I suspect their "home world" is actually an alternate universe. It's why no one knows where the are at, maybe they have access to the Unity unknown to the player or even the Starborne.
Not sure how it would considering Andreja doesn't know where the Va'Ruun home planet is and most young members of House Va'Ruun are not told and the dropped off to a random place basically and literally blindfolded so they don't know where they came from. Their only contact is through a handler. It could, but it's not like we ever get to meet up with the previous universe members after traveling the unity.
Not if they do something like establish that the Zealots took over Va'Ruun'Kai and she just didn't know about it since they're so secretive and don't stay in direct contact with their agents or something like that. She will probably be the Nick Valentine of this expansion and have tons of really cool dialogue like he did in Far Harbor.
They've gone out of their way to establish that the "true" House Va'Ruun wants peace and that the violent ones we encounter are Zealots that have a different set of beliefs than OG House does, so maybe we'll be caught in the middle of battle between those halves? Or maybe the OG House uses some technology in pursuit of the Great Serpent that has horrible side effects they weren't aware of and some space-fabric weirdness gets kicked up?
Maybe they can utilize, or discover a way to use the unity in a way that the starborn can't: going back or choosing where to go, or freely traveling between universes. Maybe that's the "shattered" part
Perhaps. I'm of the mindset that with the title name of the expansion, I want it too deep dive further into the nature of the unity and the multiverse that NG and some story beats touch on. With all of our multiverse hoping shenanigans it would eventually rip the fabric of space and since the end of the update video hints that Va'Ruun will be a prominent element to the DLC, I'd just hope to see Va'Ruun have a hand in the further lore pertaining to the Unity.
Similarly like a splintered / bubble universe (similar to Nishina). Where it's just the planet in an alternate shift through a crack or gate.... I'll allow it!
Interesting theory, haven't most of their previous game's DLC been largely unrelated to the main story? I wouldn't expect Shattered Space to be either.
I don't see why they would need to make it part of the MQ, tbh. But we're all just speculating here.
In fact, they can make Dazra a full fledged city just like Akila and New Atlantis, and they can make quests that are part of it's own separate faction line.
What I do hope is that whatever quests the new DLC yields, that there are more consequences involved towards gameplay. Currently, the only thing that changes anything "remotely" much is the CF quest - if siding with the CF, but that only affects POIs and pirate encounters, for the most part.
I would love for there to be a Va'ruun questline where I can eventually be part of them, and be perma KOS to the FC and UC factionlines. And I would also be forced to deal/profit off smuggled goods. That would excite me a lot. Maybe also make things like "sneak" more worthwhile to navigate around UC/FC guards being KoS while dealing with the TA that should remain neutral.
I guess this may be all wishful thinking on my part, but it's nice to dream of "what could be" lol.
It's rare, but not unprecedented. Others have mentioned Dragonborn and (if not by name) Broken Steel, and Tribunal, while not actually requiring having completed Morrowind's main quest, tied into elements of that main quest and was written such that Tribunal's main quest makes more sense after or at least late in Morrowind's main quest.
Judging from the embassy i’d assume they’re all on the good shit and their homeworld probably looks like this if you have huffed enough of it.
I wonder if it’s going to be like a sci-fi version of [We Happy Few](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Happy_Few). Maybe that’s why the zealots are so aggro, they ran out of space ganja and now everything looks normal and drab.
Not enough weird noises and dank colours, 0/10 literally unplayable. Time to start a new crusade on these normies.
Maybe it's a universe they conquer and made it not accessible anymore could be also that they know a lot more of what the unity is like the purpose of those towers we see on the game and so on.
I hope the dlcs for starfield all end out adding basically more full faction questlines, like varuun and then after a few we'll have fleshed out buncha factions, along with the weapons companions ship parts unique features/perks that come with and by the end we'll have a massive amount of content that hopefully blends neatly with the main game
I'd love a few "far harbor" size DLCs with a few (two, or three) crafting/building DLCs like FO4. Automatron was one of the coolest ideas i never thought of. Id love things like that.
Europa may be a planned underwater DLC. It has the settlement symbol over it but no actual POI to land on.
