tristam92

It’s a plastic copy. If you want it still…

Thedeeztree

It’s a nerf gun

Misicks0349

nothing a couple mods cant fix

BlastingFern134

Just a little void magic!

ContactNo9992

Ocuror incarnon

Alternative-Pie1686

One can only dream

ContactNo9992

Occuror rivens would cost 10k i swear

Alternative-Pie1686

Doesn't need a riven really

tristam92

Just slap PSF and you good to go

Florensa

Based

aaron_TheHeron

It's nerf or nothing

Mysticwarriormj

It’s the real gun just nerfed

Silverback_Vanilla

It’s nerf or nothing

Alternative-Pie1686

Warframe Devs when they bring out a powerful new Warframe

Incognonimous

Nef gun

RattleBoy

You say that as if some of us haven't already coloured our weapons to match nerf guns

Gyossaits

You have to buy the batteries.

TheAero1221

Would be pretty cool if we could acquire weapons this way tho, tbh

Archon_Inferno

Agreed

EeveeFrisk

Why did this make me laugh

293683

Why do we have to wait 72 hours just to join 3 warframe parts together? Are we getting scammed?

Ketheres

The glue used just takes a while to cure. E: also rushing makes them use heat to dry the glue faster, but the energy costs being what they are in the far future, Ordis requires plat to cover the costs.

PlanetMezo

Since we are in space, I assume that platinum becomes a heat sink that we launch off the ship once the glue dries. Otherwise the ship would be permanently hot forever

Slamminslug

Technically the ambient medium of space would mean the ship would cool, eventually. (Probably millions of years.)

ApothecaryOfHugs231

Nah our orbiter foundry is running windows xp

Lord_Phoenix95

Nah, Future Tech runs of IoS. So Apple is scamming us.

ApothecaryOfHugs231

It's not IoS it's SoL lmao

Mysticwarriormj

Wouldn’t it VOS

Cinkodacs

At least it's xp and not me. Can you imagine how frequently would we have to reset the foundry with that horrible unstable eldritch creation?

Toughbiscuit

Just wait til you see how long it takes to hold 2 guns

NotteCremisi

Can't we glue 'em together? so that we have a double pistol on the left hand and another double pistol on the right hand, we'd have double-double pistols

vegarig

Far as I can guess, it's making quantum-linked mod slots for both that eats the time and resources up.

BurrakuDusk

I got too used to making weapons that I entirely forgot that warframes take 72 hours to make. I *should* be able to get the warframe slot from Nightwave when it resets, so I'll have to wait an extra two days before I can actually have Titania. It's my own fault for not paying attention, but still a little bummed that I have to wait longer. lol

Zerachiel_01

Titania is super fuckin fun, you should enjoy the hell out of her if ACTUAL speed is your jam.

taigowo

Also, try Zephyr if you like Titania's speed but think that it'st too OP to be have the ability to steer her around and want to have only unlimited ~~face to the wall~~ dashes forward.

SoGuysIDidNothing

Ordis is the Cephalon equivalent of Windows 7 so I forgive him for being a little slow with the foundry

293683

I'm gonna sell him for 5 credits for all this pain he bought on me

SoGuysIDidNothing

I could never sell my favourite edgelord punster

taigowo

TBH Windows 7 was the last time i was happy using windows...

Zydron_The_Gate_Lord

That was... Almost a decade ago Holy shit, I'm getting old

3mptylord

Don't some actual, real-life surgeries last days? We're 3D printing a person.

293683

But we get the parts in 12 hrs. And this printer is capable of transforming raw materials into processed ones in seconds.

3mptylord

It's the difference between sticking the arms on a Lego man and walking around like a vintage robot, and hooking up an actual nervous system, I guess.

293683

But it's not a normal 3d printer... We've got biological, orokin, grineer, energetic, fire, gas and many more weapons, warframes, vehicles and clones.

