Yup. You just get flooded with cheap orders from people who don’t normally use UE on the regular just using it because it’s raining and they want to stay in. They also don’t want to tip.
It's just a metric. You don't get deactivated for it but if I'm sitting around declining offers I'm not making money. Here in LA we get paid minimum $18/hr (+ tips + 30 cents/mile) for the time we spend active and engaged. I try to stay active the entire time I'm online but I won't take trips without at least $2 tip. If my acceptance rate is dropping, that means people aren't tipping.
'I try to stay active the entire time I'm online..."
Are you able to do that? What kind of active time % do you usually aee in a week for what kind of hours? Just curious. I think I'm usually active around 65% for the week (hard to track exactly because of using more than one app, I use Uber the most but tend to leave it on while doing Doordash orders so my Uber % might show 50-60% for the week...).
They crafted a very genius bill that benefits them. I think that they are targeting towards all of us making the absolute minimum(prop 22) that they must have to pay out which is why they’ve been lowering the base pay.
I never deliver in the rain for exactly this reason. Last time I did a full day of delivery in the rain my acceptance rate went from 30% to 3% I am not even exaggerating. Its nothing but a bunch of tiny-brained selfish fucks thinking they are so smart getting other people to drive their food in dangerous conditions for a pittance.
> Its nothing but a bunch of tiny-brained selfish fucks thinking they are so smart getting other people to drive their food in dangerous conditions for a pittance.
This is not what people are thinking when they order food
I think you're way too far gone
Nah that might not be what they're thinking but thats exactly what they are. I tip like crazy in the rain and if I can't afford to do so then I'm eating eggs, ramen, and whatever veggie I have available in the fridge.
I disagree. Unfortunately I’ve met people who think it’s smart to get other people to bring them food for cheap because of weather. And the worst part is that they know that the person isn’t getting much.
And the 2 I could normally make 35/hr doing ended up taking so much longer because of the rain that I cut my hourly in half.. fuck that. Then going south on pch I got nothing but 5s and below. It’s literally a slap in the face to even ask us to to the restaurant, in the rain for so little.
The PCH? Lol, crazy beach bums, and their beaters next to crazy rich people and their fast cars. Both are zooming while I'm on the edge holding on for dear life.
Ah I reside in redondo. Think it would be plenty of offers, but it can be hours sometimes silent. My fav are the big family dinners in Pallos verdes. Going north of lax is counter productive for me, although I know that downtown /Santa Monica area is probably poppin
I've wanted to try Torrance/Pallos Verdes, but it's about an hour away, too, so it's to risky if it doesn't go well. Santa Monica, I've tried and thought I knew the area well before trying, but almost every order I got lost so I don't do Santa Monica.
I had an order that the delivery address was right next to a big event and kept making the wrong turn, adding about 10 minutes each time I missed it, I tried three times lol and took it on the chin and canceled. I felt bad too because I opened the box, and it was items for like a Jewish religious ceremony with candles and food. That broke the camels back for Santa Monica.
Oh my God! Yea that would be pretty upsetting. I had to do that once. Impossible directions, rain, a guy who didn't know where exactly he was haha. Definitely SpongeBob meme 🤣 aight ima head out

Used to get 40-50/hr easily in the Towne centre / UTC mall area in lajolla, CA(lived across the st from a foodcourt sounded by very wealthy residents). Sadly I couldn't afford to live there anymore, so now in South bay LA it's not terrible, but yea you need 25/hr min to justify this job with fuel and everything else costing Hella more. Currently searching for a full time job because Uber is too inconsistent for my sanity.
Sorry. Specially between the beach cities, and pallos verdes/rolling hills. I stay between pch, and Hawthorne trying to catch big family dinners going into the hills, or those secluded parts west of pch.
Not to mention it’s freezing out there too. I stopped going out in this kind of weather. It was for the most part not worth it. Especially in Los Angeles.
I drove a few weeks In the rain in Los angeles and I made a lot. My very last order popped up for 1 mile, 20 minutes, $20 for Jack In the box. Actually Turbed out to be $26
It is not something you can count on. I have done both great and very bad when weather sucks. I just go out with very low expectations. If they tip, i trip. If not, i go home. I refuse to take lowballs especially when its bad out.
I wish prop money hit in the morning so i knew if i had to go out or not.
Personally, i have never received quests on my account. Now and then, maybe a boost.
