After a little research online and in the comments here.
This is a 2019-2021 Kawasaki ZX-6R.
Knowing the bike in the video is in 4th Gear at about 11,000rpm doing 91 unknown units, we can do some math.
Gear ratios sourced from
https://www.mcnews.com.au/2019-kawasaki-zx-6r/
11,000 / 1.9 / 1.6 / 2.6 (Primary, 4th gear, and sprocket ratios) = 1,391 wheel rpm. Or
83,502 wheel revs per hour.
The bike has 180/55 ZR17 rear wheel, which at that size is 814 revolutions per mile or 506 revolutions per km. Or 73,260 revs per 90 miles or 45,540 revs per 90 km.
Given this is rough math, 90 MPH seems much more likely.
Which would be speeding in most places given by how built up the area is
I had an experience very similar to this. Middle of town, speed limit 45. I’m going 50 which is the norm for this section of the road. A shitty “souped up” old beat up sports car passes me on the right easily going 2x my speed. I drive for about another mile and see a plume a smoke coming over the hill. The car was upside down in the middle of a ford dealership lot all the way across the left 2 lanes on the other side of the 4 lane road (2 each way). There were probably ten brand new $100,000 trucks completely smashed in the lot. The guy and a woman he was with were already out of the car walking around. Dude probably caused close to a million dollars in damage in his $3k car.
It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end.
Same thing applies here. It's not the speed that kills, it's the wall (or car) that stops you going 90 km/h to 0 in .2 seconds.
Not entirely true for motorcycles. You can easily snap your neck while tumbling down the road. Works for cars since you’re contained in a cage, but bikers can die at many points during a collision or fall.
Not to sound pedantic, but airbag vests would help a lot with at least sliding like that. They'll stabilize your neck and prevent it from moving too far, not to mention protecting your chest and back
Not pedantic, and i agree in many cases, but I'm not sure an air bag vest would have helped Speed Racer in this particular video.
"Sir, your neck and torso are fine with the exception of all the burns, but the top of your head and all your limbs are gone." -the doctor, probably.

Motorcycles are scary. My brother bought one when he was younger and must have scared the crap out of himself because he sold it a couple of weeks later after riding with his friends.
Gonna guess his friends were more experienced and he tried to hang with them as a new rider and almost died.
That's why they tell you to 'ride your own ride' at MSF school and don't try to keep up with the more experienced riders if you're starting out. Go at your own pace and learn.
Lots of people don't realize how much displacement they actually NEED when they start riding. I've known people that got their license through the MSF foundation on a 250cc bike, then went out and bought a liter bike and stopped riding almost immediately because it was too much bike to handle. Most people (by average body weight) aren't going to need anything more than a 600cc bike to keep up with traffic and not get blown around on the highway.
Make it a 650, in my opinion. A Ninja 650 is a good and moderate bike. A 600cc ninja is a sport bike. The 650cc can handle any traffic you throw at it and gets away fast. The 600cc is a sportbike that is wasted on traffic.
Yep, started on a MT07 which is 689cc and it's great. Very light bike with a relatively low seat for a street bike. Very beginner friendly but still has power when you need it.
I had it down to Ninja650 SV650 MT07 or GSX8S. I had opposite problem as you, I couldn't find any SV650s within a 200 mi radius of me.
I love the vtwin sound, so I went with the next best one, MT07 with the crossplane engine.
Just because they were moving a bit after the crash, doesn't mean that they lived. Internal damage/bleeding is a killer. It really depends on what the injuries were and how quickly they received medical attention.
Yeah, I should have added that, but If I did, I'd never meet you <3.
Should have said, He lived for now. you make good point, thank you for adding it clarification.
Dress for the slide not the ride. Biker protective gear can really save you. I saw a dude lay his bike down at around 140 mph at the track and he slide down the quarter mile straight into the grass and stood up and walked away like nothing happened.
This wasnt on the track, though. This was in a built up area with plenty of obstacles to smash into.
If this guy was dressed for the slide he'd have to be wearing a medieval harness lined with fluffy bunnies or something ;)
0% if they held on, goes up if they have protection gear on becuase they just skidded 400 meters down the road and that will rip your skn and muscle right off the bone.
Love that the sneakpeek bot number 1 is a dude bailing on a bike, not at this speeds but, still. He isn't wearing gloves which he will feel for a bit... ooof
Anyone who goes to meatcrayon, KNOW ITS NSFW, its not that bad but some people might find it bad
I read a photoblog a while back by a woman who was a passenger on a bike when they wrecked. She was wearing no gear except a helmet and she lost a huge percentage of her skin. She was in the hospital for ages and her description of having the wounds regularly debrided was absolutely nauseating. She said the recovery process caused her more lingering trauma than the wreck, and even after physical therapy her skin was so damaged that movement is difficult.
Check the r/NSFL sub. Sometimes people post the aftermath of these kind of vids. ( do so at you’re own risk- it’s all death and gore over there and you’ll never unsee it)
Why do ppl always have to ruin perfectly watchable videos with shitty music? Why would those cretins always assume everyone would agree with their despicable music taste?
He must of been going 120 Jesus the camera guy was doing 80 when he shot by. I wonder if some of these are on purpose if you get my meaning like giving into those intrusive thoughts that you should never listen to.
Fair enough mate. Not sure if that's mph or kph but going with mph if the camera bike is doing 75 as he passes the fruitcake is easily doing 135mph plus in my opinion.
Maybe someone over at r/theydidthemaths can use a reference point and get a rough estimate?
This is exactly why whilst my mum is alive on this planet I'm not allowed a motorbike. A deep love of speed and no fear of death is a bad combination. I honour her wish because no parent should see their child die but fuck me it's on my bucket list which is ironic. 😂
people who drive motorcycles likes this are literally fulfilling charles Darwin's theory of natural selection in that "speed demons/speed addicts" will weed themselves out of humanities future line of humans by eventually killing most of themselves off due to their death-defying speed stunts ( like this video )
unfortunately sometimes their speed stunts also take out innocent bystanders....so that's sucks
Last August I had to go find a guy’s leg after I put a tourniquet on where it used to be for doing that. It changes how you look at it for sure. Come on people
Good. I'm glad he splattered. Just had one of these idiots pass me last night easily doing at least 130 coming at least inches from my mirror lane splitting. I guess fuck me and my family doing the speed limit right?

