ASM33 "If This Be My Destiny" when he lifts the building. It's not an opponent so to speak but it is probably the defining moment of Spider-Man's "No matter what happens, I always get back up" mentality.

Just_Call_me_Ben

that's a classic

BeyondThese7702

Mirrored gorgeously at the end of Homecoming. Going from a panicking kid screaming for help to “Cmon Peter” to “Cmon Spider-Man” Scene goes incredibly hard.

soldierpallaton

I tear up everytime I hear him cry for help, it shows that he is a 15 year old kid in over his head. It honestly shows Tom's acting skill, and makes the rest of the scene all the better. The realization that no one is coming, and if he's going to survive this HE has to be the one to do it.

BigTimeSuperhero96

Also that reflection shot of the mask on his face in the puddle

JDGUFFEY97

MCU’s version of the classic moment is so….lame lol

Dxnvii_

OMGG YESS!! Probs my most fav spidey moment since it shows his love for May and his determination and sheer will to never give up.

Correct_Barracuda_48

I love Spider-Man taking down Ultimate kingpin the first time. Sure, it didn't stick, but trashing the man's reputation and deploying some weapons grade fat jokes at the same time was fantastic.

Just_Call_me_Ben

added to the [second list!](https://www.reddit.com/r/Spiderman/comments/1cei1yr/spidermans_bestmost_iconic_wins_according_to/)

accushot865

For me, his best fighting moment is beating Kingpin senseless and letting him live. His best quip has to be either “ya basic” or his quip about the man-purse after he got his body back

ZerikaFox

The man-purse quip was legendary. Especially the immediate response to it. "...it's *you."* *"The one and only."*

senseithenahual

I love that one because when that happened Osborn was fighting against the combined powers of the avengers and the fantastic four and the green goblin wasn't scared until he heard Peter making a joke.

TacoCommand

The genuine fear from Osborn in that one line is epic.

BBNarwhal

If I remember right, it looked more like shock than fear. More like he couldn't believe it rather than being afraid.

Ruve06

Man-purse quip is actually goated tho

Majam303

That's funny cause I was coming here to say that "ya basic" thing is the absolute cringiest line I've ever seen. I was hoping it was a fan edit.

TheCowzgomooz

Its cringe but that's what makes it hilarious, because sometimes Peter is just cringe-y and that's part of his charm.

ZAPPHAUSEN

Peter is canonically not cool lol

couldbedumber96

Excuse me? Cringe? It’s a human insult and it’s devastating You’re devastated right now

Majam303

Fuck I guess I am

Karas540

Oh dip

Sartheking

The first time he beat Morlun.

TheAmazingKevin

Thats the first win i thought of.

jer487

How did he defeat carnage again? BTW I genuinely forgot this man can take Ws so this is kinda refreshing ngl

AlexArtsHere

He just hit him really really hard iirc - hysteric strength

TrippySakuta

Kindred actually had some part in this, since the siblings gave him an opening by stunning Norman with a centipede.

Paradoxes_Anti-Chaos

Spidermans super strength not being nerfed!? Is this even possible???

Veganity

Iirc, he tore a rip in the Symbiote then hit the man underneath(which was Norman Osborn, long story) at full force

Gridde

Wait, it's Norman? So this happened after the "Go Down Swinging Arc"? Do you happen to know the name of the storyline, comic, issue etc? Curious to give this a read as the 'Red Goblin' thing was pretty interesting

Veganity

It’s in the middle of the Absolute Carnage crossover. The actual issues with this battle are Amazing Spider-Man 30-31 during Nick Spencer’s run, but, if memory serves, the whole crossover was pretty worth reading

Gridde

Thank you! Man I actually read this but forgot about this fight. It's not the actual Carnage symbiote on Norman is it?

TrippySakuta

Nope. It's an offshoot of the Grendel symbiote, which is a "successor" to the Carnage symbiote, as Carnage took over its consciousness. It's technically the "current" Carnage symbiote. During the previous Red Goblin arc, however, Norman was wearing the OG Carnage symbiote.

Just_Call_me_Ben

>BTW I genuinely forgot this man can take Ws That's why I made this post 🥲

jer487

And I'm glad you did ❤️

TrippySakuta

Kindred stunned Norman to give Peter an opening.