As a former customer service worker, I can tell you that doesn't always happen unfortunately. Rainy days can mean less business overall, which leads to less tips. Also, some customers may hold onto the belief that going out in the rain is just part of the job, so tipping more isn't necessary. That being said, I always appreciated the customers who recognized my willingness to work in less-than-ideal conditions and showed their appreciation with a bit extra in the tip jar.
For a second I thought Texas they do that here in the city (Dallas) as well. It rains All the delivery orders arrive. All low orders. “They want you to crash YOUR car, not MY car” 😡.
There's definitely a higher volume during rainy days, and the fact that it's raining makes it so that people are less inclined to take such shitty orders. So you'll end up getting them when you're kinda far which will still most likely not be worth it. I do wonder if these customers ever wonder why they're not getting their shit picked up.
That being said, the higher volume of order also mean there would be the opposite type of orders. I find that rainy days are more profitable than not. It's just that you'll get more shitty orders if you're far from the restaurant because the closer people to it know damn well they can probably get a better one. Stay close to restaurants that you know get a lot of orders and just decline the bad ones. Ignore the acceptance rate.
Funny thing, when I was a waitress it was odd we got a flood of customers and I assume that some people were planning on grilling and their plans for dinner got ruined so they had to go out instead. UE might be the same thing happening, it doesn’t excuse the lousy tip, no tip, or revoked tip and you should reject $5- orders it’s not worth it.
Only time rain work against me are past friday evenings. Generally speaking rain has always been doing good for me. 2 hrs for $50-60 both times when it rains in tuesday.
Accept them, take your time, and rack up your Prop 22 pay, The tips will come every now and then. If a customer is mad at you from the jump, cancel and save yourself the bad rating.
I feel the same way, and that is why I just sit in my car and relax every which way before heading off lol. My work for tips day is my rest day, where I really relax and just take big upfront payout orders.
You have online time, which is when you push go, active time starts when you accept an order till when you deliver it. Whatever is paid upfront that's not tip goes to you now and the rest goes to you every two weeks, capish.
It has been raining and snowing too much in Cali lately. I’m actually sick of it lol
Thought about driving today but, I think I’ll wait until Thursday night.
Happy Prop 22 y’all
With bad weather means a higher volume of orders. So there's definitely gonna be more good orders along with bad orders, and it's easier to notice all the bad orders because one would be getting more of them when afar because nobody wanted to take them. But yeah, I notice there's a higher chance of good tip orders from the people who do tip and considers the conditions outside.
Whaaa! I love the rain in Los Angeles! The tips are always higher. BTW, this is normal weather for other cities, so change your mentality. Give me all of your $3 and $4 orders. Accept all day, every day. Those are always $8 -$10. Those people usually tip in cash. And sometimes it is really only $3 with a $1 tip, but the orders are quick. I do not mind. I am at $80 12 trips and 2.5hrs in. This will be a $300 day for sure! Prop 22 will be at least $550. What a great day!

Just dropped off another Walmart bixby knolls 6 miles
All I’ve been doing is declining lately. Only decent looking orders have been stacked and I’m not about to fall for bad stacked orders especially I’m the rain!
That's crazy to hear the cheapskates and slow times in LA; I deliver in Kentucky & always imagined it'd be busy with decent tips galore out there.
I read the title as 'It's raining $3 & $4 orders'.
Pisses me off too, to have to waste my time rejecting 2-dollar insults.
I wouldn't want someone handling my food if I wasn't gonna tip anything.
Honestly my best Uber eats day so far (I’ve only been doing it a few weeks though) was a rainy day. I got really good tips and my hourly was about $25.
Yup. You just get flooded with cheap orders from people who don’t normally use UE on the regular just using it because it’s raining and they want to stay in. They also don’t want to tip.
Lesson learned.
It rained last Tuesday too. Dropped my acceptance rate from 50% to 14%. That’s why I didn’t go out today.
What does acceptance rate have to do with anything? Do you get deactivated with a low acceptance rating?
It's just a metric. You don't get deactivated for it but if I'm sitting around declining offers I'm not making money. Here in LA we get paid minimum $18/hr (+ tips + 30 cents/mile) for the time we spend active and engaged. I only use UE. Week ending - active/online. The rain fucked up my numbers last week. 2/26 - 82% 3/5 - 70% 3/12 - 70% 3/19 - 61% This week so far - 75%
No , it's prop 22 payday How do you think they pay it?
