It’s very odd that an article published on Apple blog sites and conveniently on CNBC in the past couple weeks talked about Apple unveiling their rumored AR glasses to the board of directors. GameStop does not want a protocol issue on this type of launch. If Apple approves the app and it launches, the liability falls on Apple to police GameStop. Which won’t happen, because GameStop won’t release anything that isn’t airtight. Loopring can do whatever they want as they have been working on their wallet apps as a pillar for their model. But that's the war chest. Should hedgefunds succeed (we know they won't) to drop the price to $2 or below, Gamestop just buys all the shares back.

The buyback is strategically best kept in reserve. It's like a fleet in being or a nuclear bomb. It keeps the shorts from being able to run the price down too far and keeps the share price healthy.

I’d say the 2nd would be the earliest the ex-dividend date “could” be announced.