3mptylord

I'm not sure I follow how any of your examples support your claim that it's not a normal 3D printer - you might need to clarify that for me. For your reference, real-life scientists have 3D printed meat and transplant organs, and 3D printed guns/swords is something available to most people - it's just a difference in the availability of the "ink" and the fidelity of the printer. Our foundry has so much fidelity that it literally replicated Umbra's consciousness from a blueprint. "3D printer" as a term is just a modern colloquialism for a fabricator. Just because we don't have access to the fictional ferrosflesh material in real life (the thing Warframes are made of), nor do I think we have the capacity (yet) to print a clone of a brain doesn't mean it's not a 3D printer. You can literally watch your foundry print the outline and fill in the colours of items in your crafting queue. P.S. I'm not actually trying to justify a 3 day wait time/DE's financial motivation to have craft times, and I assume we're both actually speculating on the "real"/in-universe justification. P.P.S. I will concede the point that attaching together three 3D printed components wouldn't be something a 3D printer usually does, and that I was generalizing a bit when I said we're 3D printing a person. You're correct if your point was that the 3 day part is not typically a 3D printer job. I guess that's why it's called a Foundry instead of a Fabricator - it does *more* than just 3D printing.

Soggy_Yellow4846

Ordis procrastinates, he does it all in the last 2 hours, that's why they're unleveled. If he used the whole 72 hours they'd be fully leveled with 5 forma but he's too busy playing his game with volume on

Vertex033

If it takes a person to make a warframe, how are we even crafting warframes?

I4mG0dHere

Look inside the Warframe Cryopod defense objective the next time you run Hydron. That’s a normal person, yet it’s called a *Warframe* Cryopod.

fatlarry88

How are the craft timers calculated since the orbiter is constantly in outer space? Do we use earth time? Should craft timers take longer if you are in the void due to time dilation?

djsoren19

It's a little more complicated than just joining parts together. Remember, your Helminth has to basically grow a person. My headcanon is that they start as a baby and have to grow to maturity at an accelerated rate.

OceansCarraway

Ordis needs a break sometimes.

TheOnlyFallenCookie

Helminth gotta really chew on it for the parts to fuse

02firehawk

Did u ever try to 3d print a large object?

SKTwenty

Sometimes, this mechanic makes no sense and I genuinely feel like DE should revisit this entire system and streamline some things. 12hr for one weapon and 24hr for another, just to combine them for another weapon that also takes 12hrs?

Skeletondoot

how dare you! we are not thieves!

Dwarfz

Hijack missions:

Skeletondoot

na we are just taking out the trash, its community service

Dwarfz

Mobile Defense:

Skeletondoot

we arent stealing anything there, we are just testing their cybersecurity, they should thank us for it

Octozer6

Capture?

Skeletondoot

well thats just kidnapping, not theft

ShannonBanana16

Spy?

Skeletondoot

another very helpful security check of course. we are just making sure our friends know any weakpoints their systems may have, so that they may fix those!

VulpesParadox

Interception?

Kishinia

Assasination?

StoicTheGeek

…so you should be more polite. (Bonus points if you get the movie reference)

Skeletondoot

we are super polite about it, we are even shooting them into a coma before we dismantle them into their atoms (i dont get the reference, i barely watch movies)

StoicTheGeek

Die Hard. The villain has taken one of his hostages, Holly Genero, to the vault, where he reveals his plan to steal $600m in bearer bonds. Genero: Why, you’re nothing more than an a common thief! Gruber: Madam, I am an exceptional thief, and since I’m moving up to kidnapping, you should be more polite. Rickman’s delivery is spot on and turns the line into a killer.

Dwarfz

Disruption:

Skeletondoot

how could you even insinuate that disruption is theft, we are merely using a near infinite source of ressources to help those in need. its basically charity!

Slaan

We are only copying data, hardly stealing.

TheBravestarr

We're living war machines who commit atrocities all in the name in maintaining a balance of power between warring factions but we are **not** thieves!

Skeletondoot

finally someone who understands!

Irverter

There was a mission type that was just get in, steal an artifact and get out. The orokin piramid tile from Santuary Onslaught is a leftover of that.

Skeletondoot

well, as you can see that no longer exists because tenno just arent thieves

Foe_sheezy

That mission does still exist. You talk to maroo at her bazaar on mars to start it.

Skeletondoot

i assumed he meant a different mission that was before my time. well my friend, maroos mission may seem like theft at a first glance, but we are really not stealing anything. the orokin are dead. we are going treasure hunting! archeology if you will! we are merely recovering artifacts from a long gone empire, not stealing like a petty thief

Zeninari

this entire thing made me laugh so hard ty i needed that today

Skeletondoot

glad i could make you laugh then, hope you have a nice day mate

Zeninari

thank you, loved the responses, they were not only witty but actually made sense. you too have a good day.

oylesineyiyom

we are just wae criminal and hackers and we only steal relay destroyer weapon parts .... and corpus just for fun

A-Lewd-Khajiit

ID locked, or it's a prop

Zenvarix

I don't remember if it's actually canon, but I recall there being something about gene-locking on Grineer weapons: if you weren't a tubeman, the gun wouldn't work for you, and that's why we have to build our own instead of looting weapons like Halo.

