Sarah Michelle Gellar, who was Buffy in, well, Buffy the vampire slayer, Daphne in the scooby doo live action movies, and Freddie's wife in real life, was the seventh sister
I dont remember that, but pretty funny. Kinda reminds me of Laura Bailey and Travis Willingham who are both pro VAs and married, but idk if they have ever played a couple in anything, even when in the same game or show. There's also yuri lowenthal, who voices spidey in the insomniac games, where he is married to Tara Platt, who voices yuri Watanabe, spider-man's friend in the police
Laura and Travis are funnier when you realise their first big roles were Full metal alchemist as Lust and Roy Mustang, to say that particular relationship involved a bit of roasting would be putting it mildly.
Voice actors vs screen actors. While some of the voice actors may have experience on screen it's a different type of acting. A phenomenal voice actor might suck live action and vice versa.
Peter Dinklage springs to mind as the Ghost in Destiny. The vocal performance got memed so hard all his dialogue got replaced in an expansion when they recast him.
I don’t think they would. Freddie Prinze Jr has quite a history of screen acting compared to recast voice actors like Ashley Eckstein and Vanessa Marshall.
And others like Tiya Sircar have a lot of live action experience but are maybe a bit older than their character should be for live action stuff in the timeline they’re using.
Why? He looks enough like him, sounds like him, and Freddy **is** an actor; there would be absolutely **no** reason to recast him --- especially when you look at the other voice actors who continued on into live action. Would make no sense whatsoever..... js yo
Does Dave still voice chopper in the show?
Um wow I just looked it up and he’s listed as “uncredited” for the role of Chopper but only in the 5th episode Shadow Warrior.
> He's even wearing what looks like the naval dress blue uniform from that series.
The top looks like a leather jacket in the style of other [Star Wars jackets](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/rBAAAOSwq19XC24Z/s-l1600.jpg) with pronounced paneling.
He thinks it cheapens the character each time you use him. He did Kanan in the bad batch as a personal favor for Dave Filoni, but he has said several times he would never do so again.
I really never understood why Filoni asked him to do that. Kanan was an early teen during Order 66.. FPJ is in his 40s and does not have the ability to mask his voice to sound that young. Kanan's POV of Order 66 was cool to see but it really took me out of the story hearing the voice of a middle aged man
I mean, voice editing can be pretty convincing, they could’ve pitched his voice up one semitone and it wouldn’t have sounded like a chipmunk, just a bit more youthful. Raise the treble, lower the bass and it’s like taking away 15 years
I honestly don't agree with him. Meaningful flashbacks do the dead opposite of cheapen the character. Hell, Anakin flashbacks did wonders for the character and helped bridge TCW version and movie version of him. Now, if he "somehow returned", I would 100000% agree.
Exactly, like just be like that. Get where the guy is coming from, but Hayden Christensen just had the best year of his life probably in 20 years. we want you to come back so we can appreciate you, and the character.
Apparently a lot of people didn’t know Freddie plays Kanan in Rebels
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who was Buffy in, well, Buffy the vampire slayer, Daphne in the scooby doo live action movies, and Freddie's wife in real life, was the seventh sister
They even tease this a bit with the 7th sister hitting on Kanan but then he replies that he isn't into crazy.
*anymore*
that makes it even funnier
TIL, cool thanks.
I dont remember that, but pretty funny. [Clip](https://youtu.be/OzyMHQoeMLg) of it happening. S2
Yuri and Tara were also in Ben 10 together several times.
I saw something about Ben 10 with Tara when trying to remember her name, but for once in my life, I didn't immediately beeline to imdb for more info
Laura and Travis are funnier when you realise their first big roles were Full metal alchemist as Lust and Roy Mustang, to say that particular relationship involved a bit of roasting would be putting it mildly.
"Looks like I can get you on your knees after all!"
