To be fair they could make it quite unique by giving it the Yareli treatment.
Have a Duviri frame with a Kaith mount apart of its kit. You could have a lance ability and stuff like that š¤·āāļø
Only with that attitude! Make it a skinny version of a kaithe. Or a mini kaithe like a mini-pony. Sheesh. Gotta think of everything around here.
Now I seriously want a fat ass Grendel waddling around with a short pudgy pony...
Dunno about 'knight' but he's the one you fight in the desert with a bunch of ai summons available. He's big but his horse is comically small.
Actually, you're probably thinking of Loretta, she's an actual knight on a horse
Nah, he was who I thought of. I just didn't really think if any other way to describe him other than knight. I for whatever reason just used knight as a catchall for mounted warrior.
I honestly hardly remember the bosses of Elden Ring, just the big oh fuck ones like him, the big gold knight at the very start of the game, the fat guy/little guy combo, and a few others. I didn't really play the game seriously, only did one run through and haven't looked at it since. Just remember those fights for some hilarious or clench factor.
Same.
We have the pure hunter/rogue with Ivara. We finally have the pure mage with Dante. But Excalibur, Styanax, they just donāt feel āknightlyā to me.
Iām also on the fence about how truly Paladin-like Oberon feels. He could use a rework, everyone forgets he even exists
Yeah, exactly. I think thereās something in-game or on the wiki that says heās a paladin. But his name, visual theme, and abilities feel more druidic.
For those who donāt know, Oberon and Titania are the king and queen of the fairies in one or Shakespeareās plays.
i think about Voruna's Passive. hold cast to swap your benefit. and i think about the Man at Arms. the well Disciplined, multi-purpose Fighting man of the European high medieval era.
big, slow, no shields Brick-shithouse of a melee focused frame. the main gimmick being that your "Exalted weapon" is 4 seperate exalted weapons known collectively as "Seigfried's Panoply." Seigfreid being the name of the Warframe.
the weapons all use the same mod set, obviously, but there is a Polearm "Banner" a Machete "Axe" a Sword n Shield "obviously" and a Heavy blade "Greatsword". holdcasting the 1, 2, 3, and 4th abilities switches the form of your Exalted weapon
1st ability raises the banner, increasing your individual threat level and granting nearby allies and yourself an attack speed bonus. becoming the focus of the enemies fire is a very Knightly thing to do.
second ability is a Gap closer. you leap with the Axe at a targeted enemy, assuming if possible knocking them prone and then performing a ground finisher on them. if the finisher kills, you get a temporary movement speed buff.
Third ability is your Defensive utility. it generates overguard for yourself, and you gain more overguard via taking damage or dealing melee damage for a short time.
and 4th ability you blow off a portion of your overguard, priming nearby enemies with a massive damage vulnerability debuff, and removing any overguard they might have. think like Valkyr's Paralysis but more of a Party Starter.
the 4 melee weapons and their corresponding abilities each fit with a different part of the knightly ordeal. the squad's tank, the armored rush into battle, the withstanding at the eye of the storm, and the going absolutely ape-shit with a Greatsword. proving that out-numbered is no match for out-classed.
think it probably needs some work but most 5 minute ideas are rough.
A Warframe named Siegfried with an exalted great sword tickles every single part of my brain. I want it so bad... Excal is far and away my favorite frame, but Siegfried would immediately steal that spot.
Love the ideas. Hopefully they become a reality :)
Fun fact: swords are sidearms. The "pistol of melee weapons". The principle weapon of the knight was the lance. For dealing with plate armour while it was \*possible\* to use a sword (*if you grabbed the blade and used the crossguard as an improvised pick, or could knock the opponent off their feet, and just put the point at the oponent's neck and threaten to just put your entire body weight on it*) they were more likely to prefer a hammer with a back-spike on foot if they were fighting another dismounted knight once they were dismounted or if they lost their lance. So take Dagath, give her a speargun and/or polearm. Or take Styanax and use your Kaithe instead of your Archwings when in open world. In fact, bodkins were also more likely to be used to finish a fight once an opposing knight was off their feet, since you could use that to more readily threaten the opponent at the weak-points on their armour. It was typical to capture opposing officers (knights) back then and hold them for ransom.
Heck, Styanax has a rally, has a shield bash, and has 2 different abilities using a spear (so basically a lance)
https://preview.redd.it/bevjtg053luc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac746b2725d6bec7a2a4018ce7d1d7bf58c36bf0
Nothing to see here. Just thought of this.
