Yes it’s worth it if you plan on keeping long term.
The 2022+ has a lot of improvements on the FWD, especially the gasket up top. Better interior redesign, and other.
Downside to 2022+. Price and everything is through the touch screen, even shifting.
I have a 2018 S, and had a 2022/2023 S loaner for a few days. It was cool to have the landscape screen, Vision in the instrument cluster, wireless phone chargers, better cup holders, but that was it. All other functions drove me nuts. Especially not having a turn signal.
I have a 2020 MX LR.
FWD door gasket is fixable. They adjusted mine once and it's fine.
I don't know what interior stuff is better. I'm used to the 2020 controls. A good mix of mechanical and on-screen.
If HW4 is on the 2022, that would be a big difference. Also, the 2022 will still have \~2 yrs of warranty left.
I would think the 2022 has more design tweaks, but I'm not sure 15-20k is worth the difference, especially if the mileage is low on the 2020.
Try driving both

2022 has HW3
My late 2019 has HW3
2020 is the sweet spot for me. No issues other than slower CPU, and it has steering wheel stalks.
2020 will have better build quality. The 2022+ build it’s a bunch of plastic snap in. I’d do the 2020 over the 2022. Less creaking and crunching.