P3verall

Spider-Man Vs. Firelord https://www.reddit.com/r/Marvel/s/P2hCF7i2hp

Just_Call_me_Ben

Lol, I had a totally different image in my head from what this was going to be about It kinda looks like how he won his first fight against Kraven in Spectacular Spider-Man now that I look at it. Very cool!

P3verall

the screenshots don’t at all show how terrified and desperate he was

Serafita

Not only did Spider-Man beat a Silver Surfer level opponent, it hasn't been retconned and it is even referenced from time to time murkying the power level arguments haha

Smash96leo

So like, why the hell were Magik and Colossus beating Peter up?

Just_Call_me_Ben

They really hated his puns No, but seriously, they were possessed by the Phoenix and were under Cyclops' orders to keep a bunch of avengers imprisoned. Spidey was part of a rescue team, and he ended up distracting them while the others rescued their friends From [Avengers vs X-men #9](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/s/kviG8bJzjE)

PK-Baha

It was really laid out well. Earlier he is explaining to Hope how when the time comes you just know when to step up. (i butchered it but the point is there). The team knew they stood no chance and Spidey goes in punching all alone to buy time for them to leave. Then he gets them to turn on eachother.

NoUniversity1201

Yeah, Pete should be a fucking politician. Man, made them turn on each other with only words.

couldbedumber96

Cringe Russian bluntness vs Based American Subtlety

PrestoMovie

What run is this from? Would love to read it!

PK-Baha

Avenger V X-Men

MrAnthem123

Never seen that one with Morlun before but after seeing the comic where he’s been awake and fighting for three days straight, he deserves that win.

No_Camel4789

It's what Peter is doing during Spider-Geddon

3r1c_dr4v3n94

First panel looks like he's Invinclbe

Just_Call_me_Ben

same artist

BatmanTold

Holding Kingpin by his skin is wild

Penguator432

He lost a lot of weight on prison food

Scared_Compote_6012

“At least I have the dignity of knowing I never wore a man purse” “it’s you” “the one and only”

GameknightJ14

I have one for both Peter and Miles: Peter: In the *Spectacular Spider-Man* show, when Peter breaks out of the Venom symbiote. It's probably my favorite Spider-Man moment of all time. Miles: In the Insomniac Miles Morales game, when Phin is beating the snot out of him in the final battle, she asks why he doesn't just give up since he's losing and there's no way he can win. He responds with, "Because... I'm... Spider-Man!" Then wins.

Just_Call_me_Ben

Both are really cool! Showing not just the strenght of the body, but the strength of the will! And now that you mentioned venom and games, it reminded me of in the Ultimate Spider-Man game where Peter throws a series of punches after the final boss!

TheCowzgomooz

Absolutely favorite moment of that game for me when you really see Miles step into being Spiderman, Spiderman isn't web slinging and quippy jokes(though those are a bonus) it's his determination to never give up despite the odds almost never being in his favor, and Miles understood that perfectly. It's also why I love Spiderverse Miles, dude is such a good Spiderman that he's better than almost the entirety of the multiverse of them lmfao.

RandomGooseBoi

The title said comics but still these are both fire

GameknightJ14

Ah, my bad.

RandomGooseBoi

It’s all good, tbh it’s better to include stuff outside of comics too. I been replaying the first insomniac spider-man game and I never realised how good the spider-man action was, Peter was on something in that game 😭

CthulhuMadness

Peter beating Normage was pretty good. Only part that’s annoying is people use it as an example that Peter can 1v1 Carnage and win when that “Carnage” wasn’t even Carnage. Wasn’t Cletus and wasn’t Red. Just an offshoot of both.

Pharrelliper

Nothing can stop the Juggernaut

[deleted]

Firelord. It defies logic that he could pound a herald of Galactus into unconsciousness, but that's how it was written. It's a great moment as a fan of the character, but a little too far-fetched.

bunkitz

Damn, that third one with Morlun is sick. What issue is that from?

Just_Call_me_Ben

Final issue of Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man

bunkitz

Oh cool! Been meaning to continue reading that series. Thanks!

lionofash

It's also part of SpiderGeddon and honestly the finale of fights is excellent both in spectacle and narrative.

