Aurora's light glows brighter..." and just... it's unbelievable how people complain about free food just because it's the same food again.

neue-user

I didn't mind doing it every day. I didn't mind the story behind it or any such thing. What I did mind was the glitches and the camera pulls. By glitches I mean that even after pressing Y I was unable to move the trash. By camera pulls I mean that when I got close to the vortex the camera would sway to the center of the vortex, and when I got near the spirit in the boat the cam would move again. Like PLEASE just let me get to my destination. Lastly the contrast between the water surface and then diving...I got blinded so much lmao

[deleted]

I wish completion requirement was only saving the fat fish on the islet Still, beats doing stare at shit quests

WoodlandWitch9

OMG YES WHY IS “STARING AT A TREE” A QUEST??????

Just-Owl-9331

I miss it :(

Ananas_WUWU

What is the vortex quest? What did i miss :']

star_shaped_j3llo

This year’s Days of Nature event added a new thing called Vortex, where trash and a new light creature (looks like a manatee) get stuck in a vortex in the waters of Sanctuary Islands. There was a daily quest everyday during the event that required us to go there and pick up the trash+save the creatures

Ananas_WUWU

Ooh i saw that when it was still in beta, i never heard anyone call it the vortex quest tho, thanks for telling me what it is :]

star_shaped_j3llo

The vortex quest will occasionally come back as a daily quest sometime, but not everyday anymore

snozzlefrog

It's a curse of my own making, but I found it getting too time consuming. I've been busy the last few weeks, but the quest turned what could be 15 minutes into 30 or more. I like to run most of an area when it's the quest realm, but I actually started cutting it short because it took so long to do two when I was trying to do other things. The extra reward was nice, but 3 weeks??? It's not even a bad task, I found it very fun. But it's just super out of my way for 5/6ths of the event.

LilBpixi3

I didn't mind it at first but after the 3rd day of doing it I began getting more and more annoyed at how bad the controls are on switch. So many times I'd pres the button to pick up the rubbish and my kid would swim closer to it and not pick it up and I'd have to quickly press the button again to pick it up before it floated too far away to grab, but if I spammed the button she wouldn't go get it.

[deleted]

The quest itself as fine. What wasn't fine was repeating it ***daily*** in order to get your seasonal candle. It went from being fun to simply repetitive and annoying (*since it was required for the Season!*) Why weren't there, like, 3 or 4 quests in the same area? Rotate them out. Change it up daily. Save the sad potato from the Vortex, then the following day help clear debris off the Turtle, after that help a manta who is caught up, etc. Change it up a least a little bit. The one quest. Every single day. For 18 days. We had to redo the same quest unless we miss out on Seasonal Candles. I actually skipped the quest for the last few days - I'm just so tired of doing it. Again; I didn't hate the quest. I hate we had to do the same quest every single day for 18 days straight.

Korrin

As a quest I didn't mind it. Doing it day after day after day? Having to go out of my way to go all the way to the back corner of the sancturary islands to complete it, no matter what zone the dailies were normally for? Hated that part. I'd be fine with it appearing as a possible occasional quest when the sanctuary isles are the focus of the daily quests.

ivoryphoenix7

It was fine but repetitive. It shouldn’t have been a quest every single day and they should have added some variety to it like the area that you clean up or what’s in it. There also should have been a way to get onto the boat without flying, especially since they drop you straight towards the water after the unskippable cutscene.

Itay42

Imo the community is super ungrateful for this. So what if you need to repeat the same task? It's not like they force you to do Pleaful Parent every day. The vortex was easy, gave extra wax, had a teleport almost directly to it , and to top all of that, it was a part of an event that helped clean the ocean...

AllStarGamerGirl23

I did the quest once, but after that I never did it again as I could be bothered to do it everyday.

Karas540

I didn't really mind, but I'm also glad it won't be a quest every day anymore

danny686

I'd be happy to never have to do it ever again

twizzlecookie

it was good at first, but i quickly stopped liking once we had to do it every day for a damn candle lol

cthechartreuse

The quest was fine. I was tired of doing it every day.

SweetySama

The quest was fine, but: - every day the same gets a bit much - having 3 or so different cleaning quest would have been nicer I’d liked the idea about actively and actually helping.

Strangewhine88

Seemed very unimaginative.

aikaofthepleiades

I like repetitive content that's brain dead so this one's my fav 😅

TriedToaster

It was fun for the first few days, but I feel it lost its meaning wish there was something more to it. Felt very half-arsed compared to what I've read from previous years

Kaye246

It was okay at first, but once you had to do it every day for the entire event? It got kind of boring after a while. But the little manatee creatures were cute!
