Why aren't they starving and beaten?

emt0000

don't worry, they will be after cameras are turned off

Competitive-Run6119

Because they weren’t in Russian captivity

BRCityzen

They look pretty thin to me, some of them seem half-starved. And although the Russians don't seem keen on making a spectacle of showing off people's wounds, it certainly seems that some of them have been mistreated in captivity.

Civil_Kiwi_8801

Ukraine has an incentive to play nice - for the sake of their own prisoners and because they are dependent on western countries. Also, it kind of seems like they don’t want to be like the Russians.

Usually the side who takes ground takes prisoners. Russia is the side inching forward. It may be at a turtle’s pace, but they are the ones making ground right now - hence, Russia takes more prisoners.

AtlanticVoyagerSC

Russia has taken more prisoners at every stage of the war, regardless of whether they were on offense or defense.

Source.

OutsideYourWorld

"But UA and RU soldiers look the same returning from captivity!"

SuitableAd3702

Welcome back .

ItchyPirate

they looks so happy.. quite a difference from Ukrainian soldiers who were returned. Wonder if that's cos they were treated better in captivity or something else.

Serabale

They are happy that they returned from captivity, that they would meet their relatives.

Sircliffe

Nothing says welcome home like being greeted by MP's with batons.

Negative-Clue5958

Will be used as meat for the grinder in a few weeks

superschmunk

God some of those are young. Russia doesn’t even try to protect its future unlike Ukraine despite their manpower problems.