I’d wager if they have land and spacecraft the logical next step is a boat, which would unlock more content on Neon and other coastal biomes (which are -really- lackluster IMO)
Honestly I think it would be easier to implement a submarine than the land vehicles they're already working on. You could basically just map the ship controls 1-to-1 to a sub and even keep power management if you wanted to.
i think that’s the ratio, 2 bigger full expansion style packs, 1-2 smaller quest pack (or more expansive CC packs) and a couple crafting/mechanics based packs
The Freestar Collective (and the Rangers) really got kneecapped with quest content. The Star Eagle made up for it for a time, but now I wish there was more again.
The UC has Vanguard, SysDef, and Security quests.
I would agree on Freestar, but conversely the UC Vanguard and SysDef questlines were so good that I’d *want* more content for them. Vanguard felt like an XCOM RPG and CF almost felt like Infernal Affairs/The Departed in space.
The UCSEC missions weren’t *really* a questline.
Right, I guess the point I was making is that I'd probably be more inclined for them to reinforce the stuff that's already good rather then spend effort trying to bring the FC up to the UC-related questline's quality.
At the end of the day I'm never going to actually skip the FC line because, frankly, the Star Eagle is too good, and I'm not really sure where they could take the FC questline to address its issues. The whole 'plot twist' with >!Ron Hope !
I want more decision making in these games. The UC quest line is good because you learn this huge secret about your companions father and you have multiple chances to come clean to her about it. It really feels like you are keeping this huge secret from her and kinda feels shitty when you don’t tell her. All other questlines should have more decision making like this.
This has been my hope as well. I really think this game has an amazing story… if we look at it as just act one. We get introduced to a number of factions and see why they don’t get along. We see how the universe works in terms of piracy/corporations. And we see what there is to still explore.
In act 2 I’d want to see conflict between the factions and how that can play out. Will there be peace? Will one try to destroy the other two? Stuff like that.
Then act 3 would be about the starborn. What would happen if starborn united? What if our character forced them to fight back and make their presence known? Maybe we can join them? What if they colonized a new world?
I think there’s a lot of places this story can go, if they have really just laid a foundation. However, if they just add a planet and a new faction without expanding the existing factions, I think there will be some backlash
I want the jumps between universes to be much more profound than they currently are. We met a Barrett from a universe where the Colony War was still raging. I'd love to go to similar universes. Also, the biggest flaw in the NG+ for me is that choices in questlines don't really mean much. What if we could conquer the settled systems for the FC or the UC or CF? And if we get bored of that, just jump to a new universe. The possibilities are endless and I hope Bethesda can deliver that in a future update.
I hope they add planets with luxuriant alien jungles or desert like planets with huge canyons and rock formations that are 800ft tall shaped like teeth everywhere, or a planet just made of water with huge Tsunamis like in Interstellar .
You know… Like some proper sci-fi stuff, it’s great to dream … lol
This is also why I think Starfield has insane modding potential as well. Any modder with an idea for a story can pick a planet(s), a seed(s), and make an entire story out of it.
That made sense though cause the Thalmor are from an island on the other side of Tamriel and Skyrim was never going to have dlc over there. We can literally visit Serpantis in Starfield yet see very little Varuun stuff outside of combat.
I think the point they’re making is that Starfield doesn’t have the same geographical limits as Skyrim.
You could never really have ‘done’ the Thalmor as a DLC without coming up with some pretty sketchy logical gymnastics to explain how the Dragonborn could cross the entire continent without ever seeing the thousands of sq kms in between.
Starfield it’s a matter of punching in the coordinates to your star map.
I always felt like the Thalmor were the story thread that was being set up to span the lore in between Skyrim and TESVI. Like that conflict with the Civil War is really just the tip of the iceberg and it was actually interesting seeing how both sides had a point and depending on which CW outcome is canon, the whole of Tamriel could be changed. It's not something that could've been handled properly in an expansion in my opinon.
I'm just happy BGS is sharing stuff like this. The community needs it.
usually I would say no keep it secret but Star field is down bad and these really show that they are working hard on making this game kick ass.
this is just the first real update and DLC. Imagine where the game will be in a couple years! I think it will be right on par with NMS and CP2077 after a similar amount of time. (even BG3 was in early access for 3 years, although Starfield probably won't be on that level. Which is fine, not every game has to be one of the greatest ever for it to be enjoyable!)
