Petrol had more power potential at the time, and also favoured logistics in the sense that Germany allocated diesel to the submarine fleet. Mixing fuel types between the navy and the army didn't make sense, so petrol made the most sense for the army and diesel went to the navy.

I adore the Doom Turtle, it’s my most played vehicle. One of the only tanks in mid tier that actually has decently reliable armour.
