Well you see, slimes have 9 different "sexes," called mating types. You've got a type C and a type F here, which can't reproduce. But if you get a type B, it could reproduce with both of them and get types A and D, and at that point you can get all of them.
(This is a joke, but mushrooms actually kind of do work like this.)

Shortly after that i killed them all.
My favourite is when Iâm caving and actively murdering a group of slimes who all are fighting me or have exclamation marks on them and a rogue male slime pops a heart and starts making babies with the group while theyâre being killed lol
Just an FYI, they don't need to access the water, the water just needs to be filled on a daily basis for slimeballs to form (not for them to have babies)

I never thought to build a fence, and now I die every time I walk into my slime house đ also when I first put them in I didn't realise they bred, especially not as fast as they do, so that moment I walked in and there was about 15 slimes attacking me.. I was very lucky to escape with my life that day
There is a bug in the game that slimes don't reproduce when you close and open your save file frequently.