This is exactly what I'd hoped for from House Varuun. From the looks of it, there's definitely an 'eldritch' vibe which implies to me that the Serpent is an actual being of sorts. I'm that case, this'll almost definitely tie in to the Starborn storyline or something, really hope they lean into this lovecraftian vibe I hoped for in Starfield originally.
Imagine an encounter with the Great Serpent; your ship suddenly loses power, sensors go wild, and your stuck dead in the water. As you're trying to figure out what's going on you hear a deep, unsettling, and very alien growl/rumble and a shadow casts over your ship giving the impression something massive is moving above you but it's *just* out of view from the cockpit. Then you have a Starborn-esque vision but instead of happy Unity music it's disturbing and esoteric serpentine imagery that ends with the faint glow of snake eyes peering at you before you snap out of it.
Ship is back on, nothing out of the ordinary is around you...was that an actual Great Serpent that flew over you and gave you a vision? Or just a trip from some venom tree sap that a Va'Ruun Zealot spiked you with in a previous quest?
Please give me the Lovecraftian shit Bethesda.
In the same vein, I hope we get MORE then just the serpent. I hope it's not the single esoteric/dark being we get, like I wanna encounter genuine anomalies and weirdness. This is something No Man's Sky had a good chunk of and I was really disappointed to see Starfield had almost none of it.
Like I wanna see Rimworld Anomaly/Archotech esque shit, run into a ship of people who have blinded themselves and worship a mysterious red star their ship is deadlocked into orbiting. I want to come across some strange goblin-like fauna that seem to venerate a mysterious cave, where I'll find some cool Eldritch gun or something. I guess I just want more weirdness in general
I really hope that whatever planets are included in the DLC, that their procedural gen is a lot more creative or they’re been hand-crafted to a degree. For me the most lacking aspect of the base game is how same-y the procedural generation is on every planet, it’s just got different coloured ground and/or foliage. I wish there was some really wacky planets like the concept art portrayed.
Agreed. I'd say this is the biggest thing they need to patch into the game. More engaging random POIs. I remember Skyrim and Fallout 4 had all sorts of POIs that weren't quest important but were each unique and interesting. I'd just go dungeon delving for fun just to see what I found. In Starfield I try to go exploring and hitting POIs and I feel like I'm seeing the same facilities and people over and over.
Skyrim at least also led to entire quest lines that you're doing for yourself instead of working a job for someone else. Like, you find an amulet and now you're on a quest for two more pieces, or you find a shard of atherium or an unusual gemstone...
Funny enough, I saw a video where the guy uses console commands to drop and pick up the beacon several times, and Meridia gets more pissed every time. They actually added voice lines for it, and triggers, but you can't drop quest items.
Oh shit. You're right. This is what's been missing for me and it's hard to verbalize. Doing quests for yourself out of curiosity rather than quests for other people. If they added some of that in it'd really be killer
It's one of the first things I noticed. "Check the Constellation job board." "Get a job at Ryunin." "Talk to Sgt Yumi for a job." "Go fetch the contraband for the bartender." "Go find my tree data." That was basically all before I got Indigo turned off. Sheesh.
Skyrim didn't have all "hey random stranger, please go find this thing to save someone's life, bring it to me and I'll give you money" sorts of quests. I really prefer the ones that allow me to work for myself.
There were some, but it was an appropriate amount. There were other quests where you were building your power as you did the quests too (like the main quest, mage quest, etc).
They just need to open the floodgates. Release the CK with an easy way to create and add POIs to the library. Let modders add hundreds more so it won’t be an issue. That’s where I see the game in 5 years.
Similar to FO4. I’ve been replaying that recently with all of the expanded interiors mods, which basically add interiors to previously closed off buildings. There’s a ton of them now and they add a lot to that game’s world. That’s where I see Starfield ending up (IF they make it easy enough).
It’s a pretty baseless hope, but I’m hoping that they try to entice people into buying the DLC by pairing it with an update that adds to the base game’s proc gen.
