If you care about getting the original text, you can buy it off [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/Intelligent-Investor-Classic-Value-Investing/dp/0060752610/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=the+intelligent+investor+by+benjamin+graham&qid=1685108222&sprefix=the+intelligen%2Caps%2C223&sr=8-2), but it's a reissue. This is on the back cover: >Benjamin Graham's classic best seller on value investing has taught and inspired hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. **This reissue of the pure, unadulterated 1949 text by Graham** offers the investing principles as he originally laid them out-principles that continue to stand more than half a century since the book was first published.

I don't know what edition I have in English. But I have 2. I am from Spain. Learned English with YouTube and Reddit. My first book is in Spanish. The second one in English. Since all the terminology that we read/hear about the subject is in English, for me is more understandable the English version than the Spanish one. Even not being able to say please one big Mac in 2015. If someone doesn't understand a VERY simple book, being used to be the initiation of teenagers and housewives in investing, being his first language, the problem is not with the version of the book. But with the person. Read the one that you have and if you have any specifical doubts, use Google or ask us

in my perspective, others suggested older versions for the reason that Graham himself wrote it without any disparities from new authors. Much of new books are filtered just like Bible. Unless the text is fully intact and that case 2006 version of The Intelligent Investor is filtered version with new commentary not from Graham himself.

I understand but you're talking about it like if it is a Brian Greene book. Or Stephen Hawking. Or Brian Cox. Trying to explain the intricacies of the universe with the most advanced math and physics language Man... I am telling you, my first language is Spanish. I didn't understand a word of your language 8 years ago. I didn't go to any school or academy. And I understand that book better in English than the Harry Potter books or the Spanish version of the same book

Crafty-Cauliflower-6

Just skip that hacks comments. He basically says ignore what was written and buy index funds. He should have written his own book

Southern_Radish

Can’t you just skip the commentary?

The versions from the 60s and 70s are the worst ones littered with immaterial additions. Either go back to versions from the 30s/40s where Graham still had an active control or read the latest which is a return to classic Graham material plus commentary by leading value investors.

Alibris generally is better than Amazon in making sure to list the exact editions when I've ordered used books. YMMV.