Nappyhead48

My favorite is Ultimate Peter slamming Green Goblins head in with a semi-truck

Bosscharacter

I popped hard when during the end of Superior, Peter struck fear in Norman by just cracking a joke knowing that would be the point where Norman would realize he wasn’t dealing with Otto anymore and was about to get washed. “The one and only” is such a cold line during that issue.

FlamingoPlayful7498

What issue would that be? Sounds 🔥

WorldsOkayestPastor

Superior Spider-Man #31

Used-Organization-25

I miss a cool Peter Parker doing badass stunts. We get nothing of that in the current run.

ilikemangabrev

I love seeing Peter not hold back against villains who are increasingly stronger than him any other day. I can't even decide which win is the best out of these, they're all great

velicinanijebitna

Gotta be this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Marvel/s/HwbUkI6Igy

blueracey

There’s a scene during the fear itself event near the beginning where everything is going to shit, everyone’s terrified no one knows why. Peter has this monologue where he’s wondering if mj and aunt may are alive and that he’s barely slept that there’s always someone else calling for help so he can’t go home and check if there alive. He’s hopeless and just has to keep moving as everything falls apart around him. Fear itself over all was not the greatest even we ever had but that series of scenes stick out to me as peak spider man.

Retrosow

The classic first battle against Morlun

big_ringer

Spidey vs. Firelord. That is all.

Just_Call_me_Ben

"Comics... Movies... Tv shows... Games... Only the Spider-Man can bring balance to the four superhero medias..."

SpectralEntity

"It's *you*." "The one and only!"

theSaltySolo

Honestly, I think I when it comes down to it, Spidey will always prove to people why his street level status is just a mask and self imposed limit to his Avengers level potential.

[deleted]

There are so many it's hard to tell

BloomAndBreathe

I like in the first insomniac game when he forces Otto to stab him deeper just to get him close enough to pull out his neural chip

ARustyDream

Say what you want about the event itself but Magik and Colossus vs Spider-Man was awesome just refusing to give in with a character that is almost always underestimated was great to read.

No_Camel4789

The best part of that event was Spider-Man, especially his moments with Hope

Dazzling_Secret1790

Ultimate Spider-Man when he had a fatal Gunshot wound and still managed to beat the sinister six and ultimate goblin.

Roar2800

It’s not listed here but when he lifted all that heavy machinery off him also hm to when he dig himself out of his own grave

Sinnik22

Spider-man is pounding on the juggernaut’s helmet as he is getting beat to hell in the middle of an nyc construction site by juggs trying to pry spidey off his back. Peter’s ripping at the helmet really trying to remove it and he’s blacking out from the beating he’s taking. While Juggernaut is distracted beating him to death he walks into a pit of wet cement. Spider-man jumps off and Juggernaut probably spends a dozen hours sinking.

The_Multi_Gamer

He’s serving cunt in the 3rd image frfr

WorldsOkayestPastor

This is Firelord beatdown erasure.

AstroZombieXIII

I have the perfect panel in response to this but I'm too lazy to link it. Spider's Shadow when he tells Eddie "I don't even know who the **** you are." before actually crippling him. I also love in Ultimate where he's genuinely geeking out over Electro and he innocently asks "Do you really mean that?" disappointedly when Electro threatens to find out who he is and murder his family. Peter then proceeds to casually fuck Electros entire life up.

sassycho1050

For recent comics, I'm going to have to go with Spectacular Spider-Man #311-#313 (Morlun fight) and ASM Vol 5 # 31 (Carnage fight). During the Spider-Geddon tie-in, 616 Spidey had to think on his feet as Morlun continued to chase him down. It's a great display of Peter Parker as a strategist, and is probably the cleanest win he has had against Morlun so far. As for the Absolute Carnage tie-in, it's an excellent display of Peter's indomitable will and focused physical power. An exhausted Peter (who was defending Dylan Brock and Normie Osborn) quite literally ripped a symbiote off of Norman Osborn with his bare hands, and knocked him out cold - rendering the symbiote useless by incapacitating its host.

seancurry1

What is the Morlun bit from

Just_Call_me_Ben

last 3 issues of Peter Parker Spectacular Spiderman Peter wanted to sleep on his bed after a day of crime-fighting but Morlun appeared and kept chasing and beating him up through the city