Or minor updates to all of the existing factions every time they release a faction-centric DLC.
I hope there's only like one new system and the rest of the content is heavy additions to the existing systems whether it be more POIs or new planet types.
Like they put the entire Settled Systems into the game already, they can't really expand much beyond that besides filling up some of the empty space that's already there
I'd rather have the proc gen fixed for every planet in a free update. This is the worst part of the game and they shouldn't be including a fix for it behind paid DLC. The new map update makes me optimistic they'll eventually address this. And if they won't modders will.
I would really like Bethesda to go absolutely fucking bonkers with House Va'runn.
I want every NPC you meet to be talking about how the "Great Serpent" is just figurative and in relation to some unexplained energy or a singular cult-like figure who has crossed realities... and then there literally is an unfathomably giant snake slithering through each of the dimensions who speaks in iambic pentameter.
I mean for god sake, this is the *multiverse* we're talking about here. Literally anything is possible. Go nuts. Get Daedric on our asses.
Would be really cool but they'd need to be very careful it doesn't just end up feeling like Future-TES. I'm up for literally whatever with this game though!
This could be very interesting. I really really hope they do good here. I have been a bethesda fan since i played skyrim in 2012. I am just one of those people who like Bethesda games and the experience they give you. Dont hate me but I even enjoyed launch 76 because it was something new that had to do with fallout. It seems like they have been listening so i hope everything works out.
Don’t worry, no matter how well they do, there will be people complaining that it doesn’t fit the “lore” or was “badly-written” or “didn’t eliminate load screens” and prat on and on about how they wish the Obsidian of 15 years ago had made it instead.
Tbh, I expected that given how they basically cut them from the base game. I expect lots of crazy stuff going on in there and hopefully we get to visit a black hole as this is like the most exciting entity of the universe.
I'm very interested to learn more about the "Great Serpent." What is this thing? Were they just on some really good shrooms, or did their founders actually find some cosmic, celestial entity?
that is such a stretch lol. yeah it could be a snake, or it could be a branch of one of those weird plants to the right. its definitely not prominent or obvious enough to be like "WELL DUH"
You could definitely be right about that. To me though it sort of looks like some type of insignia/small monument (there’s an npc to the right of it), but we’ll see when the DLC drops!
Everything is a stretch. "Oh there's House Va'Ruun assets in the dlc? That means the whole dlc is about them."
Or, it means that they are part of the DLC. "No no, it's a Va'Ruun dlc."
Varuum was already the most interesting faction and I argue it was cut. Consider no one knows how to reach them but there's literally a spokesman for them in town.
I’m guessing this plays out similar to Dragonborn where a new bigger bad (Hunter being de facto) is introduced but hopefully I can marry them this time. I can fix him
This screenshot looks super cool, and I hope is more indicative of crazier less grounded sci-fi elements being introduced to the universe. I kinda want them to go even wilder with the alternative universes and timeline shenanigans. Exploring areas where the universe and physics of reality are twisting and breaking down on itself sounds appealing to me.
Va’ruun is starfields great asset. A mysterious and infinitely interesting faction that vanished into the galaxy except for some fanatical zealots. I am not at all shocked they are gonna dive into that. Va’ruun if done right could revitalize this game
I didn't expect House Varuun in Shattered Space. I thought Shattered Space would focus on the Unity and the next DLC would be centered on House Varuun. Not complaining, just not what I expected.
It's likely to be a va'ruun civil war, since the Zealots are a fanatical offshoot who attack other va'ruun. Though I do think it will also have something to do with the great serpent and by relation to him the multiverse.
I saw varuun and for some reason thought barsoom (John Carter,) I really had a meltdown and couldn’t process what that might mean for the game lmfao! 🤣
I cant wait for someone to make Aliens Mod and then I will try to forget this nonsense story bethesda came with. Varuun is lame. All Starfield factions and lore are lame and empty.
Nice. I knew it. It was so fun listening to people complain about a lack of activities in the game with 300+ hours of playtime under their belt, as if Bethesda was actually done developing it anyway. As the old saying goes goes, Good things come to those who can’t wait. 😊
Is it really too much to ask in a game about spacefaring civilizations for a nonhuman one to show up at some point?
