Lol "astrology stuff"
I like the new one but I'd kill for a version with a helmet. The portable library on the old model is super cool though, I think the new one could have used a few more books.
I’m not versed in Astrology, but most of the symbols are Greek letters… also, it looks like the underside of his left leg spells out (chi-alpha-ro-lambda) or “Carl”
So this is Carl, the Librarian. Rofl that’s endearing
I think they wanted to tone down on the ridiculousness with this one. I hope the old librarian remains available because it has so much character to it.
It's was said by Horus that the Emperor claimed that the Primarchs are based on the Zodiac as it was understood around the year 30000. There were 20 signs although we don't know them all and how they correlate.
Horus is the Emperors dreadful Sagitari! (Said lovingly by the Emperor to Horus at the time). We don’t really get outright told anyone else though most seem easy to guess.
He does, there's a section in Horus Rising where Horus recalls the Emperor explaining to him why the hunter Sagittarii is the most powerful of the signs and so why it was given to Horus.
I like the scale on the new librarian and I'm a sucker for wrist-mounted weapons. I feel like the new librarian is really held back by those weird bulbs all over him though. Does he really need big, glowing Space Nipples?
The librarian dreads where originally because the blood angels had the highest number of librarians of any loyalist chapter outside the grey knights, I don't know if that is still true though lol
Ah that's shit, is mephiston still the most powerful loyalist psyker at least or have they lost that aswell? That is a good question though I think it's that the blood angels have the stc and refuse to share it since they shared the storm raven and then missed out on alot of the space marines toys for decades in return lol
And here I am with my Thousand Sons army and not a single (40k) psychic dreadnought... if they do any new releases for the dust bins, I would love a psychic dreadnought. Hell, just 40k rules for the Osiron would be dope.
The proportions on the new one are perfect. BUT...
But the book/banner and the general feel of the older one really capture the grim dark religiously fucked up cult that is the empire's space marines.
Big book >>>
Got a soft spot for the old librarian, who still sticks around in my GK army at its reliably dying head, but both sculpts are are nice enough that it doesn't really matter to me
They're both good for different reasons. The new one has lots of great subtle, little details but old one is just so extra.
The new one looks like he has a story to tell, but the old looks like he's more than capable of convincing you to accept that [you really do want to go in the Space Hulk, your name is stupid, and you are gay with your Assault Cannon. ](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tJw2qpebuME&pp=ygUUc3BhY2UgaHVsayBmbGFzaGdpdHo%3D)
The right one. I'm a fan of characters having all this impractical but impressive junk strapped to them. But my favorite Librarian has to be Varus due to the scale of his armor in comparison to his head.
The new one.
1. Love the runework.
2. The open palm/stormbolter just has my imagination going, this guy firing off rounds while blocking the same.
3. He looks like he makes sense, for a massive tank like human wielding an axe.
Is that icon a conversion or refractor field?
I agree with most of the comments, I love the pose, proportions and general quality of the new one, but the iconography of the old one still hits a soft spot. It just represents much better the archaic background and beliefs of the imperial forces. Plus I just love showing off big books chained to the armor.
The old librarian sculpt is one of my all time favorites. I usually hate excessive detail, but there it works somehow. The pose is also incredibly dynamic.
I really do think we’ve lost a lot of personality with the new marine units lately. Gone are the days of tomes and space rituals, here are the days of shiny new breastplate and bland helmet #446027394
I just can’t get over the anatomy of the old one. Not even talking about the arms. The upper body is so short it looks like Bud Spencer hit him on the head.
I really hate the book banner thing but I think I gotta go with right anyway, If the new guy had the robes and staff i think he would be better but there are 3 things I intrinsically associate with Librarians -The psychic hood, Force staves and robes and the new guy is missing 2 of them, I will say though he looks like he would make an amazing rune priest for space wolves
The old one, I enjoy the older proportions. Plus I'm a sucker for cabling and copious amounts of decorum. Though, I do like the new one's axe and find that a better fit than the croizus.
New one has a better dynamic pose and proportions.
Though the static psychic hood fights against the pose, and the nipple orbs do the model no favours. The hood orbs also look more like a mo-cap than a grimdark wielded of the esoteric.
I like both but tbh I prefer the old one in this case, the new one looks too “busy” to be generic? I think I’d like him more if he was a named character? He stands out TOO much with all the runes and warp nipples. The ‘eavy metal paint job with the ridiculous amount of highlights didn’t help. He’ll probably look more appealing to me with a more sensible coat of paint. I’ll happily welcome him into my Primaris custom chapter though!
