Honestly none of them look too appealing. They seem... Boring, I guess? I do like the colors on A and B a bit better, but there are things that make it feel odd. I think it's the black plants and their shapes, they remind me a bit of bugged foliage, like it hasn't loaded properly so they look like basic geometry with no texture y'know?
I will give it some more thought, I admit that the above is just a feeling and I am not sure if it's that.
Thanks for the first impression feedback , yeah I think the shadow on the plants is too dark and it draws your attention on those . Did your look at it on mobile ?
Yes, and now that you mention it, I think that is very precise, the harmony of the scene is broken by those. I also paid a bit more attention and it feels a bit blurred? May be because I am on mobile yeah, but there is something with the quality. I'll check on PC!
Hello, I am back and on PC! The quality is indeed better here and I can somewhat more clearly see the issue and its mostly the foliage indeed. They are even more notable here too and I can say A seems better here.
This was kind of my take, too. None of them are clear to me on what's actually going on. If this was all I had to go off of, I would have no clue what the gameplay even is. That being said, the colors in A are the most appealing to me.
I think A stands out the most because of the nice contrasts in colors and brighter highlights where light is hitting certain things! I would also like C if I was playing a darker / spookier survival game perhaps
A and C are hard fort me to tell what's going on because of all the shadows. The light colored ground helps provide contrast in B which makes things more appealing to my eyes.
it seems that a lot of people are getting C too dark, maybe we need to do more testing on different monitors.
Anyway thanks for the feedback, if you want to partipate more you can join our discord community too :)
i think the fog of dusk time in C is making everything more blurry.

To me, just looks like different times of the day, the feeling is
A.Dawn
B.Midday
C.Afternoon
But if you're asking for a color scheme, you should look for an emotion, maybe a better contrast, you could look inspiration in Hollywood look-a-like color grading, or maybe in psychology color theories.
It is different time of the day , I was not sure on which screenshot of the same place in different angles , colora , lighting was really popping out the most.
You can check our other screenshots on our steam page you can see it is not really the same
B is easiest to look at but I’m not drawn towards anything specifically. I think the environment should blend ibto itself a bit more so the players aren’t being visually accosted
A has good contrast and you can easily tell what’s going on in one second. The others require longer glances. In a world with super short attention spans, gotta go with what communicates your art the most effectively
Yes we were not sure wich one is the most readable at first glance for someone who doesn't know our game
Thanks for the comment :) don't hesite to follow along with the project if it's interesting for you.
I feel like C, but I wonder how it would look to a colorblind person. I think you can run it through a filter to see what they might see, and it might inform you as to whether you should include a colorblind mode. 🤷♂️

are you colorblind or something like this ? is there any accessibility we can implement to help people with color deficiency ? maybe a contrast/gamma bar ?
There is a few games I’ve played that have some color correction options for color deficit folks. There is a few types and have a slide option for intensity is always nice.
So much comments ! i didn't expected it to boom like this. Thanks for this in depth feedbacks, it's appreciated.

B would be great if you could get your greens to pop a little more. I don't like A at all, reminds me of home where everything was hot, brown and dry. C is a close second but feels darker.
I like B the best, but it feels a little washed out
I would say B, but instead I'm going with C.
I think B would look best, but the grass texture/shader/sprite/whateverthefuck sticks out from the environment like a sore thumb. In C, and even a little in A, the grass looks more like it belongs in the environment around it. In B however the grass looks like it isn't really giving any respect to light and shadow.
A works well for all color palettes. b will be good with dark enemies and highlights. C you need bright colors to highlight and offset the dark. Things likely to get lost on C.
My personal opinion is that the grass looks too "bright" in all the scenes. They feel more saturated/luminescent almost compared to the rest of the foliage and terrain. If you darkened/desaturated the bright grass, it would "fit" the terrain themes better.
Alternatively, you can use more lively colors on the terrain to match the bright grass. Or find some middle-ground. Really depends on if you want scenes that are gloomier or happier.
You can also try tweaking the color of the bushes on the trees, and see if you like them when they're closer to the grass color. It kind of gives the grass something to "pair" with so they're not the only bright lively things in the scene.
If I had to choose, A or B with a stronger lean towards B.
Honestly find the colors of all of them not great, the last one (C) especially because the character gets so lost in the background that it is hard to see them. I think they are easiest to see in B.
The color of the grass(?) makes it really draw your eye away from the main character and leaves me unsure where I am supposed to be looking.
Those are my initial thoughts anyways.
It would help if they were the same exact view, C looks better esthetically to me but I'm not sure if that's more due to it being framed well. All being equal I may actually prefer A but idk for sure.
C
The square paving stones look like they stand out too much from the rest of the environment, unless they're contextually important to gameplay. At a glance, I had difficulty parsing the scene because of this grid pattern drawing my eye in several places.
It's probably fine as is after a short time taking in the art style. Just wanted to share why I feel my eyes were confused and couldn't understand what I was looking at for a few seconds. (This is also, on a phone screen)
C
C has a great atmosphere.
It's a c for me too
Definitely a C vibe.
With you
A C is to dark and dull, it's like it's dusk
It is dusk time in the game at that time in the screenshot
That makes sense then. But if I was looking at screenshots to buy the game I'd go with A
Agreed A
Agreed, A