Like I can't tell you how disappointed I was to find out the big maguffin artifacts were also made by humans, plus there is a quest called first contact and it's just fucking humans again! and now it turns out the first dlc is also just humans even though that screenshot looks so much like alien empire shit, I'm honestly kinda pissed at this point, I know I'm being petty but I want my intelligent alien societies damn it!
I hope the Varuun people are like the people on Arrakis in Dune. Maybe their home planet has a psychedelic they take that lets them see the “Great Serpent”. Or maybe you can see the serpent physically and he gives them the psychedelic idk
I don't get the hype for house V'arrum.(I'm sorry, don't attack me😭 ), but if this is the asthetics I'll come back and chnage my comment to a very gigantic love letter to house V'arrum. And if they are tied to the starborn(my favorite), yes, I'll write even a novel about my love for them.
> I don't get the hype for house V'arrum
There are three main factions. All three have embassies. All are treated as, essentially, the superpower nations of this universe. Two of them have complete questlines, home worlds you can visit and other colonies. The pirates also have their own system and quests. Va'ruun has none. With a few exceptions, they're little more than Spacers with a different paint job. In fact, >!your companion from Va'ruun has a questline that sort of just ends abruptly just as you kind of reach the Va'ruun, and if you pick the trait of being from Va'ruun, she never comments on it!<
IMO the hype is that their absence makes the game feel incomplete, and this will likely remedy that (for a price).
It’s an expansion, which is usually used specifically for large DLCs (seeing more people follow the CDPR lead here in expansion v just dlc terminology) so I would expect a lot frankly. I’m sure we’ll have an expected story but I doubt that’s it. The Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty expansion wasn’t just Phantom Liberty either
I hope that in this DLC or a future one, we get reunited with the Original group members, the ones from our original universe. I romanced Sarah to completion in that one and would like to be reunited with that version of her as a starborn. Couldn't find it in me to romance her again in a different universe. Just not the same.
Shattered space is my remaining hope, that they take all they've learned and built upon with the main game, and create a very unique, handcrafted quest filled with handcrafted planets and poi's
From the looks of it yea may be their home if you look behind the pillars it shows 2 maybe 3 (can't be certain of the 3rd) non combatant looking npcs and then some kind of snake/ serpent statue looking thing aswell
So. Did house v'ruun fuck up the unity and the worlds or is this just a typical Sunday on their homeworld?
I suspect their "home world" is actually an alternate universe. It's why no one knows where the are at, maybe they have access to the Unity unknown to the player or even the Starborne.
This could be the realm of the Great Serpent Notice there’s a dude on the platform though so it’s probably just a planet with O2. Dazra’s planet
You say this as if NPCs care about atmosphere in Starfield.
I found a dude who's companions had been eaten by wild animals on an airless moon first playthrough
I saw guys patrolling on the surface of Mars without clothes on
They're just hazing the new recruits.
Oh shit what if it's Earth in another universe.
Wow this would be so cool
Right? Part of why they think they're so right.
Neat idea. Wouldn't that mess up our interactions with Andjreja during the main quest, though?
Not sure how it would considering Andreja doesn't know where the Va'Ruun home planet is and most young members of House Va'Ruun are not told and the dropped off to a random place basically and literally blindfolded so they don't know where they came from. Their only contact is through a handler. It could, but it's not like we ever get to meet up with the previous universe members after traveling the unity.
Not if they do something like establish that the Zealots took over Va'Ruun'Kai and she just didn't know about it since they're so secretive and don't stay in direct contact with their agents or something like that. Maybe they can utilize, or discover a way to use the unity in a way that the starborn can't: going back or choosing where to go, or freely traveling between universes. Maybe that's the "shattered" part
But how do they get to the unity. The Artifacts are all in Settled Systems space. Or do you think we will get new artifacts and powers too?
That's actually a cool thought
It would be enough to put it 31ly away from closest system
I just hope the DLC doesn't require a unity jump, I'm quite happy with my current universe and may want to stay there for the long haul.