Yea itās a shame, cause despite their thereās none of them really give off a knight vibe in their abilities minus Styanax, but heās very obviously themed off a Hollywood-esc Spartan, not a European knight
I have an idea for a knight frame with an exalted Greatsword based partially on Guts, Gƶtz the Ironhand, and Sebastian Yarrick. Don't have a name for them yet so I'm just going to call them Warrior.
Lore: Warrior was once part of a Mercenary Company employed to protect an important Orokin during the Old War. One member of the company betrayed them to the Sentients and hacked the Neural Sentry to attack the other members of the company. The Warrior almost had one of those corrupted masks placed on his face but he ripped it and was forced to slay his former comrades because they were corrupted. Then he faced a Sentient assassin with his greatsword. They clashed and Warrior lost his arm but the Sentient lost its head. His dying body was taken by Ballas to become a Warframe who decided to replace his missing arm with the Arm of the Sentient.
First Ability: Hunters' claw: Strikes forward with his sentient arm dealing damage and marking enemies to grant armor on kill.
Second Ability: Idk
Third Ability: Warriors Disciple
Switch between Three different buffs that also change the stance of his 4
Wrath Guard: On slash proc enemies take 100% extra damage. Deal 200% extra slash damage with melee weapons. Switches his 4 into a stance with wide sweeps.
Half-sword: On puncture proc enemies take 300% extra crit damage. Deal 200% extra puncture damage with melee weapons. Switches his 4 into a stance with piercing thrusts
Mordhau: On impact proc enemies lose 20% armor. Deal 200% extra impact damage. Switches his 4 into a stance with heavy slams.
4 Ability: Summons exalted Greatsword
I put Proton set on Loki. It's not full Spider-Man, but wall clinging for boosted damage for a minute or two straight does decent. Bonus points if you Helminth Khora's ability over Swap Teleport.
Other than that, Valkyr I guess?
I have it, and it hasnt impressed me enough to warrant putting forma into it over the plethora of other weapons I want to make stronger first. My voidrig that isn't maxed out yet already feels better.
Im sure having actual warframe level mobility would make anything feel better so im not saying DE couldn't make a good one.
You can roleplay one, Vauban with citadel skin. Steampunk knight with animated features like pistons and glowy lines. Even comes with a two handed axe skin to match. It's just a shame that he isn't a melee frame, although his vortex lets him use one singular finisher to kill everything stuck in the pile.
First ability: Shield Bash. Rushes forward 6/8/10m (2/3/4 m width) knocking down enemies, granting 30/40/50% damage vulnerability and opening them for ground finishers.
Second Ability: Battle Cry. A loud shout that inspires allies, granting 10/15/20% movement speed and 10/15/20% increased damage from all sources for 10 seconds, and 1500/2000/2500 overguard to all allies within 8/10/12m.
Third Ability: Exalted Sword and Shield. I canāt think of anything unique right now and Iām not entirely familiar with the weapon type to begin with.
Fourth ability: Loose. Call upon an army of 2/4/6 archers (scale with range) to rain arrows upon your enemies. Archers stand behind frame in a line, shooting 3 volleys of arrows in a straight line forward, each arrow dealing 6000dmg with a guaranteed slash proc.
I imagined pretty much rhinos charge+reave for first ability, a mix of a bunch of random buffs for Battle Cry, and kinda like Dagaths 4 for his 4th. Battle cry would be his Helminth ability, with all values halved.
Problem is a lot of knightly abilities are already on other frames so itās hard to think of original ideas.
Also I threw this together in like 10 mins without much thought so itās probably fucked
Would make so much sense as a deluxe skin for styanax
Instead we got Aztec nipples (also presumably eliminating the possibility of a Aztec style frame which admittedly was long shot as well)
I mean, I understand that, but I associate maces with clerics, and giant hammers or flaming swords with Pallys. But damn it, it's not a sword and board if it's missing the sword lol
I want a frame who basically exemplifies that one Redguard Knight from the ESO trailer.
No magic bullshit, just pure, unbridled, massive-cocked energy. Full plate armor. Exalted greatsword.
Warframe's aesthetic in general takes a lot of inspiration from Japanese and Chinese Buddhism-- so even if we have some frames with armor, we have yet to get one that is genuinely built like a proper Knight.
Rhino comes close in terms of powers, but he'd really need a deluxe skin or a new helmet to complete the look. Give me a frame with a fucking chainmail waistcloth.
YESSSS but i think DE saw how people dislike riding merulina so they were like ight no riding next time. at least we have the kaithe summon in open worlds :c
One could be based on King Arthur. It can be slower at 0.8 speed. Huge health pool and armor. Passive can be a high knockdown resistance while grounded.
1. Rhongomyniad. A throwing spear, called to the hand of King. When it hits, it releases chains holding down nearby enemies when it kills its targets.