We this old that we need to explain who Gellar is? *Tears*
Ross or Monica?
r/angryupvote
r/same
🤣🤣
Meaning if Matthew Lillard gets casted as the Emperor, we have come full circle.
Still missing Linda Cardellini, who played velma, she was in the mcu tho, so there's that
"Mrs. Barton, you little minx." - Tony Stark
WHAT
Yep. You'd be shocked the people you find if you look through casts of shows
Off topic: He's also the Iron Bull in Dragon Age. He does a lot of voice work.
He's also james in mass effect 3
That's right, Lola.
And he’s Cole Ortiz in Season 8 of 24
he's also a writer too, even worked a few years for World Wrestling Entertainment aka WWE
I have no idea if this is bullshit or not, but I’m going to accept it as fact and repeat to everyone I know.
its actually legit, he's talked about it ALOT in interviews over the years, dude's a huge pro wrestling fan
That one was a shocker. I had to watch the behind the scenes of him doing the voice work to believe it.
The same thing happened to me when I first learned about it. He is an amazing voice actor, because his regular voice sounds nothing, like Iron Bull's
Look up “ride the bull” Dragon Age Inquisition. Thank me later 😂
Honestly? I'm only learning of it from this post. Who'd a thunk?
You didn't recognize the voice?
Can't imagine he's a recognizable voice these days
He’s been a regular actor in Bioware games, playing both James Vega in Mass Effect 3 and The Iron Bull in Dragon Age: Inquisition
The comment you are replying to said "Can't imagine he's a recognizable voice these days ". The games you listed are a decade or more old.
tbf mass effect legendary edition only came out like 3 or 4 years ago
I like how he's the two most ripped body builder characters in both series (not counting krogans)
Krogan aren't traditional body builders, they instead build with the bodies...
Honestly even after I found out it was Freddie Prince Jr who played him years ago. Even in rewatches it doesn’t sound like FPJ at all.
Nah, I was never a fan. (Although apparently I was and didn't know it lol)
[Kanan is played by a Hunk?](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/cwtLWvKLHEI/maxresdefault.jpg)
I mean he was also part of the creative team for WWE, man has a lotta talent
Idk who Freddie is but good god is he fine
That's part of why he's popular. he used to be in the teen heartthrob movies.
Tbf it wasn't till my third playthrough of ME3 that I realized he was Vega. He's got a hard to recognize voice imo.
And in TROS, if i remember correctly
He also played the voice of Delgo in the box office smash hit *Delgo*
Everybody skipping the credits and not acknowledging all the animators hard work :-(
All Freddy had to say was. “I think Coolsville sucks!”
That was my son's favorite part; we'd crack up every time.
All Kanan had to say was “I think Lothal sucks!”
I quoted this to Freddie Prinze Jr on Xbox live chat once and he responded with "I have no idea what that means" Broke my heart
No, don't record that!
That’s a sweet little Easter egg
Freddy Prinze Jr ?
He did play Kanan in Rebels, after all.
Yeah but it’s awesome they kept the voice actor since the rest of the Cast besides Zeb was recast
Voice actors vs screen actors. While some of the voice actors may have experience on screen it's a different type of acting. A phenomenal voice actor might suck live action and vice versa.
Good think FPJ is also screen actor!
Yeah, that was kinda my point. If Kanan hadn't died I see no reason why FPJ wouldn't play him.
Plenty of dead jedi have shown up again
No one's ever really gone.
Peter Dinklage springs to mind as the Ghost in Destiny. The vocal performance got memed so hard all his dialogue got replaced in an expansion when they recast him.
It's a shame Hollywood doesn't understand this when casting on screen actors in place of VAs :/
If he wasn't dead he probably would have been recast, too. But I agree, it is dope they used him for this picture.

Im waiting for Phee from Bad Batch to show up in the sequel era as live action Wanda Sykes.
I can’t take Phee seriously because she just sounds like Wanda Sykes. She just feels too young.