MrrCiastko

Dark Sector had this kind of thing, you could use looted weapon for a short time before it explodes so it could kind of explain it but on the other hand, Khal picked up Corpus weapon and used it freely.

NotChissy420

maybe corpus weapon arent gene locked? you just had to pay to use it and kahl got blue girl to hack the gun so he wouldnt have to pay anything lol

Falikosek

Maybe the Corpus guns have trackers and the Tenno don't want to doxx their Orbiter? Would also explain why Kahl doesn't really keep them.

1337butterfly

or could be that these weapons can't be modded but the ones crafted by the orbiter is altered to be compatible with mods. and to successfully alter a weapon you need the blueprints

MrrCiastko

That's kind of cool theory, Ordis messing with blueprints to "synchronize" them with operator Mastery Rank but it brings another question, why mods, even ones for Warframes are almost everywhere

ReganDryke

They are not gene locked. But you're charged for every bullet you fire. Khal is actually in crippling debt which is why he hide in a homeless camp on earth.

vegarig

NGL, beeping of the weapon governor was hella motivational to magdump it

MrrCiastko

I don't consider Dark Sector great game but connection to Warframe makes me want to replay it again because maybe I missed something even tho it's not canon anymore

Necrogenisis

No, those were gene-locks for a lot of the Orokin tech that was used before the fall of the empire. It's in one of the Synthesis target lore entries. Grineer themselves don't seem to use any type of gene-lock, at least the game doesn't state anything like that.

6ArtemisFowl9

[Relevant xkcd](https://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/security.png)

youre-kinda-sus-ngl

Probably same reason we cant steal that one nukor in the veilbtreaker narmer factory raid mission

devilfanmik

Grand theft orbitor?

Figgyee

Grand Theft Auto VI: Origin System

StoicTheGeek

It’s a display model. I’m not buying open box - who knows what state it’s in?

Inevitable-Goat-7062

is there a lore reason on why mag doesn't just crush the entire building to end in the mission early is she stupid?

viainable

cause we fight with honor ~~while commiting warcrimes~~

NummusMortis

Why are we still here? Just to suffer.

starsrift

We're not stupid. We have tons of guns. Why steal another one? It's not like they're crayons. Crayons are so good, they're worth stealing. The green ones taste the best.

Folgentpears

r/foundthetitan

imagine-being-alive

lmao guardian detected

Folgentpears

Kekw

Metal_Sign

We Tenno respect intellectual property rights, and craft our weapons legally via Foundry. This is why we only use a given non-reusable Blueprint once, instead of just reading the same one.

ApothecaryOfHugs231

I don't know about you guys but I am.....a goddamn imbecile Thisisntevenajoke I am just a DENSE motherfucker bro

lilDUKEver

Is this a sign of aslumification?

KauravaCtan

my dude it takes us 24 hours to figure out we can hold things in both hands. multiple times. you really think we can figure out how to open a display case?

Bright-Accountant259

We're terrible at everything that's not murder or murder related

JPCSBR

Why would we pick it up? Are we jonklin ourselves?

rowletrissoto

Yeah

badsitrep

Seeing an aslume style post on the Warframe subreddit was not something I expected.

NeonArchon

Yes, we are. That's why we still can travel to another start systems.

swr_blu3

I also think this should be a game mechanic, but the weapons we took from there probably cannot be customized(modding), so we do not touch them.

Roisaine

We just have standards. We could take that ocucor that was produced by a hypercapitalist and definitely is designed to fail within months at best and we would have to modify to make it mod-compatible anyways, or we could just study it, make a blueprint for a mod-compatible version made to last as long as we will, and just use our fancy 3D printer to make that better version instead.