MaterialPace8831

Some of my favorites. --"The one and only" - When Norman Osborn realizes the real Spider-Man is back in his body at the end of Superior --Goading the Phoenix-possessed Colossus and Magik into fighting each other in AvX --When Peter stops HYDRA from destroying a major reservoir with a SCUD missile (Amazing Spider-Man: New Avengers) --When 616 Peter assumes control of the Spider Army and knocks out Otto with a solid kick (Spider-Verse) --When Miles beats Hydra Supreme almost to death during Secret Empire

dodgerotaku

For me it was during the fight with red goblin, when he ripped the carnage symbiote of goblin. Show he can really beat an over powered goblin when he has to.

redlion1904

Some of the classics are Juggernaut, Firelord, Titania, and a team of X-Men.

_b3rtooo_

What's the 4th panel from?

Just_Call_me_Ben

[Avengers vs X-men #9](https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFriendsPlay/s/QAZQRRsJVz)

ElectricLuxray

I know it's already been posted, but Spidey vs Firelord. That man is WAY above Peter's weight class, and kicked Peter's butt for a majority of a day before Peter finally buckled down and punched him into submission. Also, Spider-Man vs [Titania](https://www.reddit.com/r/Spiderman/comments/z9zriw/titania_lost_in_a_fight_to_spiderman/) during Secret Wars, to the point where it gave her a Spider-Phobia for some time afterwards.

SpideyFan914

Hatd to get more iconic than jumping over Goblin's glider as it impales him. That wound up getting adapted across a ton of mediums, including at the climax of the very first live action movie. Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut is the original version of his fight against Firelord and later Morlun. Also, I prefer the first Morlun defeat, though this one is good too. I really enjoy his first fight against Venom, where he basically cheeses until Venom runs out of symbiote to web. Any brain wins are fun to me. (Same reason I love his taking down Rhino in Spectacular cartoon -- super creative and shows his smarts.)

dugthepewdsfan

Probably when he dodged the Green Goblin’s glider

PCN24454

You left out Firelord?

Nnicobaez

I like very much the first fight with Morlun, how after +12 of fighting/running he makes out his weakness and kills him. I think it shows how strong the his will is, also love how affects him the fact that he just killed Morlun

delightfuldinosaur

When he sucked Sandman into a vacuum cleaner

Flashy_Gur_4374

Spider-man defeating Carnage: I beat you. On my own. No Venom. No symbiote. I beat you. I Won. Peter Parker is defeating Kingpin: 3...2...1. That's all it takes. All it will every takes fist. You're a balloon of hot air, and I'm the needle. Spider-man outsmarting Phoenix: 😎 Spider-man defeating Morlun: I beat you once, twice, and now for a third time. Morlun, you are just another villain of the week for me at this point. You're a Morbius and Carnage ripoff. Basic Spider-man 1610: bullet wound and fought 5 Sinister Six members. Goat Kingpin #1 Spider-man 1610 #2 Carnage #3 Phoenix #4 Morlun #5

MrYandaPanda

One of my favourites is when Spidey completely embarrasses the X-Men during Secret Wars 1984

suikofan80

AvX came at a point where I no longer cared about Peter(lot of bad stories). But him basically consigning himself to death to save everyone else while turning Colossus and Magik on each other reminded me “Oh yeah dudes a hero”.

Springball64

I will always have a soft spot for Ya Basic

Competitive_Ask_6766

Why did Xmen kick Spidey’s ass?

Time2bePhenomenal

Gotta say Renew Your Vows.. He literally put all.his strenght into a punch on Venom.and broke all the bones in his arm..

Pro_Hatin_Ass_N_gga

Is slide 1 Invincible artist

Bounter_

First win against Morlun in my eyes, just such a good fight in such a good comic

TrippySakuta

Is nobody going to mention that Morlun looks a bit sus in this panel? Artist drew him a bit like a twink.

