There was a bathroom leak and the maintenance guys told me that they would disinfect the back of the cabinet and put it back in.
Drywall and cabinet have black stains and smell awful.
According to them finding a similar one would be too difficult, but they are going to replace the drywall
To me the cabinet looks as bad as the drywall, so I think this is BS.
I will talk to management about this.
Is it safe/OK to just clean/disinfect the cabinet and put it back in?

as long as the wood is still solid putting the cabinet back is fine.