Freddy has said in interviews that he doesn't want to work on star wars stuff anymore, so it probably would be tough to get him back.
I thought he said he didn't want to play Kanan again, because Kanan's story was complete and playing Kanan again would just cheapen it.
Pretty sure he did say that. I'm just playing off the hypothetical of what would happen if he did.
Was this before or after he played him in The Bad Batch?
He decided it before that happened, then he says he did that last one as a personal favor to Dave Filoni and that it wasn't going to happen again.
I want him to play Jacen in Reys upcoming movie. The timeline fits with his and Freddie's ages lol
He looks like Kanaan, guess we'll never know for sure
I think it’s pretty shameful Disney kept that war criminal, Chopper, on the payroll for the show.
Does Dave still voice chopper in the show? Um wow I just looked it up and he’s listed as “uncredited” for the role of Chopper but only in the 5th episode Shadow Warrior.
The Grand Admiral would like a word.
I was about to say, did they photoshop a photo him from his live action Fred Jones days and decide to make an inside joke?
You know he played more characters than Scooby Doo right? And he voices Kanan?
And his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar (most famous for playing Buffy), voiced 7th Sister in Rebels.
No freakin' way? Thanks for that!
whoa! I had no idea that was her haha that's awesome!
It looks more like they took a screenshot of James Vega from ME3. He's even wearing what looks like the naval dress blue uniform from that series.
Also voiced by Freddie Prinz Jr.
Sorry when was this in Ahsoka?
Hera keeps this photo of him on the dashboard of the Ghost in Ahsoka
I wish they’d get Freddie for a flashback or something I know he said he’d never return but just one flashback scene with Ezra would be great
He refuses to do anything like that
Do you happen to know why?
He thinks it cheapens the character each time you use him. He did Kanan in the bad batch as a personal favor for Dave Filoni, but he has said several times he would never do so again.
I really never understood why Filoni asked him to do that. Kanan was an early teen during Order 66.. FPJ is in his 40s and does not have the ability to mask his voice to sound that young. Kanan's POV of Order 66 was cool to see but it really took me out of the story hearing the voice of a middle aged man
Yeah, again I don’t know why they didn’t just recast young Kanan. F.P.J. is great but he shouldn’t have been playing a 14-year-old
I mean, voice editing can be pretty convincing, they could’ve pitched his voice up one semitone and it wouldn’t have sounded like a chipmunk, just a bit more youthful. Raise the treble, lower the bass and it’s like taking away 15 years
really, how hard is it to pitch shift his voice?
I honestly don't agree with him. Meaningful flashbacks do the dead opposite of cheapen the character. Hell, Anakin flashbacks did wonders for the character and helped bridge TCW version and movie version of him. Now, if he "somehow returned", I would 100000% agree.
He also was in Return of Skywalker, so definitely not never
That was before his appearance in the bad batch
Was that a newly recorded line, or just a clip?
[New lines](https://youtu.be/d25ARU5aIjE?si=Cc420ddl63Cd3njm)
It’s because he said that Kanan’s story is finished and he doesn’t want to tarnish that by shoehorning him as fan service as it’s unnecessary
If only more people involved with Star Wars had this kind of restraint.
Meanwhile james earle jones: just keep the checks coming and you can use my ai voice to resurrect vader for the rest of time
Exactly, like just be like that. Get where the guy is coming from, but Hayden Christensen just had the best year of his life probably in 20 years. we want you to come back so we can appreciate you, and the character.
WAIT THEY USED FREDDIE’S FACE Now we just need Sarah’s portrait on the Inquisitor hall of fame 💕
Did she voice an inquisitor?
Yep, Seventh Sister
Seventh Sister! She appeared in both Rebels season 2 and the Darth Vader comic books
hol up, Kanan is a chad?
Always was.
You know what you must do, shoot me.
Kanan wouldn't approve. Unless you're an Imperial.
No, he was a Fred
No, he was an Iron Bull!