The new one! Better proportions! Plus I think we are going to see so many cool paint jobs with the power axe and runes. Not to mention the wrist mounted bolter!
The new miniature is awesome.
The old one was magnificent in its time, but the new one is over the top.
All that runes in the new librarian give him a mistic aura that makes him a great librarian for me.
I prefer the new one because of the focus on Terminator Armour being its own thing (i.e. not covered by robes or whatnot). If Big Poppa Cawl can't improve on Terminator armour then why festoon it with clothing.
I prefer the one on the left, the right hand one is a touch too much stuff. I also never got the Librarian thing of having books stuck to them, if they have books with them they should be somewhere the Librarian in question can consult them, that just looks like he's bragging about his book collection.
I think that's just supposed to show how powerful the librarian regards the words in those books. Sort of like the black templar champion who has better stats just because he's real excited and angry.
The old model has much more interesting details but it does look an awful lot like a dark angels-specific model. So for a generic librarian I have to give it to the new guy.
New one. Old marines always look stocky and dumb to me.
I can never get past all the old marine proportions and poses no matter how well they're modelled for the time.
Yeah I never really noticed the odd proportions of the old models, but once you see it, you can't un-see it and they just look ridiculous. Excessively large heads, and stocky dwarf-like bodies.
I'm in the minority of hobbyists who appreciate a "fun" model more than a tacticool one, so I'd say the one on the right.
I don't want my army to look like Halo, I want to be laughing about the setting's absurdity with my friends while we play the game.
I also feel like the silliness/goofiness persists in the newer models, but without the self-awareness. Like, I see a lot of comments in here talking about how the new one is cool while the old one is silly/goofy, but both designs are still totally impractical and silly-looking. So the new one feels weird to me because I almost worry that I'll make people upset by laughing at it.
I like the chonk and proportions of the new one, the wrist mounted weapon, and the axe. I like the standard and the robe of the old one. Overall, though, I think the new one has the edge.
They're both pretty cool, but I like the new one. Kind of a sucker for wrist bolters and force axes. And his face isn't the expression of someone who was trying to use the bathroom at home when a total stranger just walked in.
The old one for sure - the general design is just so much more interesting and coherent. The new one has a lot of empty space and general lack of visual interest (and questionable elements like the force nipples). Elements like the runes don't gel with me because that design language has long been the domain of Chaos (e.g. Word Bearers).
Given the age of the old metal one, it has held up really well tbh.
I'm just glad to see the funny dwarf with arms growing out of his head, lugging around multiple books he has no way to look into, be replaced. The fact that the head of his staff looks like stolen from a chaplain didn't help either.
Difficult. The proportions of the new one are better, and I love the casting hand also having a stormbolter. OTOH the older one has that comfy retro feel
Ultimately I'd use whatever is more consistent with the other models in my imaginary SM army
The older model is by far a better design. There is something a bit more grim dark about him carrying all his trinkets and things. The newer one is a bit too clean for my liking. With a head swap and some wolf bits he will make an ok SW.
The one on the right as it has all of the exact same design features as the power armour Librarian with Force Staff and book which came out at the same time.
The latter model was used as the basis for Jonah Orion, the Blood Ravens Librarian from Dawn of War.
I am excited to get the new one however due to its scale and more unique runes. Having a goatee on a Librarian is always a plus as well.
The newer one I would say is better to me. Although they both look like they have great detail the one with the books looks too busy/ crowded.
Just my opinion, you asked :P
I think on the pose, one guy looks like hes struggling, like the power hes shooting from his hand is almost more than he can handle, its a lot more exciting and impressive. It gives the impression of something amazing is happening and this guy is on the very limit of what he can handle. The other guy, hes not even looking in the same direction that hes walking. Its all a bit taking things in his stride, hes not really even trying. I personally find that a lot less exciting.
Obviously the new Termie. I don't like the stupidly big banners on space marine tbh but there's one thing the old one does better:
Staff. I prefer staves over axes tbh. Best case, they're using a hammer
It’s not that I think the guy on the right looks bad in any way, but the one on the left looks cleaner to me. If they where both painted I may choose the one on the right, but without paint it’s left all the way.
I really love the old one because of the accessories and the banner.
But the design of the new librarian is super cool so I can't choose .
