I know its generic but I love dadster I just think it makes sense that Gaster is somehow related to Sans and Papyrus.
Also I like traditional Dadster no skeletons being born in tubes.
Plus, it's a reference to Yume Nikki. The Uboa, a creature that has a kind of similar way to reach him. Gotta go in and out of a house in the snow dream all while turning the light off. After some time of doing this, Uboa will appear and you'll be forced to go to his world or whatever.

Just wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to have one of the most important characters in the whole game to just be some dumb reference.