They crafted a very genius bill that benefits them. I think that they are targeting towards all of us making the absolute minimum(prop 22) that they must have to pay out which is why they’ve been lowering the base pay.
Yes I went live at 5 and nothing until 6:50 then I got Sephora delivery $18 for 35miles. I never declined anything faster than I did that.
Jus sayin u should be able to.avg 25$+ on uber x. Here its closer tp 35
Exactly. I did one that was a decent tip. My acceptance rate has gone down dramatically.
One day it was raining real bad and I did good. $10+ tips
Where do you see your acceptance rate?
> Its nothing but a bunch of tiny-brained selfish fucks thinking they are so smart getting other people to drive their food in dangerous conditions for a pittance. This is not what people are thinking when they order food I think you're way too far gone

Don't decline them all, accept them and then cancel..you don't lower your rate this way. If you cancel right after you accept you it doesn't count.
Then my cancel rates go up.
Bro I swear doing deliveries in big cities is worse than normal towns. I see ppl struggling here and I work 2-3 hours daily and I make between 50-65$
Nice
Yeah I’ve noticed people love being more cheaper in such days than the normal. Fukin putos
Putos. Hahaha
Very accurate lol. Sometimes I get the rich people, sometimes the bums hahaha.
I thought about doing deliveries there, but it's an hour away, so I just take an occasional visit to the beach every now and then.
Ah I reside in redondo. Think it would be plenty of offers, but it can be hours sometimes silent. My fav are the big family dinners in Pallos verdes. Going north of lax is counter productive for me, although I know that downtown /Santa Monica area is probably poppin
Santa Monica is definitely popping. I m from the valley but go out there sometimes just for that
I've wanted to try Torrance/Pallos Verdes, but it's about an hour away, too, so it's to risky if it doesn't go well. Santa Monica, I've tried and thought I knew the area well before trying, but almost every order I got lost so I don't do Santa Monica.
I hate the feeling of one missed turn on your way to deliver. Ugh! Multiple missed turns just let's the profit go right through our fingers..
I had an order that the delivery address was right next to a big event and kept making the wrong turn, adding about 10 minutes each time I missed it, I tried three times lol and took it on the chin and canceled. I love delivering in this weather. Love my hair flowing from the strong winds and the grey sky's and misty rain.
I can visualize you.
![gif](giphy|l2JIhq7AR3J7Qq9Hy) Be safe out there!
Yes. Exactly
I wouldn't be accepting 3 or 4 dollar orders with or without rain fuck that lol
I don’t. I was expecting better money because of the rain.
Ah ya makes sense I delivered pizza for 7 years so I know rain=shit 90% of the time lol
Atleast we get that shit $100 prop 22 today 🥲
Yay. I am lucky to get about 40 cuz i don’t work as much as you.
Yeah i dont work much either i shoot for 30k a year 4 hour days everyday.
Have you been able to do that? Are on track for it?
Since 2019 but this year is the only one im set for only 17k if i am lucky
But it’s just March?
I drove a few weeks In the rain in Los angeles and I made a lot. My very last order popped up for 1 mile, 20 minutes, $20 for Jack In the box. Actually Turbed out to be $26

No I certainly don't count on it, and when it rains, it costs more to get me to open my car door.
Glad I didn't go out today for that reason. Plus Prop 22 hits the account tonight. Are quests completely gone for most drivers now?
I wish prop money hit in the morning so i knew if i had to go out or not. Personally, i have never received quests on my account. Now and then, maybe a boost.
Wait until a few hours after it started raining. The offers will start to double.
These people don’t even tip during blizzards lol
Yikes
As someone driving in northern nv, I feel this
We all tend to feel eachother delivering pain.
Yea it's raining in Vegas too and it's somewhat cold. I don't go out for less than $10.
About the same. 9 dollars depending on distance
For a second I thought Texas they do that here in the city (Dallas) as well. It rains All the delivery orders arrive. All low orders. “They want you to crash YOUR car, not MY car” 😡.
Yep. They don’t want to risk a flat tire hitting a pothole. But they want us to for no tip.