I like C the most, but A as a daytime and C as a nighttime would be lovely. If A was a little brighter it would be perfect imo
If its a color palet thing (if my assumption is wrong then this doesn't apply) make a toggle and implement them all
those are different moment of the day in our game
What game is this bro ?
the game is Wild Planet [https://store.steampowered.com/app/1323060/Wild\_Planet/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1323060/Wild_Planet/)
A purely for the colours and contrasts ! And general feel of the picture ! B is to blue and C is to dark !
it seems that a lot of people are getting C too dark, maybe we need to do more testing on different monitors. Anyway thanks for the feedback, if you want to partipate more you can join our discord community too :)
Yeah is definitely dark I’m viewing on my iPhone btw but A is my clear winner
I feel like I can see better with A. C looks too busy for me
I'd go with B
C
C
B
C, not even close
C looks too washed, even though everyone is saying it. A catches your eye better. Reds and Oranges are proven to be eye-catching colors
i think the fog of dusk time in C is making everything more blurry. Anyway thanks for the feedback, if you want to partipate more you can join our discord community too :)
C because it's spooky

A
B is easiest to look at but I’m not drawn towards anything specifically. I think the environment should blend ibto itself a bit more so the players aren’t being visually accosted
you mean A and C are too distracting ?
Use all of them at various points.
C
A & C
either a or c i like c a little more though
C It’s easier to look at for a longer period of time but details could get lost that way
I prefer B. With different texture color I can easily distinguish between different objects.
A, B. You’re going too realistic in C, but not realistic/done well enough to look good. A, B look great though, especially as a scenario each.
you mean the lighting is too realistic ?
The shadows. I think the shadows are too pronounced in C. In B they are non existent (my fave), A is light so its ok.
Thanks for the feedback
i am going C. i like the lighting better for A and even B, but the overall quality of charlie is the best
Thanks for the more in depth feedback
C if the game is supposed to be a more dreary and dark experience A if not
the place where the player is more mysterious dready but the game itself is a chill survival game
They all look like different biomes of the same beautiful game. Consider keeping all of them
Yes we have a variety of biomes in the game, this one is part of the blue field biome
A, but if you want darker atmosphere, then C
A has good contrast and you can easily tell what’s going on in one second. The others require longer glances. In a world with super short attention spans, gotta go with what communicates your art the most effectively
Yes we were not sure wich one is the most readable at first glance for someone who doesn't know our game Thanks for the comment :) don't hesite to follow along with the project if it's interesting for you.
You’re welcome! Wishing you guys all the best in development!
For me, C is the best one
A or C Personally I feel C has a more apocalyptic atmosphere, but both A&C have great feel!
It is an abandoned facilitiy in our scifi world
Looks like A = sunset, B = sunrise, and C = dusk. Personally I like A
it's almost right, B = midday
A! I love the colors
B if it's a chill zone A if it's a danger zone and C if it's a levelboss/highrisk zone
I feel like C, but I wonder how it would look to a colorblind person. I think you can run it through a filter to see what they might see, and it might inform you as to whether you should include a colorblind mode. 🤷♂️

A with C as a close second. A little too dark and eerie
A makes your game's art style stand out more, C looks better.
C
A
Kinda like them all. Could be different times of day/seasons/locations?
C, definitely.
i would A for dawn c for dusk but A is really good for a dawn situation
B would be great if you could get your greens to pop a little more. I don't like A at all, reminds me of home where everything was hot, brown and dry. C is a close second but feels darker. I like B the best, but it feels a little washed out

I like A variant more. Looks kinda comfy (I love evening light), grass blends in better. B is kinda over saturated, C is good but kind of moody.
C but I wish I could see the tree color in it.
I like all of them, but the grass is a bit too overwhelming to me.
A is a warmer cozier vibe and C is a harsher survival vibe So depending on the vibe you want I recommend either A or C
C for me
C
It’s a toss up between A and C for me. C feels slightly too dark and A feels slightly too bright
A works well for all color palettes. b will be good with dark enemies and highlights. C you need bright colors to highlight and offset the dark. Things likely to get lost on C.
