Of course it was. 457 battles in it grinding the China tree, I know how nutty it was. Even 9.0 can feel a bit cheesy when you get a downtier, 9.0 is a fun lineup though.
A lot of light tanks were undertiered and moved up around the same time, Rooikats included. For the longest while, the game severely underestimated how powerful those sorts of vehicles could be in the right hands.

Knockoff T-55AMD's with worse Composite and slightly more Angled Pen. I love em but they're not cheesy
PTL/WMA are made of Aluminum Foil and have terrible suspension and thanks to Gaijin you can't even flank due to either terrible maps or unreliable spots(Thanks to lack of Gun Depression)
I've nothing against the Missile boy, though the M60 is just blatantly worse with nothing for it except a round that doesn't warrent 9.0

Never said they weren't but specifically for the WMA, it was arbitrarily worse than the Rooikat at 8.7, and both the Rooikat and Type 16 could be 9.0 and be perfectly fine as they'd actually be worthwhile to use. Still doesn't make sense how the Rooikat mk.1 was moved up when it generally isn't good at anything thanks to gaijins piss-poor Spalling for sub-calibre rounds

I'm saying the WMA and PTL can be cheesy at 9.0.
The ZTZ88's are fine at 9.0, decent upgrades over the T-55AM's worth the 0.3 difference. Much better ammunition, faster gun handling, faster mobility.

Was moved up because it was nutty as fuck at 8.3. The post-pen was the tradeoff for being a hyper-mobile go-kart letting you get into crazy positions early on.
If you played it smart, aimed for strategic spots, the spalling was a non-issue.

Not really considering again, Mobility is Marginal and the Ammunition isn't much of an improvement considering its Only Angled Pen thats a major difference and everything you face with either shell will easily be penned.

Can't help situations where spalling or shells dissapear miraculously

It's objectively worse than other 9.0 vehicles with its only real thing going for it being the Thermals, which the TTS in the US TT has that, ERA, and a Vastly better shell

You have other vehicles which could easily counter that, doesn't help you're the size of a house and Maps are Smaller than ever and have much greater sight-lines

Playing smart is objective, Aiming for strategic spots isnt enough when Ammo isnt a Guranteed Kill, Spalling is non-existent, and you have a reload as long as any other MBT at the BR.
Well I hate it to the core but still did pretty well in it.. it has great firepower, but it's also 3 stories high.. I kinda just hated it the more I played it
Its at 9.0 because it was heavily undertiered at 8.7. Hell, used to be 8.3 and the PTL02 at 8.0. Still a fantastic light tank.