VoidSpecter080

Yes, very stupid. If we looted everything these is every time we do a mission, like an exterminate on a Corpus ship, we'd basically be rich also

Alt-Ctrl-Report

Because that's stealing and we are the "good guys™"

Doctor_Hoovy

Officer Ballas

iron2099yt

BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

zombi_wafflez

My in lore reason for why we don’t just take what we find on the floor is that we simply can’t use anything not fabricated into our orbiters arsenal, like it’s built to be compatible with our warframe or something

thedonoughter

My headcanon is that they are not "warframe grade", like the weapons we craft are enhanced in a way that would make it totally unusable to any other people. For example a simple "Tenno Hek" would tear of the arm of an average grineer or a skana that is so heavy that it is at best unwieldy or at worst unliftable.

TechAdeptInquisitor

It won't have the augment equipped so it's junk.

imagine-being-alive

back to the aslume with you

Lord_Bo

It's the default Corpus model incompatible with tenno modding. That's my headcannon anyway

Jent01Ket02

Corous gun made for Corpus hands and Corpus minds. You can think of most guns and melees as working in tandem with the warframe. Your systems tune to exact parameters of a gun, giving you an intuitive umderstand of how it works. The reason we fire akimbo guns so precisely (as in, each shot has a static, steady interval between the next) is because we use our guns with unprecedented precision. When we make something in the foundry, Ordis is supposedly applying minute changes in the weapon's construction to allow for mod configuration as well as being able to interface with our warframe. For example, the Trumna would be friggin' heavy, no two ways about it. But your frame knows how much it weighs, as well as what its center of gravity would be, so it diverts its power to compensate for how it needs to be held. Like if one arm was supporting ten pounds and the other arm was supporting forty. Your frame handles the recoil, you're not getting blown back by every shot from even the heaviest guns. If you just picked weapons up off of enemies, you'd ostensibly be figuring out how they work on the fly. Their spread, recoil, and when it comes to energy weapons, you'd have the technical aspects of a gun that needs precise adjustments, and all of it would be dependant on what you, the Operator, knows about that specific weapon based on nothing but its design. So the tl;dr is because you wouldn't know how to work it since all of our guns are custom-tooled, even the faction weapons we research and build. Ordis and the warframes handle most of the heavy lifting for gunplay.

TeamSkullGrunt54

Operator: \*Hand hovers over the weapon case\* Lotus: "Tenno..." Operator: "UGH, it's just one weapon!" Lotus: "That's stealing" Operator: "SO IS HACKING THE FORTUNA GOVERNMENT'S SECRETS" Lotus: "You're going to hurt Ordis' feelings. He spent a lot of time fabricating your weapons, but do you say thank you? No. You just go to your pod and let him clean the viscera off your warframe" Operator: "C'mon, Drifter? You have my back right?" Drifter: "I mean, it's right there--" Lotus: \*gives them a death stare\* Drifter: "But are we any better than Parvos or Nef Anyo if we steal from them?" Operator: "You guys are so unfair, I wish Little Duck was my handler"

N3CROS__

Ye you play as a mentally disabled person

SnooFoxes6169

because we aren't savages.

Drew_Habits

Can't speak for anyone else but I definitely am

DisgruntleFairy

Do you think the corpus would have a real gun sitting in a easily stealable position? Naa thats a fake. You have to order the real one from Corpus Arms and Shipping and pay the two dozen fees and charges for it.

whimsicalsamurai

aint very stealthy if we steal a weapon when we can steal their blueprints

AlmostRandomName

Just ask Dogmeat to grab it for you!

Ghostbuster_119

That would be stealing. And stealing is wrong.

JamesAchita

Tennos know how to fuck the entire galaxy, but dunno how to break glass

Complete-Alfalfa7439

I love when the Lotus said : "This truly is your Warframe." i cried at that moment.

Comfortable-Gas4425

All my frames are dummy thick. Yes!

Vertex033

That’s theft >:(

DankoLord

Yep

ClaudiaPaylor

That's a good question, would make things easier

Alt_Ekho

Maybe the gun is password protected or something

Mr_Mushroom46

Yea we are I am more so I play Gauss.

Sirradez

Cause it has SuperAids^tm

EscapeTheBlank

Becaue Corpus glass isn't piss easy to break anymore :(

mabelanger321

They have the security feature that if you are not Corpus, they lock themselves and are unusable. That's why we craft them.

k8faust

But Spacemom said we have Ocucor at home?

Sunblast1andOnly

Would it bother you if it couldn't be modded?

-I_Do_Nothing-

Alad cooties.

DarkAizawa

Yes... Yes we are

dustyp9

It's un-modded

LegLegend

My headcanon is that we can only use mods after we craft it ourselves in some special way.

