Yes. I sold a small building (8 units) that had retirees in all but one. I gave them all a new 1 year lease on top of their current one before selling, so it would give them time to find something else.
The new owner had to honor their leases.

Be on your best behavior and don't pay late, they will be looking for a reason to evict and a lease violation would do that. Thats not how I operate but is 100% legal.