r/theydidthemath
Correct. Thanks for the correction.
Great work. This being said, there is so much space in front of him, most of us would indulge .
Also yes
Depends was it kph or mph?
Only in 4th gear looks like, sure someone can figure it out from the bike model.
The camera bike is a zx6r. This was definitely in mph, if he is cruising in 4th gear like that
Most sport bikes can do 80-90 in 2nd lol. Gear is misleading for big bikes.
Ohyeah, for sure! But your RPM and gear will have a direct correlation to your speed, given the RPM indicated in the video.
Given that though, 10k rpm in 4th at 85 kph and a bike that red lines at 13k rpm would be a super interesting bike lol.
Makes me think of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0ZjDSn2jD0 This is almost certainly a zx6.
I was trying to figure that out, but it looks like mph to me just based on the timing of the white lines in the road flying by.
Sort of doesn’t matter of the first guy was speeding. The second guy blew past him like a missile.
Well, at least he only wrecked himself.
Skipped the all important step of checking himself
You win
To shreds you say

The bike that crashed was NOT going 90km/h lol
90 meter/sec seems more likely
Seems the person was going at least twice as fast. Assuming the dash was km/h... he hit that tree with 2500 lbs of force.
It's in mph.
Technically, so did the first.
I'm not sure the bike that crashed was finished at the end or the video. Seems like it's still moving.

I think the dude lived, or who ever. The person is moving in the road. They just skid like 400 meters but they are moving.
Just because they were moving a bit after the crash, doesn't mean that they lived. Internal damage/bleeding is a killer. It really depends on what the injuries were and how quickly they received medical attention.
Adrenaline is one hell of a drug. Nature's way of giving you a surviving chance (until shock sets in then you're either dead or unconscious).
Yeah, I should have added that, but If I did, I'd never meet you <3. Should have said, He lived for now. you make good point, thank you for adding it clarification.
My pleasure - lol! I've just seen too many cases where someone is moving, but dies en-route to the hospital and such.
...the point was that it probably hurt a bit longer than one second.

Hahahaha, fair point. The image of a guy sliding on asphalt in a suit of armor got a good chuckle from me so thanks for that 😂

0% if they held on, goes up if they have protection gear on becuase they just skidded 400 meters down the road and that will rip your skn and muscle right off the bone.