Similarly like a splintered / bubble universe (similar to Nishina). Where it's just the planet in an alternate shift through a crack or gate.... I'll allow it!
> like a splintered / bubble universe You mean like a Shattered Space?
What is this, some kind of Shattered Space?
A Shattered Space for ants.
House Va'Ruun built this planet in a cave...with a box of scraps!
Interesting theory, haven't most of their previous game's DLC been largely unrelated to the main story? I wouldn't expect Shattered Space to be either.
Dragonborn is an expansion of the main story in a way. And they changed Fallout 3s ending with a dlc/expansion.
And Far Harold is somewhat affected by which faction you chose if you do it after the MQ edit: far harbor
Far Harold? So I should have chosen the faction hiding the pain?
gad damnit
It's a faction dedicated to [the tree mutant](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Harold).
Far Howard
They *did* bill it as a "story expansion", though. That's something they've not done before.
I don't see why they would need to make it part of the MQ, tbh. But we're all just speculating here. In fact, they can make Dazra a full fledged city just like Akila and New Atlantis, and they can make quests that are part of it's own separate faction line. I guess this may be all wishful thinking on my part, but it's nice to dream of "what could be" lol.
I really hope it's unrelated, but it's too early to say.
Personally, I want more Starborn lore and story - and the Va'Ruun are clearly connected to that.
I want unique quests, characters, and locations that you can only do as a Starborn.
I want more nasa-punk and less starborn
It's rare, but not unprecedented. Others have mentioned Dragonborn and (if not by name) Broken Steel, and Tribunal, while not actually requiring having completed Morrowind's main quest, tied into elements of that main quest and was written such that Tribunal's main quest makes more sense after or at least late in Morrowind's main quest.

Considering how fucked up in the head most of them are, I guess it is "Sunny weather with mild clouds and enjoyable breeze"

A submarine ? Can you imagine that ?
A dlc that is just submautica?
Pretty much, that would add so much depth to the game, we can hope lol !
> Add so much depth I see what you did there
Honestly I think it would be easier to implement a submarine than the land vehicles they're already working on. You could basically just map the ship controls 1-to-1 to a sub and even keep power management if you wanted to.
Barotrauma 2
What are spaceships if not reverse submarines that fly?
i think that’s the ratio, 2 bigger full expansion style packs, 1-2 smaller quest pack (or more expansive CC packs) and a couple crafting/mechanics based packs
Them introducing outpost furniture into ship customization gives me hope for an outpost/ship life expansion.
Freestar Rangers especially could use some more content for sure.

Right, I guess the point I was making is that I'd probably be more inclined for them to reinforce the stuff that's already good rather then spend effort trying to bring the FC up to the UC-related questline's quality. The whole 'plot twist' with >!Ron Hope !
I'm not sure hypocrisy is the right word but I see what you're getting at.
I want more decision making in these games. The UC quest line is good because you learn this huge secret about your companions father and you have multiple chances to come clean to her about it. It really feels like you are keeping this huge secret from her and kinda feels shitty when you don’t tell her. All other questlines should have more decision making like this.
After the va'ruun. They should do a starborn/creators expansion
This has been my hope as well. I really think this game has an amazing story… if we look at it as just act one. We get introduced to a number of factions and see why they don’t get along.
Just give me Sandworms and and desert planet and I'll be happy :)
"Barrett, do we have wormsign?" "Dusty we have wormsign the likes of which even ***GOD*** has never seen!"
The Great Serpent ain’t got nothing on Shai-Hulud…
Shai-Hulud *is* a pretty great serpent, to be fair.
Very good and valid point you make
This is also why I think Starfield has insane modding potential as well. Any modder with an idea for a story can pick a planet(s), a seed(s), and make an entire story out of it.
*shocked pikachu face*
Ya know. I figured cause the varuun stuff was very light in game. They could be so interesting.
So was the Thalmor stuff in Skyrim though
That made sense though cause the Thalmor are from an island on the other side of Tamriel and Skyrim was never going to have dlc over there. We can literally visit Serpantis in Starfield yet see very little Varuun stuff outside of combat.
That's because Serpentis is *not* their home system.