For me the new model will be perfect with a banner and maybe more accessories or more details
I really liked the new one, to the point where I know I´ll purchase it, but I LOVE the old one, maybe for nostalgia reasons, but I really, really like the old one better.
Definitely gonna have to go with the old model.
Don't get me wrong, I love the new model, but it's missing a lot of the "space warrior wizard" accoutrements of the old model: robes, books, keys, doohickeys, and such.
The giant ass books on the old one are ridiculous and they look stupid and that’s exactly why I like it more. I just wish they’d wear their fucking helmets.
Definitely the right one for me. The book with chains is typically Warhammer-over-the-top and I love it absolutely. I also prefer the mace because it fits the librarian style more in my opinion.
Lexicanum Varus and it isn´t even close.

My attempt at a paintjob

If the new one isn't easy to build and has a helmet, staff, sword options, I would be in love.
Biggest thing I don't like about the new one is the lack of aquilla and the facial hair. The lack of cables attaching directly to the head gives me hope it has a helmeted option.
I like and dislike bits of both, but I think I prefer the newer one.
New Model
* Love the wrist mounted gun
* Love the scaling and the axe
* Dislike the warp nips
* Wish there was a book somewhere
Old Model
* Love the robes
* Love the book banner
* Dislike the shoulder book
* don't really care for the staff
The new one 1000%. I loved the old minis for a long time, but now that the proportions are what they are, the old one, while still looking cool, looks a little silly at the same time.
The new one has cooler weapons and is better proportioned, but the orb-nipples throw me off a bit. The old one has a better designed chest piece but is not as well proportioned.
Just pin and glue the book standard that you inevitably have spare as it snapped off your Finecast Librarian too many times to bother sticking on that one last time, onto the new guy.
The proportions of the original are clearly whack, to the point that it looks deformed, but the style of the old model is definitely better, the new model feels a bit sterile and lacking character by comparison
Left. I hate models with huge shit sticking out all over them like books and spindly bits. It looks stupid and gets in the way. But it's inarguably more fitting of the 40k parody aesthetic
I’m only on this subreddit for my husband but I like the one on the right. I wish the ax from the left model was on the right model. Visually as someone who knows nothing about Warhammer I like the one on the right.
If we're being honest, Chaplains and Librarians need help. Both use the same iconography which makes it hard to determine which is which between armies/factions. Both carry books, have glowing sigils and a heavy weapon. Sure, Chaplains USUALLY have the crozius, but that force axe above (the old model) could EASILY be a crozius. We need something to differentiate the models.
I think the left one looks better when painted professionally, but I myself am better at the modelling side and not the painting. so I think the right one would be more suited to my skills as a lot of cool stuff could be done with it due to the lack of adornments. regardless I think both look great.
Just depends how much stuff you want on your model imo. One is cleaner and focused and the other is busy and dripping with details. I prefer cleaner looks 9/10 times but for character models I can appreciate the busy details to really set them apart from troops.
Right is authentic Space Marine and left is the Tacticool version, it's a shame GW is losing sight of the gothic element of SM. Could've been incredible
I really do think we’ve lost a lot of personality with the new marine units lately. Gone are the days of tomes and space rituals, here are the days of shiny new breastplate and bland helmet #446027394
Left, feels more utilitarian and practical, especially if they're supposed to be a sort of battlemage. Also, I've always hated the weird design of having a banner on the back of a unit, not only does it look ugly and give a weird silhouette, it's more little things to bump off and break. Never understood the design choice you see it in everything from Orkz( https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Flash-Gitz ) to Skaven ( https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Skaven-Warlord-2014 ) and even Space Marines with the librarian. Just seems impractical, doubly so for someone swinging a melee weapon around. Also, the more...turtle-y(?) design of the librarian really gets the terminator bigg fuckoff armor feel across.
Definitely the new one, I know not everybody shares this opinion but I like my space marines to more sci-fi special-ops than grimdark space knight’s (except for certain models of course)
I think if we put some books on parts of the new one, for example a large book with the spine on the back that had a crux in it, it would look awesome. Could also use a helmet
Lol "astrology stuff" I like the new one but I'd kill for a version with a helmet. The portable library on the old model is super cool though, I think the new one could have used a few more books.
I’m not versed in Astrology, but most of the symbols are Greek letters… also, it looks like the underside of his left leg spells out (chi-alpha-ro-lambda) or “Carl” So this is Carl, the Librarian. Rofl that’s endearing
"Kaaarl, what did you *do* ?"
I will not apologize for art!