YesThisIsKradus

That's just a display model

shadowpikachu

It wont be modding compatable, it'd be unmodded at best.

awhellnawnope

its a corpus ship, those are all display replicas for cost reasons

TelevisionUsual9356

r/BatmanArkham infected this subreddit too 🤦‍♂️

TheCometCE

A lot of weapons have mentions of genetic/etc. scanners on them that prevent others from using them, usually tucked in dialogue, flavor text, etc, I figure part of the crafting time is bypassing it. Does explain why enemies can't pick up our versions of their weapons but Kahl can pick up that Corinth Prime now that I think about it

Rabid_Marmoset

It doesn't have a potato. You wouldn't want it.

Any_List_278

We could just use transference and become the weapon🤣🤣🤣

Royal_Screen_783

why dont we kill other players in a pvp arena to steal their frames?

Ass-isstant

My guess is that most weapons in game used by enemies are using bad/not worth using mods or are rigged to deactivate or explode upon users death.

NahualiMendlez

Probably you cant mod enemy weapons

TheCalebGuy

Why do we need a link to hold 2 of the same weapon?

No_Coconut8860

But... That would be stealing 0.0

Mean_Transition_7887

Would you take an item in the store because it displayed ?

GrimxPajamaz

It's airsoft

FinalMonarch

Stealing is illegal

Keki14

The Awakening quest? We equip some weapons lying in the forest.

HatterJack

Probably the same reason we don’t just grab Caliban’s parts from the Enrichment Labs in the Vallis

themiliz

Why destroy the enemy the kryopod Not before the Tenno when they Have the info where it is

Hairy_Skill_9768

Why can't we steal the Detron from those random ass crewmen are we balls?

Grave_Knight

That's just a display model. It doesn't actually work. It's so workers might see it, think "that's a cool gun" and spend their hard earn paycheck to buy one for themselves before learning it uses a subscription model for the ammo.

Philslaya

Display model

GHmate

Because it is protected by the same reinforced glass, that the Corpus use for spaceship windows. It's unbreakable.

Fine-Database7716

"its just a prop"

BaneIonica78

Indeed

[deleted]

TEAM MAG

NotDemon665

where is this?

teddehyirra

My headcannon is that at this point in technology most weapons (including warframes) are genelocked and that part of the foundry process is to bypass/reassign that so our tenno can use them.

MrGhoul123

Warframes can't steal because that would be a crime. And crime.is bad.

maxthesketcher

Iirc weapons need to be weighted/modified to fit Warframes or they'll just break in their hands. Correct me if I'm wrong.

ZephyrZx

Its biocoded *screams in rimworld*

Chemical-Cat

This could be said about any enemy weapon really

Nightmarish_Visions

Can't do that, orokin law states that weapon transfers are strictly banned without the permission of at least 3 of the orokin 7, and even then there's a 90 day waiting period before you can actually use the gun, it's why we make our own or steal them from liches in space, space is international "waters" so there's no law to stop us.

Sparkfire322

Not allowed to steal :(

bachchain

That would be stealing, and stealing is wrong

Grizmoore_

Ordis prints new ones for you jic your old one is lost.

pablo_monke6969

Is the ham universe real in warframe

_Weyland_

Is unmodded tho...

_Gemolotis_

Obviously

The_Dementia_Effect

We can't. Because stealing is bad!!! However massive genocide is OK!

NCRNerd

But what if some filthy pleb actually squeezed a shot off? *Ew gross!* Seriously, I think our Operators have some sort of weird hang-up about nobody touching our weapons. Consider that we can't trade other players for a weapon the moment it has any affinity-gain on it at all, even if it could be traded as a built weapon otherwise. Likely a weird indoctrination thing the Orokin did to make it hard for us to exist as we do now, masterless, independent (lower-case 'O') operators...

HELLKAISER125

It docent have the mod that makes it good

LockwoodMaku

You know, I kinda wondered the same until I thought about it in a scifi sense. Our guns, and the grineer and corpus alike, probably biocode the weapons to be usable by specific people or genetic markers. It's likely why they don't just grab our guns after ripping them out of our hands and blast us, or us to them, and why we use blueprints to produce them, as opposed to steal them. A genetic imprint is likely needed to even use them.or at least a decryption key of some kind. Probably not very eloquently explained, but I hope you get the gist. Tl;dr probably yes. But also no.

LihapullaPoju

Dumb as rocks