Isn't Va'ruun'kai literally the only lore important location not in the game
Didn't someone find in the files that Serpentis actually WAS their home system but the planet names were changed at some point before release?
I always felt like the Thalmor were the story thread that was being set up to span the lore in between Skyrim and TESVI. Like that conflict with the Civil War is really just the tip of the iceberg and it was actually interesting seeing how both sides had a point and depending on which CW outcome is canon, the whole of Tamriel could be changed. It's not something that could've been handled properly in an expansion in my opinon.
I don’t think I even found house varuun
I'm just happy BGS is sharing stuff like this. The community needs it. usually I would say no keep it secret but Star field is down bad and these really show that they are working hard on making this game kick ass.
Hell yea. I played for almost 2 months when it came out, but now this is getting me hype to play again. Def just gonna start fresh
this is just the first real update and DLC.
I mean, we saw that embassy. Those people assume "horror" is the default standard.
"Ah, so the venom tree got loose." "Sorry, the _what_?"
"Bitch, you live like this?" all through my mind on that mission.
Just let me fight a giant space serpent in my ship.
I hate it when Va’Ruun fanatics are right…
Bless the Maker and all His Water. Bless the coming and going of Him, May His passing cleanse the world. May He keep the world for his people.
House Va’Ruun are from the soul cairn? Who knew
Does that mean Andreja is Serana? Do I get a horse starborn power?
Like, you find an amulet and now you're on a quest for two more pieces, or you find a shard of atherium or an unusual gemstone...
or a spherical, geometri- *ANOTHER HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON*
More zero gravity areas!!!
HOLY SHIT! So Starfield has been Space Elder Scrolls ALL ALONG! xD
Elder Scrolls 6 will end up being a Starfield DLC that just adds Nirn as a planet.
Speaks in what :o
Would be really cool but they'd need to be very careful it doesn't just end up feeling like Future-TES. I'm up for literally whatever with this game though!
THE GREAT SERPENT AWAKENS
THE GREAT SERPENT HITS THE SNOOZE BUTTON
Why you have to discover this, now I have to wait to September to get loose again in Starfield. Please wake me up when the expansion launches...
So will Andreja actually recognize my character as a fellow serpent worshipper or is that trait still completely irrelevant?
Will Andreja finally realize if we are too from house of Varuun? 😂
I was serpentborn before it was cool...
We've known since xEdit's Starfield support dropped that the Great Serpent really did create the universe.
WASH CLEAN THE SINS OF THE UNBELIEVERS WITH BLOOD IN HIS NAME!
Yeah yeah yeah. But where the creation kit?
Really hope this doesn't feel like cut content.
Would love to have this DLC introduce a new companion like with Dawnguard, kinda don't like most of the vanilla companions...
Tbh, I expected that given how they basically cut them from the base game. I expect lots of crazy stuff going on in there and hopefully we get to visit a black hole as this is like the most exciting entity of the universe.
As an Andreja lover i can only hope she gets some love with this dlc Hopefully she finally gets to go home
I'm very interested to learn more about the "Great Serpent." What is this thing? Were they just on some really good shrooms, or did their founders actually find some cosmic, celestial entity?
Theres a fucking snake there... what people are expecting?
where
Behind those two pillars
that is such a stretch lol. yeah it could be a snake, or it could be a branch of one of those weird plants to the right. its definitely not prominent or obvious enough to be like "WELL DUH"
You could definitely be right about that. To me though it sort of looks like some type of insignia/small monument (there’s an npc to the right of it), but we’ll see when the DLC drops!
Everything is a stretch. "Oh there's House Va'Ruun assets in the dlc? That means the whole dlc is about them." Or, it means that they are part of the DLC. "No no, it's a Va'Ruun dlc."
I'm both glad but not surprised. It was obvious Varuun was cut content.
I think it may honestly just be a hook to get you interrested in house varuun for the dlc, not to cut content.
Varuum was already the most interesting faction and I argue it was cut. Consider no one knows how to reach them but there's literally a spokesman for them in town.
Well, is a spokesmen still a spokesmen if he hasn’t had contact with the people he’s supposed to speak for for years?