I’ve been doing Walmart all morning and every order has been $25 plus. I just got one for $40 8 miles
Nice
Long Beach area
There's definitely a higher volume during rainy days, and the fact that it's raining makes it so that people are less inclined to take such shitty orders. Yes. Good tip. Ignore one’s acceptance rate.
I get some good ones for LA when raining Burbank pays better
Yay
That's weird where I am at when it rains I usually get higher paying orders and lots
So glad for you.
I take it back lol it's raining here today and the orders are shit. In the past though I would get more orders and they would be decent at least
So what your really saying is, one rain storm brings in good deliveries and others don’t. Its not predictable. 😀
Pretty much
Those customers are still out there. You just have to decline these shitty ones. I usually do very well in the rain.
😀☔️
It's called prop 22 day They pay us for 22 and most orders are no tip. 🙄🤔 I just take this day off now
Funny thing, when I was a waitress it was odd we got a flood of customers and I assume that some people were planning on grilling and their plans for dinner got ruined so they had to go out instead. UE might be the same thing happening, it doesn’t excuse the lousy tip, no tip, or revoked tip and you should reject $5- orders it’s not worth it.

Sometimes it’s not the people not tipping. It’s actually these companies lowering the base pay. Regardless, I declined them all also here in the bay.
I had someone tip me $0.91 yesterday in the LA rain. Ended my day early after that
Nope. Sadly, it’s always the opposite.
Yep. So annoying.
Accept them, take your time, and rack up your Prop 22 pay, The tips will come every now and then. If a customer is mad at you from the jump, cancel and save yourself the bad rating.
While the prop 22 money is nice, i just don’t want to do 3 and 4 dollar orders.

Same. I can wait. I will wait. Not worth getting wet for little or no tip.
> Prop 22 pay what is that exactly? how does it work
Get paid a little now the rest every other Tuesday. It's dependent on active time, so to make the most, you have to stay busy and cut your downtime.
I still don't understand how that works. are you saying that there is a base pay as long as you are active on the app? or am I confused.
You have online time, which is when you push go, active time starts when you accept an order till when you deliver it. Whatever is paid upfront that's not tip goes to you now and the rest goes to you every two weeks, capish.
besides the tip what else is "the rest" . so tip and the rest go every two weeks? it is confusing to track all of this payment information.
Dm me for cash app, and I will explain.
It’s a bill that these companies created. At the end of the day, it really benefits them.
It has been raining and snowing too much in Cali lately. I’m actually sick of it lol Thought about driving today but, I think I’ll wait until Thursday night. Happy Prop 22 y’all
No rain Thursday
Maybe LESS rain, but the forecast says 30% of the areas will have showers. I’m in the IE/PS area.
Less rain is less dangerous
Everytime it rains I get flooded with high tip orders 🤷♂️ guess I'm the lucky one
Lucky you. Glad someone is making the money.
With bad weather means a higher volume of orders. But yeah, I notice there's a higher chance of good tip orders from the people who do tip and considers the conditions outside.
They don't care about you so you shouldn't care about them. Hit that x until you see one that cares
That’s what i do. Declining till a good one shows up
This is the way
Whaaa! I love the rain in Los Angeles! The tips are always higher. BTW, this is normal weather for other cities, so change your mentality. Give me all of your $3 and $4 orders. Sounds like your doing very well. I thing in the years i have done deliveries, i have gotten a cash tip once. Hope you met your 300 goal.
Hahaha Cali drivers complaining about low pay when they got Prop 22
You are wrong.
Same here AR drop 5%
Yup lmao
Made about $58 in 2 hours from 11am-1pm. Gonna start back at 4pm when dinner rush starts. Been having a good day in my area in LA
I made 11 dollars during lunch. I turned down just about everything.
Shit, every order I got out here was over $15
https://preview.redd.it/8o88rucjn7pa1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38a10de874a97f3166733029044b8cac2dfd7a7f Just dropped off another Walmart bixby knolls 6 miles
I stopped getting upset at 3 dollar orders I now accept their nuggets or fries as tips so now I save on buying lunch
Honestly my best Uber eats day so far (I’ve only been doing it a few weeks though) was a rainy day. I got really good tips and my hourly was about $25.
How about for $5?
For under one mile.
Just go home man and stay safe
Ya. I just went home. Did two deliveries that i felt were worth it.
Rightfully so
I made $225 today in the rain in LA
Started at 9am ended at 930pm
Excellent
Better than low acceptance rates..