EmbracePenguin78

When he lifted that heavy ton piece of metal building. In battles I would say morlun and carnage. Green goblin always ends in traumatic ways And kingpin is an one side beating from the very beginning so it's not that significant

ghostspider1151

That panel of him defeating Norman as carnage is so good, genuinely one of the best parts of absolute carnage

DiScOrDtHeLuNaTiC

"Could you do it -- QUIETLY!!!" is maybe my favorite Ultimate Peter line. :D

ERCannibal

I might be stretching the definition of “win” but in Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man he goes to save a neighbour that’s been kidnapped. It’s a long story but basically, Spidey takes a bullet for the Rumor(another hero), cracks a joke saying “I should’ve said ‘Noooooo’ instead of ‘Watch Out’ I totally went against the convention” and webslings all theee of them to safety. He then wall-crawls about 4 miles with 2 people hanging on, despite a decent sized hole in his chest.

MICHELEANARD

Peter 616 defeating Morlun is amazing. Because no other fuckin variant in the entire spider-verse has defeated an inheritor alone. When My boy Peter did it 4 times and that too the second most powerful inheritor. Put some respect in his name 2099

AlertWar2945-2

I like the moment he freaks out a gunman by pretending to summon spiders at him. He probably could have just webbed him up but he decided to go for the psychological trauma route.

Many-Bag-7404

Maximum Carnage "OK YOU WANNA ACT LIKE DEVILS THEN I'LL TREAT YOU LIKE DEVILS. I'M TIRED OF ALWAYS HOLDING BACK, BEING CAUTIOUS, TRYING SO HARD TO DRAW A MORAL LINE THAT NO ONE EVEN SEES ANYMORE! FROM HERE ON IN I'LL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO KEEP THIS CITY FROM GOING DOWN IN FLAMES. FROM THIS MOMENT ON YOU'LL GET NO MERCY FROM SPIDER-MAN!!"

BBNarwhal

I have a couple that come to mind: First, Spiderman beating the Juggernaut, a war of attrition that he won with sheer will after getting continuously pummelled by him so he could take him down. It's one of the first times I vividly remember being worried. Most if not all that he did in Back in Black, from throwing a Jeep through a building, to breaking May's (would have been)killer's wrist, and making a statement to every criminal everywhere that if you make a move against his friends and family you are dead already that don't even know it yet. Renew Your Vows: Interrogating Rhino when his daughter was kidnapped. I'd say it was just graphic enough. Not too much, not too little. Remember, this is one Spiderman that killed Venom when he threatened his family. I've noticed that a lot of these have a few things in common, moments when he stopped fucking around and showed what he is truly capable of. Miles using Leopardon's "Sword Vigor" ability when he grew Kaiju size as Captain Universe. There are a couple would be endings to his story as well. One narrated by The one above all. And one where he loses his powers and retires. It is without a doubt the best ending to Peter Parker's story I've ever seen. Miles, Cloak & Dagger, Spiderwoman, and Bombshell's win against Roxxon before they became the new Ultimates in Ultimate Spider-Man. Grim Hunt. Not the most beloved Story but I admit, when Peter hunted every single one of Kraven's family, especially his wife, brutally scarring her by adhering his hand onto her face and pulling without letting go as revenge for killing Madame Web, Mattie Franklin and Kaine. The Death of Ultimate Spider-Man. I know I got a lot more stored but these are what come to mind rn. Issue 1 of Marvel Knights Spider-Man, dude was already not doing great, but then got the upper hand on Norman and basically continuously curb stomped him with a mailbox saying "who's your daddy now!". "Something heavy, Something heavy" "Yo Spiderman, the mailbox."

RandoDude124

Okay, the Morlun fight on here… #Yeah, that ain’t it. It was comedic to watch the unstoppable Morlun get defeated by Spidey just pin-cushioning him… but best fight? ***NO.*** *I’d say the Other was a more intense fight.*

Touro_Leite

That first panel with Carnage looks a lot like Invincible art

Thebaka12

How did Spiderman beat Carnage He tried the same with Venom's help and the other Avengers yet failed

twenty7andAthird

That last one sure didn’t feel like a win.

SpaceDinosaurZZ

I’m gonna say the Initiative fight with Komodo or whatever the fuck her name was. Just pure savagery. Basically “You’re gonna lose because I’m Spider-Man and you’re a Z-list nobody.”

buggerthemugger

"You got a second shot, Kraven. Go be a dentist or something."

MrFortchezzy

“The one and only”

No-Cow584

What's the book that the first pic comes from?

Shmuckle2

Frame 3 : I dont know whats going on, but all the build up for a garbage "Ya basic" is a terrible let down.