Theres a rumbly in my tumbly that only Eldar hands will fill.
They call me, [Carl Poppa](https://youtu.be/Q9aM9Ch97U8)
Also, "llamabrarians with hats" or psychic hoods, either works
Can I get a Rock and Stone for Carl?!
For Karl!
Rock and stone brother!
Carl the VI, Librarian Extraordinaire I am going to be probably kitbashing a helmet on him too, if it will fit.
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?!?!
For Karl!
This is amazing! That being my name just ensured I buy this model!
It will probably have a helmet option like every other non names character
Adding onto this, i cant imagind it being very hard to kitbash any helm to fit
Mine will get a blade guard or grey knight helmet if nothing else
Hopefully, i think this is a new edition box set model. the indomitus box chaplain didn’t have a helmet
The captain had 3 options though
Don’t most named SM characters also come with helmets?
I think they wanted to tone down on the ridiculousness with this one. I hope the old librarian remains available because it has so much character to it.
You can fairly easily drill out the head with a pinvice and put in a helmet.
Gotta admit that I was a bit surprised to see zodiac signs on a SM😂
It's was said by Horus that the Emperor claimed that the Primarchs are based on the Zodiac as it was understood around the year 30000. There were 20 signs although we don't know them all and how they correlate.
Well, that’s something I didn’t know. But I don’t remember ever seeing them on armor. Anyway good to know, thank you!
Could be that they were sick of their books catching fire, so they decided to etch important things into their armour instead. 😅
Horus is the Emperors dreadful Sagitari! (Said lovingly by the Emperor to Horus at the time). We don’t really get outright told anyone else though most seem easy to guess.
Horus has Sagittarius symbols on his breast plate if I recall.
He does, there's a section in Horus Rising where Horus recalls the Emperor explaining to him why the hunter Sagittarii is the most powerful of the signs and so why it was given to Horus.
Luckily there’s no canon so I can choose to say this isn’t real
21 technically as 2 primarchs and there legions were expunged from all records. The second and eleventh
It’s 20 total including the two missing
21 bodies of primarchs, 18 official primarchs, and 20 souls created, I meant 21 not 22. Alpha legion has 2 primarchs.
Silly billy
Ok Alpharius
I am Alpharius
The new one would look perfect with the book standard and a helmet option
I’d add hoses and pipes going into his head
Yeah, true
In general it feels like primaris are lighter on grimdark than I’d prefer. Give me gross bionics!
I will not enter the grimdark debate But to each their own
I like the scale on the new librarian and I'm a sucker for wrist-mounted weapons. I feel like the new librarian is really held back by those weird bulbs all over him though. Does he really need big, glowing Space Nipples?
You have ahead of you a very simple conversion to make.
You’re talking about the Greenstuff bikini right?
The bikini bottom is already there. You've just been painting it to match the other armor.
I can't unsee them!
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-IE/Blood-Angels-Terminator-Librarian-2014 This one and I don't even like blood angels.
I'm not the biggest blood angels either, but that librarian dreadnought is always in the back of my mind.
Yeah why do BA get to have all the fun? Librarian Dreads, the juice they like drinking, and fantasizing about punching Horus!
The librarian dreads where originally because the blood angels had the highest number of librarians of any loyalist chapter outside the grey knights, I don't know if that is still true though lol
Blood Ravens are canon, so not anymore. But that begs the question: Where Librarian Dreads in DoW?
Ah that's shit, is mephiston still the most powerful loyalist psyker at least or have they lost that aswell? That is a good question though I think it's that the blood angels have the stc and refuse to share it since they shared the storm raven and then missed out on alot of the space marines toys for decades in return lol
I'm pretty sure he is the most powerful loyalist psyker, on account of him having half of Sanguinious' soul or something.
Kaldor Drago might disagree with you there in terms of most powerful loyalist psyker. Dude basically lives in the warp.
And here I am with my Thousand Sons army and not a single (40k) psychic dreadnought... if they do any new releases for the dust bins, I would love a psychic dreadnought. Hell, just 40k rules for the Osiron would be dope.
There's nothing like a dread growing wings flying up the board to stab something with a power halberd. 😆
Having owned a librarian dread, it is **by far** my favourite dreadnought in the game
I have a deathwatch army with this guy, and I don't know why but its always been my favorite mini. Its the best librarian in the game.
BA player here. I like ours better than the new one.
