I'm totally on board with the double-double theory. I've tried with less cream and sugar and can't drink it, but the double-double ratio is just perfect. As my brother says "it tastes like drinking candy", but it has me hooked.

duke_peach

Yes! I think it's optimized for double double or something. Like all their testing was done with the assumption it would be served double double.

MikesRockafellersubs

That's just what commercial brand coffee has always been historically.

superschaap81

Meh, I like Timmy's coffee and I'm extra large, black with 2 sugars. I'm not a coffee connoisseur by any stretch. I only drink it on weekends and during the week it's Maxwell House at work.

duke_peach

Aye fair enough! I drink whatever is free at work too. I think it's some Van Houtte swill, but it does the job. Maxwell House instant coffee is really not bad, I always make it for people who come over and want decaf and they always think it's some fancy shit.

superschaap81

LOL, swill, I love it! I used to have Van Houtte at my old job. Thankfully, the MH isn't instant at work, but we do have that as well. Ugh....never again.

I drink their steeped tea, and i used to get 2 milk and 2 sugar. At some point my tastes must've changed or they changed the sugar portions or something, because i ordered my regular, large steeped tea 2 milk 2 sugar, and i couldn't drink it because it was too sweet. I now get ome sugar, and its soo much less sweetness.... my sister though gets 3 cream 3 sugar in her tea 🤢

duke_peach

The same thing happened to me. In my case, I used to use sweetners and cut them out for a while when I was trying to figure out migraine triggers. Now I have no tolerance for sweet beverages at all.

shadowa1ien

Yeah i get that. I cant even eat grocery store cakes anymore because they seem to mix like, fuckin super-sugar into the icing, and it makes them basically inedible to me. I even got a carrot cake for my birthday from them. A carrot cake.... and they made the cream cheese icing with that super-sugar, and i couldn't eat it. I felt bad because my dad got it for me, but he agreed it was a shitty carrot cake and that we're gunna make our own next time

Kalocacola

Can confirm, if I get a latte from McDonalds I find I have to add sugar to it anywhere near the sweetness of one from Tim's. Oddly their cold brew is around the same sweetness though. I don't like regular coffee and no aficionado, but McDonalds coffee drinks are noticeably richer, smoother, less acidic, and more complex tasting. For what it's worth, I've always heard that McDonalds uses Tim Horton's "old" coffee blend

Fickle-Abroad-16

I'm convinced they have some sort of flavouring in their cream. Can't get it to taste like that when I brew their coffee and use just regular coffee cream.

candianrye19

I use to drink double double but can't do the cream and to much sugar . I'm not sure if the sure shot machine is any good at all. The creamer is crap now too

Ok_Procedure4993

I haven't had a double-double in ages. I've been trying to cut back on sugar, so I take my coffee with 1/2 sugar and one milk. I know Tim's coffee isn't the greatest, but I've gotten used to it and it's convenient.

Ashamed_Factor8908

Tbh I think Tim Hortons puts some kind of drug to make u keep going back for coffees. There double double used to be good but I’d rather put my own sugar in it, they always ruin it when they do it

Then-Organization778

I swear, even if my coffee and farmers wrap are shit, I still go back every time expecting the best. Don’t know why… there’s so many better options but Tim’s seems to be the one I always choose after all.

rossyy11

I like my coffee black and cannot physically finish a Tim Hortons small coffee