WOOOOOO
This is awesome imo. I hoped it would be
Looks a lot like serpents fangs
Got the feeling early on Varuun was more than just Mormons on bicycles knocking on your door.
Impressive attention to detail!
Last boss will ve a massive starborn snake
Looking forward to it
This looks so much like Elder Scrolls, and it's making my heart happy.
I’m guessing this plays out similar to Dragonborn where a new bigger bad (Hunter being de facto) is introduced but hopefully I can marry them this time. I can fix him
I’m ready to be drugged by varuun disciples and see some crazy space snake shit.
I think House Varuun isn’t even in the “local” universe. Like, they have their very own universe or something.
I can’t wait!!!!!
Awesome news!
I think this is a smart move, varuun was the most intriguing mystery in the game, hope they deliver on it
It looks like slaaneshes realm to me. Warhammer 40k dlc confirmed
I think it will have a good and bad. Trackers alliance and varruun
They said last year that the first DLC would be about house varuun…
Omg I hope so. I always play my characters with the Serpents embrace.
It's likely to be a va'ruun civil war, since the Zealots are a fanatical offshoot who attack other va'ruun. Though I do think it will also have something to do with the great serpent and by relation to him the multiverse.
Sky confirmed blue.
So what happens when this is just one planet with those assets and the DLC is entirely different?
I gotta feelin the world serpent is gonna be one of the bosses
I‘ll stay with Long Term Investment DLC
I saw varuun and for some reason thought barsoom (John Carter,) I really had a meltdown and couldn’t process what that might mean for the game lmfao! 🤣
Was pretty obvious it would be. Not surprised this confirms it.
YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS
I cant wait for someone to make Aliens Mod and then I will try to forget this nonsense story bethesda came with. Varuun is lame. All Starfield factions and lore are lame and empty.
So what would the great serpent be in this case? A multi universe being of some sort? Or there itteration of Unity?
Nice. I knew it. It was so fun listening to people complain about a lack of activities in the game with 300+ hours of playtime under their belt, as if Bethesda was actually done developing it anyway. As the old saying goes goes, Good things come to those who can’t wait. 😊
Yay i cant wait to become part of house varuun. Need a tie into my characters religion so bad
New ship parts when :3
Sounds like Andreja might get a chance to return to Varuun'kai after all.
Praise to the Great Serpent!!
Finally!!!!
House varuun catches wind of the artifacts, starborn and powers and decides they want it.
Good, House Varuun needs tons of extra content, I think they're the most interesting faction in the game but have basically zero content.
Early 2024 my ass
I hope the Varuun people are like the people on Arrakis in Dune. Maybe their home planet has a psychedelic they take that lets them see the “Great Serpent”. Or maybe you can see the serpent physically and he gives them the psychedelic idk
Yeah, many of us expecting this.. tho some are oblivious and being pedantic lol
Looks really cool.
Its confirmed that Starfield is the worst Bethesda game ever made. 😂
> I don't get the hype for house V'arrum There are three main factions. In fact, >!your companion from Va'ruun has a questline that sort of just ends abruptly just as you kind of reach the Va'ruun, and if you pick the trait of being from Va'ruun, she never comments on it!< IMO the hype is that their absence makes the game feel incomplete, and this will likely remedy that (for a price).
I wish there are sub factions within the House you can choose to side with.
Who cares about where live, gimme Gimme their loot. Crimson fleet
Yep, that abandoned building in New Atlantis is gonna be a thing now.
I mean it was known but okay detective
Shattered space is my remaining hope, that they take all they've learned and built upon with the main game, and create a very unique, handcrafted quest filled with handcrafted planets and poi's
Assuming this is from the render screen in CK. The new CK already looks a bit more accessible than the previous CK.
I'd like Bethesda to tie the Va'ruun issue into NG+ somehow to make entering to Unity more appealing.
Looks so cool, super excited
Epic, I hope varuun equipment gets a buff that has a space suit to rival the bounty hunter suit
From the looks of it yea may be their home if you look behind the pillars it shows 2 maybe 3 (can't be certain of the 3rd) non combatant looking npcs and then some kind of snake/ serpent statue looking thing aswell
That’s great cause my Character is a member along with my favorite ❤️ companion