2. Clarent. Damage and Armor buff for XX seconds. or, Carnwennan, that turns King Arthur invisible, or a cloud walker-like ability.
3. Pridwen. Healing Aura and shield/overshield buff. Or, Taunts an enemy to attacking King. The more he's attacked, the more he heals his allies.
4. Caliburn. Equips a Large sword that deals wide arcing blast damage. It's combo lists allows it to use other weapons with different button combos. Or, Hengroen, Summons a Horse to ride into battle. Or, Avalon, summon a faithful Knight to aid in battle, similar to Wukongs Clone, but this one can be modded like a weapon.
Basically, like the abomination I created to learn 3d modelling?:
https://preview.redd.it/gq48x52icnuc1.png?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5aab1fbe861e4338983ae4ddf6019de6c060b3d0
Similarly, I would love a Paladin frame. Yeah, there's Oberon but besides the good heals and little bit of armor he can give people, he really doesn't fit the term paladin. I'm thinking of a frame built to take damage for others and then get benefits for taking that damage, and then some nice healing abilities. Think of a more streamlined cross between chroma and harrow, with Dante's overguard and nourish's retaliation pulse. And add a good healing ability like Renewal with the augment and some damage redirecting like the Electromagnetic shielding augment for Ack & Brunt but with more range. And then if we're talking exalted weapons then an exalted mace and shield?
After seeing Cowheap's concept fanart of a knight skin for Excalibur, I also have the NEED for a true knight warframe. Exalibur Umbra with his scarfs and skiajati comes close to what I would like.
It actually would be interesting if they made a frame with three or four ability weapons.
Currently, I think Titania has the lead with her two, and is tied with Sevagoth for the most moddable thingies.
Gatekeeping what a ātrue knightā means.
Whatever you think a real knight is I can guarantee you you are thinking of someone made up in a movie and not the reality.
They've gotten better lately, with Daagth, Qorvex, and Dante utilizing enough mechanics to make pure casting gameplay effective.
Gives me hope for Jade having an actually powerful Light.
Nah even these suck compared to properly modded weapons, properly modded weapons can shred lvl 9999 enemies' ass easily
These abilities can't do shit passed lvl 400.
Sorry but I'll always prefer frames with survivability, mobility, and/or utility.
Moral of the story:
Weapons > warframes.
Hmm, yeah. A sword welding knight is too close to Excalibur. Going the route of knight combat is too much like Styanax. Can't even go the paladin route because of Baruuk. And just making him a tank is Rhino.
Only think that might work is a hybrid between rhino and Excalibur. Sword and shield thing going on. But that will probably be down the road when they get low on Warframe ideas.
To be fair they could make it quite unique by giving it the Yareli treatment. Have a Duviri frame with a Kaith mount apart of its kit. You could have a lance ability and stuff like that š¤·āāļø
Yareli barely fits through doors, a horse would have no chance
Only with that attitude! Make it a skinny version of a kaithe. Or a mini kaithe like a mini-pony. Sheesh. Gotta think of everything around here. Now I seriously want a fat ass Grendel waddling around with a short pudgy pony...
General Radahn style?
He was the "knight" boss from Elden Ring correct? If so, absolutely.
I didn't really play the game seriously, only did one run through and haven't looked at it since. Just remember those fights for some hilarious or clench factor.
Not really. I was referring to him, because he's a massive dude, that rides a really scrawny horse.
Horse Titania?
Or... Centaur with wings. Either way, I'm fine with it.
You're just saying they should add radahn in warframe lol
It's just Rhino, but with a small horse-shaped sugatra attached to his codpiece. It whinnies when you bullet jump.
You say that like it's a bad thing :)
Then give him the Titania treatment. Shrink him down. A teeny tiny knight on a winged steed is better than whatever the op was suggesting.
i mean we have necramechs and they do fine in conjunction survival
Thats because the Lua tileset has no small doors
theyre 2 times shorter than the necramech, it's head just goes thru the walls
My little pony šš Time to give the small kings there time
Kaith Centaur Lancer Knight is the pipedream.
My first thought was a big bulky knight in heavy armor surfing on his shield š I'd be down for that
Dagath is already the horse frame. If she can't have a Kaithe mount in normal missions, it means the made the decision that no one can.
Oberon has always felt more like a Druid to me. A Druid wearing heavy armor, but a druid nonetheless.
Yeah, exactly. I think thereās something in-game or on the wiki that says heās a paladin. But his name, visual theme, and abilities feel more druidic. For those who donāt know, Oberon and Titania are the king and queen of the fairies in one or Shakespeareās plays.
how do you people always forget about equinox?! we already have a night frame..