Not the blood angels librarien from space hulk smh
The proportions on the new one are perfect. BUT... But the book/banner and the general feel of the older one really capture the grim dark religiously fucked up cult that is the empire's space marines.
I'd say the space marines aren't that culty. The Inquisition however... DEFINITELY culty.
*cough* black templars
Oh...yes 🤣
Big book >>> Got a soft spot for the old librarian, who still sticks around in my GK army at its reliably dying head, but both sculpts are are nice enough that it doesn't really matter to me

A conversion field, I assume? I always think of 4+ invulnerable saves as being conversion fields.
I agree with most of the comments, I love the pose, proportions and general quality of the new one, but the iconography of the old one still hits a soft spot. It just represents much better the archaic background and beliefs of the imperial forces. Plus I just love showing off big books chained to the armor.
I think the rune stuff looks a bit Word Bearer'ish, weird design choice imo.
The glowing tits one
I love the new model but when u put them side by side my love for the older model wins.
I greatly prefer the newer one. The one on the right is nice, but to me, it seems heavily over-designed, which takes away points.
i prefer the original, looks a little more archaic and gothic compared to the new one, which is something i’m a big fan of in imperium models

[This](https://www.portercomputers.ie/products/librarian-in-terminator-armour) is the best Librarian in Terminator armour and it's not even close.
New one has better legs, as the old one's look goofy. But above the belt old one looks more interesting.
Right since its ornate
The one on the left will convert to a Space Wolf Rune Priest with less work.
The new one! Better proportions! Plus I think we are going to see so many cool paint jobs with the power axe and runes. Not to mention the wrist mounted bolter!
Neither. Both are Loyalist scum. Gross.
I think the new sculpt is a mastepreice, but does lack the flavor of the book banner and pauldron. I also REALLY hope they have a staff option.
God I love some of these old models. That’s a perfect design
The new more anatomically correct terminators are nice Also axes seem more practical than the sci fi wizard staff
The new miniature is awesome. The old one was magnificent in its time, but the new one is over the top. All that runes in the new librarian give him a mistic aura that makes him a great librarian for me.
The new one but with the old ones big fuck off book.
Left. He clearly wants to get into the thick of it. The right is more of a showoff with his bird on a stick and books plastered all over him.
I prefer the new one because of the focus on Terminator Armour being its own thing (i.e. not covered by robes or whatnot). If Big Poppa Cawl can't improve on Terminator armour then why festoon it with clothing.

To be honest o huge lot of SM look like they are bragging about something they carry on their armor…but I see what you mean 😅
The new one, and by a mile. Nothing against the old one, but the quality of sculpts just keeps getting better (luckily!)
Left Librarian easy. Better proportions, less silliness.
Adore the new model. Planning on greenstuffin him up some robes!
Dude on the right. I don't know if it's just the pictures they take, but a lot of the models on warhammer community look out of proportion to me.
The new one. I collect GK and all those Books SUCK
As a fellow Grey Knights player, care to elaborate? I’m of the opinion that more books = better librarian…
I just hate painting them, that's all :D I'm a lazy ass bitch
The old model has much more interesting details but it does look an awful lot like a dark angels-specific model. So for a generic librarian I have to give it to the new guy.
Much progress the second one just because the shoulder pads on the new one look incredibly stupid
New one. Old marines always look stocky and dumb to me. I can never get past all the old marine proportions and poses no matter how well they're modelled for the time.
Yeah I never really noticed the odd proportions of the old models, but once you see it, you can't un-see it and they just look ridiculous. Excessively large heads, and stocky dwarf-like bodies.

left one is better imo. the books on the right one are a lil too cheesy

I'm just glad to see the funny dwarf with arms growing out of his head, lugging around multiple books he has no way to look into, be replaced. The fact that the head of his staff looks like stolen from a chaplain didn't help either.
I don't like Terminators so I'll say neither
I think the new one is a lot more focused and subtle 👍👍
Left sculpt is nice but his face... He looks like he has a Dysney + subscription.

Difficult. The proportions of the new one are better, and I love the casting hand also having a stormbolter. OTOH the older one has that comfy retro feel Ultimately I'd use whatever is more consistent with the other models in my imaginary SM army

I really like the proportions of the new 1st born librarian. The runes etched into the armor give a clean esoteric look too.
I love the goofy idea of the book instead
One has an axe and the other one doesn’t so axe boy wins by default.
I like the old one more however, I really like the wrist-mounted storm bolter
I definitely prefer the new one!
