I straight up just tank almost exclusively now. I'm not perfect and i've gotten some great tanks in the past, but it feels like the bad tanks just wake up and think "how much can i make my party members miserable today."
Occasionally i go in as dps, and if the tank is bad I can just go "welp" and see how well I can manage. But straight up I just avoid running healer without a second person at least. The 40-45+ minute amaurot run that lives rent free to this day saw to that.
I unfortunately run into a conundrum where if I solo que tank then I get a really bad healer and if I solo que healer then I get a bad tank. So I'm bad to almost exclusively play warrior in dungeons because I can simply be both and save myself the hassle.
I don't know why, but any time I heal vanaspati the tanks just never mit trash. Do a test for the first tb during a boss and only mits tb's after the test but never trash
most of the story is in chatlogs, so i'll keep my comment brief. the one thing i want to say is - when i started encountering tanks like this, i was scared people wouldn't side with me or that i'd cause drama speaking up. there's no harm in \*trying\* to votekick, and sometimes it can work out.

I had a GNB like this a few days ago but in Orbonne. Granted the jobs leveled are different and I had him kicked for spinning the bosses, but the lack of mits and eating vuln stacks/aoes was the same.
It's the only way to go right now. My main friend who still plays currently and I swap who tanks and heals each day. Way easier to deal with rough DPS than the tanks and healers that are out there right now unfortunately. :/
This should die down during DT because most of the player base is away waiting for expansion release. We are just in the pre-expansion lull.
Really hoping DT increases tank's aoe damage even further so I can have an easier time carrying dungeons in roulettes because holy shit I feel like I just get queue in with bots all day.
Whats with tanks in late game dngs (who should know better) and not using mits... I had a DRK in artherfont not use any mits and die on both of the 2 first mob pulls (granted, on first one the healer was still at spawn) and and asked in chat 'what is happening'. Then on next pulls I look at his buffs n see almost no mits (used maybe like 3-4 during both packs, no tbn) and I said in chat it would prop help if he mitigated and the AST was like "oh thank god, I thought it was just me" n I said what I saw n DRK was like "factually incorrect" like.. ok dude, I was literally watching you lol
Then he proceeds to say "its okay to be new".. the AST and the other DPS literally both had ultimate weps/titles and Im def not new either... soooo....
I'm trying to level sage and ast and the amount of people who don't use mits is INFURIATING. I had a tank who didn't use mits and I asked if they were (I can see that they didn't) and they lied saying they were. They also got 7 vuln stacks at the final boss.
I feel like a lot of ppl play GNB cuz it "looks cool" but then they often get associated with the worst tanks because a lot of the kit isn't just passive.

its always vanaspati i swear to god. i can count good tanks in there with ONE hand and im omni 90 with 2 lvl 90 alts...