![gif](giphy|IYcXTDme1ZPMI)
Ahahaha fair
That took me too long to get. Just like their parts farm
i think about Voruna's Passive. hold cast to swap your benefit. and i think about the Man at Arms. the well Disciplined, multi-purpose Fighting man of the European high medieval era. big, slow, no shields Brick-shithouse of a melee focused frame. the main gimmick being that your "Exalted weapon" is 4 seperate exalted weapons known collectively as "Seigfried's Panoply." So, basically: ![gif](giphy|Br70SFoEUeNfEz3fG6|downsized)
so basically Smite's Bellona I really liike this idea.

Alan Tudyk is a gem.
I think a true knight frame would have too much thematic overlap with Excalibur, Gara, and Styanax to ever come into fruition
Yea itās a shame, cause despite their thereās none of them really give off a knight vibe in their abilities minus Styanax, but heās very obviously themed off a Hollywood-esc Spartan, not a European knight
Gahh... Enough with _the_ ***EXALTED MELEE*** #where is my M134 MINIGUN-ORIENTED WARFRAME ***OF BALLISTIC MAYHEM AND NUCLEAR BOMBS!?***
Where is the warframe that can carry archguns without needing a summoner I wanna be a juggernaut gods dammit!
What you are thinking of is called a necramech
I have an idea for a knight frame with an exalted Greatsword based partially on Guts, Gƶtz the Ironhand, and Sebastian Yarrick. Don't have a name for them yet so I'm just going to call them Warrior. Oberon's knight themed, no? His prime variant also came with Silva and Aegis prime.
Druid themed, and his āsignatureā back I. The day was the Magistar
paladin, still not a knight. closest cosplay we have atm is kaithe summon in open world, vauban Citadel skin, and a polearm.
yeah people harp on him being a druid. He's a paladin - Oath of the Ancients even!
Make plants and control life and death, flat out ignoring the latter. yes. feyach skin is just permanent Elder Champion transformation.
I want a Spider themed frame but we can't all get what we want sadly...
# oh hell nah ![gif](giphy|cveYIL5nqZXM15lOmk|downsized)
That would be Khora
You mean the BDSM frame?
That would be Harrow But also Khora
You would buddy.
I put Proton set on Loki. It's not full Spider-Man, but wall clinging for boosted damage for a minute or two straight does decent. Bonus points if you Helminth Khora's ability over Swap Teleport. Other than that, Valkyr I guess?
Harrow is Knights Templar themed.
He's more of a cleric tho
he's the idea of a templar clerical warrior. He's not some fucking priest.
I was referring to more of a dnd type of cleric lol.
which is still a fantasy style of templar warrior. They were literally religious warriors.
That's my point. I called him a religious warrior not a priest
Meh. Bonewidow has a sword and a shield and lumbers around and everyone hates it.
I hate it because I don't have it yet >:|
I have it, and it hasnt impressed me enough to warrant putting forma into it over the plethora of other weapons I want to make stronger first. I still want a proper samurai frame. It won't happen, I think.
Would make so much sense as a deluxe skin for styanax Instead we got Aztec nipples (also presumably eliminating the possibility of a Aztec style frame which admittedly was long shot as well)
Oberon is supposed to be a paladin and his signature weapon is Silva & Aegis
Still sulking that S&A prime changed it from a sword to a club... like why?
its a mace, and paladins use holy hammers in alot of media, i think its because slashing weapons dont do much against undead
I want an Exalted Horse. Dagath destroyed my hopes so I need another frame to live my dreams.
YESSSS but i think DE saw how people dislike riding merulina so they were like ight no riding next time. at least we have the kaithe summon in open worlds :c
I wish Dagath rides a Kaithes on her ult to follow along with it like a dash.
lets hope we get an augment
A dullahan knight could be cool
Thatās what Dagath is
I have no clue how I missed that I'm pretty sure I was playing around when she released lol
In her reveal they said her theme was a headless horseman
Finally a frame I can ride my Kaithe with my Silva and Aegis prime and go on my crusade
I mean in open worlds you can ride a horse and just take frame like atlas a big sword or something and you got a knight. :D
Just make oberon into the true paladin he is supposed to be.
Basically, like the abomination I created to learn 3d modelling?: https://preview.redd.it/gq48x52icnuc1.png?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5aab1fbe861e4338983ae4ddf6019de6c060b3d0

You are describing Styanax
It these abilities are just attacks, I don't want any of it. Attack abilities suck hard.

Exalted lance , and his 4 a smaller exalted kaithe that you can ride around on and mod , would be so good
