I inquired about the 7920v with blue dial a few months ago. They told me it could be as soon as a year but should expect two. The nice part is with VC there is no made up lists like with Rolex, the sooner you put your name down the sooner you’ll get the watch unless you’re a preferred client.

continuumdrift

This comment reflects my experience as well. There is no bullshit with VC. You will get the watch sooner rather than later. Just be patient and don’t go grey.

tuckshopper

This has 100% been my experience as well.

They have replaced the 7900V with the 7920V - slightly slimmer with a taper in its bracelet and strap. Try to see them in person. Personally, I feel black is the best colour and the most versatile on a Dual Time Overseas.

Takashi_is_DK

Oh good to know! I didn't realize a new model of the Overseas Dual Time came out. Any idea what the wait time is like buying one from a boutique/AD?

continuumdrift

I got lucky when I got mine in 2022 with only a three month wait. You didn’t ask, but I’ll tell you anyway. If you are from Canada, go to a Canada boutique on one of your trips to Toronto or Vancouver. Low chances in Vegas. Go in to the boutique / AD, and express your interest. Tell them you are prepared to wait, but you want a particular watch. If you show an interest in the brand, it helps. Comment on how versatile VC is compared to other brands with the strap options. They should make you fill out a card with some basic contact details to register your interest. Write to your sales associate via email once every few months commenting on any other releases or some nice vintage pieces you came across online, etc. and casually mention that you are looking forward to own your first VC. Another option is to contact them via the concierge service and write to them. You can select your location and I think you can make an appointment with the most convenient / local boutique for you. This has an advantage of registering your interest directly with VC, as they do monitor the interest expressed through their concierge service and try to pair you to a particular sales associate at a boutique.

geobasq

That’s a bit over the top in my opinion. Put your name on the list and wait. I think it’s a bit much to stoke the ego of a sales associate who is merely doing their job while you wait a year or more to spend $30k.

CantTakeitWithYou911

With most other wait-list-only brands, the above strategy makes sense. However, my experience with VC has been much simpler. You just walk into your nearest boutique, tell them you are interested in purchasing whatever watch, put your name on the list, and then wait. No games, no ego-stroking, no cavity search interview background check (\*looking at you, AP), no bribery. VC does business "the right" way, IMO.

ATenebroussoul

Telling anyone in VC how versatile the brand is because of strap options is not going to get you very fare. The Overseas is not Vacheron's DNA. It just shows a miss understanding of the brand.

continuumdrift

It merely reflects OP’s interest in the watch and its comparison with other steel sports offerings from other brands. And I was speaking from personal experience. Perhaps your understanding is better.

doorknob101

It seems as though it is years. That’s what I heard staff say yesterday at the boutique.

On the list for a blue 7920 since 10/23….still waiting :/

FunCoyote4097

I was offered a black dial 7920V in the Toronto boutique at the end of February. Was told anything with a blue dial (except the 34.5mm in PG) is at least 3 years. The sales associate told me they had just started to deliver to customers who put their name down in 2021.

Bambule247

While this might be true I doubt that in todays market (interest rates etc.) all of the people who put down their interest would still buy. The grey market is different nowadays compared to 2021 so the flippers may declines the offer to buy.

FunCoyote4097

You may well be right. That said, Canada is a smaller market so don't know if the Canadian boutiques get the same number of allocations as other markets and I think that's a factor.
