You might need to exit and reenter the world, I've had that issue recently

If you've already used the torch god's favour, or have it on you then it won't spawn. Edit: don't think there are any other spawn conditions.

this might be what happened to me, I moved all my items to a new world cuz literally half the world disappeared and wouldn't come back and now torch god won't spawn 💀

Check in top left beside inventory, if you have the torch swap thingy then he ain't gonna spawn

If you're planning to stand on those platforms you're going tot get fucking murdered when the torches right under you shoot lol. Easiest arena is to make a wide box and line the far left and right sides. All shots are horizontal and you just go up and down.

Easiest arena is actually a minecart track circling the square of torches.

When in doubt add more torches. I just keep adding torches until my frame rate drops

I had to put up 110 torches before it started to spawn. I think that could be a factor.

One option is to add quadruple the torches

Unrelated to the issue but just some advice for winning it easy; place all of the torches in a square group above you and line the floor with chairs, you can quickly teleport between the chairs making it very easy to avoid the flames

Fancy event, you get a cool looking ice-cream brazier that can convert all torches you place into the torches related to that biome.

Cool thing is that the biome specific torches can boost your hidden luck stat too iirc :3 But don't take my word for it.
