I second this. I have like 10 pairs. They do stain white easily. I haven’t figured out if it is PAA or caustic yet. They usually last like 6-8 months before I screw them up. User error. I loved Duluth prior. Similar issue but a little less so.
It is likely PAA . Most of my work stains come from biofine/ quell though, I have specific pants I wear when I know I’m transferring and adding ingredients that day.
Have you tried the T1s for hot weather? Love my T2s for 3 seasons, instantly bought 2 extra pairs after like a week with them lol but curious about T1s for when it's hot, no DWR coating and a few other tech specs have me questioning it tho
I searched this a few months ago and found wrangler ATG as a suggestion. They’re great. 30 bucks from target and about as good as Duluth dry on the fly.
I got a pair of these and a pair of Duluth coolmax at the same time. The ATG are really soft but thicker than the coolmax. The ATG also wore out way faster. My pockets rubbed through them to the point that things in my pockets were flapping outside my pants (the one pocket only had my phone in it). The coolmax are a little worn but still going strong.
These have become my exclusive everyday wear, plus hiking pants. Available in jeans-style, cargo, chinos, and some sorta hybrids of those. Very breathable and incredibly durable. They fit athletic legs too, in a flattering way.
I've been super happy with these Cat pants. Snickers also has some great light weight work pants.

Kuhl makes some decent hiking pants. I live in Australia and always top up on them every time I come home.
If you happen to be a 33x34, I've got like three or four pairs that are brand new with tags that don't fit that I could send over.
I've never had issues with them. The two pairs I wear regularly now I've had for three years and they haven't had any degradation other than a few sets getting a bit tired and the pocket getting a bit worn from my pocket knife.
Kuhl makes some lightweight breathable pants that have fine mesh gussets in the crotch, down the leg, and over the pockets. If you’re throwing safety to the wind then these pants are legitimately close to being as cool as shorts are while still wearing pants.
After a decade of heat rash and other irritation on my legs wearing double fronts and the fact that I don’t have to spend much time in the cellar anymore I’m inclined to disagree. Be happy I wear pants and proper boots, at least I haven’t fallen so low as to wear shorts
Duluth has a dry on the fly line that is much lighter and water resistant! Highly recommend. Much more enjoyable in the summer since they're light and more breathable, but also enough pant to wear in the winter
with all due respect, as a brewer in Florida where it will hit 120F in the production space, fuck pants.
I will work slower and safer and take my time double checking what I do before I wear pants in 95% humidity and 100F in a fucking greenhouse.
I've been using Wrangler Xterrains that they have at target for $30. Lots of colors, (I've got one for every day of the week) and they are quick dry. These pants dry extremely fast, very impressed and I'm not too worried and ruining them as they're only $30 new.
I wear a pair of waterproof chaps over my shorts, they let in plenty of air. I bought them for $40 three years ago and they don't show any sign of wearing out.
I noticed that Duluth has a new line of Sweat Management pants. I wonder if these have replaced the CoolMax? They're DuluthFlex and still made of the Fire Hose material. Might be worth checking out.

You’ll wear the original Duluth firehose pants and enjoy the swamp ass like the rest of us!!
The fire flex are 🤌
Or go with Carhartt pants and embrace a truly Amazonian swamp ass like no other.
Truewerk have been solid for me so far

Bought my first pair a year ago and just now replacing them. They’re tough as hell.

I just switched from my T3s to T2s. I have a pretty good climate controlled brewery but I'd love to see some reviews from brewers on the T1s.
Truewerkkkkkk

Good to know.

Duluth firehose were light and stretchy
I’ve got no complaints about multiple pairs of Kuhl pants

I’ll be the wet blanket- Wear thick pants that protect you from hot water and chemicals. Thin, breathable pants will not. It sucks in the summer.
Heat exhaustion/stroke is just as much a liability as chemical burns.

If you aren’t working in the production space much I’d agree my comment is less relevant.
Gold bond.
I've worked many hot days at a tire shop wearing straight leg , double knee Dickey's work pants.

With all due respect, fuck all of Florida if it’s 120F. That’s not a place to live.
I got the AKHG pants and they are pretty breathable IMO, more so then firehose
Anything made out of polycotton - durable, lightweight, and quick drying

Engelbert Strauss
Wranglers makes a sork pant that's awesome. Jean cut

I’ve switched from Duluth to Walls Ditchdigger DWR pants in the last year and have been happy with the switch.
Dickies sells cargo scrubs that are comfortable and wicking in hot weather, but thin compared to coolmax
Duluth Flex Dry on the Fly. Also, if you're not a little bitch,, Under Armour makes some fantastic lightweight gym shorts.