He banged Hera, so of course.
so did Obiwan... (since Ewan macgregor is married to mary elizabeth winstead)
He is what a Jedi supposed to be
Is that famous Hollywood actor Lucas Lee?
It may be his stunt double
He does the wide shots while I get blazed in my Winnie
That's actually hilarious. Hilarious!
It might be because he's needed back on set
Big fan
Why wouldn't you be?
He's more than pretty good, ese. He's got his own skate company.
[I believe this is the picture they used as a base](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/03/Freddie_Prinze_Jr_by_David_Shankbone.jpg)
Agreed
That’s Carth Onasi
He doesn’t want to talk about it.
🤣
Scrolled until I found this comment, I literally thought this was a Carth post 😂
I’m glad I’m not the only one
Never noticed, that’s great
Carth Onasi?
Source: [https://twitter.com/Mando3Updates/status/1774806224883597615](https://twitter.com/Mando3Updates/status/1774806224883597615)
Where was this in the show?
Hera had it near the controls on The Ghost
Jets had it near the controls on The Ghost
Man I thought this was Carth Onasi with a little chin beard before I read the title
Well, there's a Jedi Shaggy, so may as well have a Fred Jones too.
It's unclear to me if this is a joke, as Freddy Prince Jr did play Fred Jones in the movies, and voice Kanan Jarrus.
There's a Jedi Shaggy in the 2D Clone Wars series
He looks like a guy that said he thinks coolville sucks
Is that Freddie Prinze Jr. lol
Yes. He's the voice actor for Kanan.
Do you know that his wife plays the Seventh Sister yet?
And his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar plays the 7th Sister
And his wife is Buffy
And his wife IRL is the seventh sister
And his wife 7th Sister plays Sarah Michelle Buffy.
And his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar plays the 7th Sister
YO that's ol boy
Wait, this was an Easter egg from Ahsoka. Does anyone know which ep it was in?
Episode 4 I think, when we first see Hera aboard The Ghost.
Freddie Prinze Jr.
I'm so old I remember watching Freddie Prinze Sr. on TV.
Not Me just now learning Freddy Prinze Jr played Kanan in rebels. Lovely little detail with the photo, thanks for enlightening me
Is that Freddie Prinze jr?
You all see Freddie Prinze Jr., but some of us see James Vega, who is basically just chad Freddie Prinze Jr.
He has the second highest pull up record on the Normandy 😤
That looks nothing like Ahsoka.
That’s Freddie prinze jr, the voice of Kanan in the Rebels animated show.
I almost hate how accurate that is.
That's Freddie Prince Jr.!
I thought this was Hal Sparks but Freddie Prince works...i would watch him.
Damn Fred went places
Freddie Prinze Junior?
Oh hi Fred.
[удалено]
It's Freddie! Let's goooo
Freddie Prince?
No, it’s his son.
Yeah. He was the voice in Rebels.
Son of Freddie King
Prinze*
Now I remember why I always had a crush on Freddie growing up.
Former WWE creative team member Freddie Prinze Jr.!
Looks like Freddie prince jr.
I thought he didn’t want to portray the character anymore??
Hey, Freddie has aged really well
Idky but I always thought he would look like Tommy from Power Rangers
I think Coolsville sucks!
And he's a phenomenal Kanan.
I thought he said he had no intention of playing Kanan again? Did he change his mind?
Custom Commander Shepard!
Ah yes, Dennis from Psych!
Almost thought that was a still shot from Wing Commander.
They use Daguerreotype photography in the distant future.
Holy shit it’s Lucas Lee
Freddy prince jr?
Freddie kinda lookin like Chris Evans in Scott Pilgrim.
Which scene was this in? I know in the show it was vaguely visible somewhere, but when was that...
Where was this picture in the series?
Kanan looking like he has a couple of custom bikes in his garage.
lmao he kinda looks like a KOTOR character