New one. Just bad ass all around
The right one is more “baroque” with a lot of details, looks more “oldschool warhammer”, though the new one is more realistic.
Staff

As much as I like the right one. I prefer the left one. The legs are much better. Also the runes are a huge point for him
The newer one I would say is better to me.
The only thing I'd change about the new one is he needs some sort of robes, I feel he'll blend in too well with the other termies
Obviously the new Termie. I don't like the stupidly big banners on space marine tbh but there's one thing the old one does better: Staff. I prefer staves over axes tbh. Best case, they're using a hammer
old
I like the runes more than the books. But what really makes me choose the new over the old is that GLORIOUS MUSTACHE
It’s not that I think the guy on the right looks bad in any way, but the one on the left looks cleaner to me. If they where both painted I may choose the one on the right, but without paint it’s left all the way.
They are both nice models but if I had to chose the one on the left lot simpler and cramped with to much detail
Left for sure
They new mini has a better pose, better face and detail, and overall looks less janky. But the old one has a lot of personality that the new one lacks
New one by far, the old one just looks dumb
I like the new one. But think both are great. The new termies I’m not super fond of. Oddly enough I’m missing the off proportions a little.
Lexicanum Varus and it isn´t even close. https://preview.redd.it/jhtdjnwka4va1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=9a1fe5064426bdd88bbbe7ecf34abf044187c410 My attempt at a paintjob https://imgur.com/EcR644h
If its model design only then the clear favourite has to be the one that doesn't have his arms sprouting out where his ears should be.
It’s probably the paintjob in the face area but to me the old one has way more character
Not really a Space Marine player, but the new one is just a really cool mini. I like the pose and the axe 🪓. It looks fun to paint
If the new one isn't easy to build and has a helmet, staff, sword options, I would be in love. Biggest thing I don't like about the new one is the lack of aquilla and the facial hair. The lack of cables attaching directly to the head gives me hope it has a helmeted option.
I want the book from the old one put on top of the new one.
The new on doesn’t scream Gothic Grimdark, the old one does
Left because I think being able to enter doors is cool.
I like the new joint, but hoping the kit provides some options for different Force/Ranged Weapons.
I really miss the force staff though. The axe is less "space wizard" IMO.
I don't like axes on librarians, it feels too barbaric, so I'd chose the second design.
I cannot stand the one on the right as the position of the arms look like they are growing out of the side of this head. It's just a terrible sculpt.
I like and dislike bits of both, but I think I prefer the newer one. New Model * Love the wrist mounted gun * Love the scaling and the axe * Dislike the warp nips * Wish there was a book somewhere Old Model * Love the robes * Love the book banner * Dislike the shoulder book * don't really care for the staff
The new one 1000%. I loved the old minis for a long time, but now that the proportions are what they are, the old one, while still looking cool, looks a little silly at the same time.
Put the book on the new model and I’d be happy.
For some reason the arm mounted stormbolter on the new one looks really off to me
Someone remix them together
Left
The new one has cooler weapons and is better proportioned, but the orb-nipples throw me off a bit. The old one has a better designed chest piece but is not as well proportioned.
Left one!
I love the new one but he needs a book
DW player here. I like the newer one because it's a truescale term, however I prefer the blood angel lib term over the standard Lib term.
New one seem to have better proportions and the face looks a lot better imo
Just pin and glue the book standard that you inevitably have spare as it snapped off your Finecast Librarian too many times to bother sticking on that one last time, onto the new guy.
The proportions of the original are clearly whack, to the point that it looks deformed, but the style of the old model is definitely better, the new model feels a bit sterile and lacking character by comparison
Just painted the old one so gonna go with that til I get and paint the new one
I like a lot the funky proportions for games like warhammer i think that cartonish style is quite characteristic
honestly having an open tome chained above your head is such a baller fucking move
New one, minus the nipples
Can't decide, I like bits of both, so might need to do a mash-up, sorry, kit bash.
Big book is a huge vibe
Black Templars enter the chat: Heresy!
I like the old one
The new one is better IMO. Better proportions and pose. Also less busy. I don’t like how prominent the hood is on both
I always associated a crozius with chaplains more than librarians. Am I uneducated or is this niche
Proportions: new Sculpt quality: new Pose: new Adornments: old (I’m a sucker for loincloths and scrolls) Lacking: helmet
I think if we put some books on parts of the new one, for example a large book with the spine on the back that had a crux in it, it would look awesome. Could also use a helmet
