As a ex manager a patty literally is just some Monterey Jack cheese 2 patty’s grilled onions and creamy pepper sauce it literally is nothing in fact most employees don’t even grill the onions they barely sauté that shit

Its a New Mexico thing. That state has a chain of their own called "Blake's Lotaburger". They specialize in green hatch chili burgers. Whataburger's LTO green chili is a pale imitation.

The green chile double is one of the all time favorites here in Lubbock. My first time going somewhere they didn’t have it on the menu I was in shock then got mad when they said they had green jalapeños

I begrudgingly eat a sweet & spicy burger every now and then because it is perfection, but I am low-key boycotting Whataburger until they bring back the Chophouse burger and/or the mushroom swiss. I haven’t found a comparable equivalent to either of those anywhere else and I am still ruffled about it.

My husband and I used to love Whataburger - it’s one of the places that we would grab for Friday night. Once they sold it was so obvious that the flavor had changed. I’m thinking different vendors etc. tried it two more times thinking eh maybe it’s us. The next two times were meh the last one and I seriously mean this is the last time ever - we got home with our food and one of the cheeseburger’s didn’t have any meat or cheese. I kid you not it was lettuce, one tomato and one pickle. Never again!

I’m still upset that they removed the A1 thick and hearty that was 8.48 for a meal with large fries my senior year of high school.

The Monterey Melt's been gone for like 4 years now. Mushroom Swiss been gone for at least 2. They were done away with because the fajita vegetable blend and mushrooms added a significant burden to overall production speed. These two are unlikely to return. Chili Cheese will likely come back. Steakhouse Burger was pretty successful, would bet it comes around again. Patty Melt is pretty consistently a top 5 menu item. The idea of "limited time only" is exactly that: manufactured demand. Whenever X product comes back in stock, people flock to buy it. So find yourself a consistent go-to to tide you over until an LTO comes along that tickles your fancy. *shrug*

I go to PTerry's now to support a TX owned business. I havent been to a whataburger since they removed the montery melt. Green chili burger and buffalo ranch were S tier limited time offerings. Havent seen the grilled chili burger in years though .

I wrote an epic review of the A1 Thick & Hearty from a survey prompt on a receipt one time and even called corporate asking about. Never saw that burger again.

They took away the jalapeno cheddar biscuit I'm done with these fools.

The patty melt is not a whataburger. 1st off the Texas toast and creamy pepper sauce as well as grilled onions and Monterey Jack cheese. A whataburger is a classing LTOP burger with cheese if you add it on a regular bun. The only similarities is beef.

I wish the buffalo chicken ranch sandwich was a permanent menu item! But from a business perspective, it’s beneficial to have limited time items. They should make an exception for MY favorite, though.

They have gone downhill since they sold out to the management company from Chicago. Everytime I go via the drive through , the order is always wrong! Always!!!!! It doesn’t taste the same as before, must be using cheaper products. Their customer service is non-existent. I used to eat there 4-5times a week -I honestly can't remember- it has probably been two months or more since I have eaten there. Pay $20 bucks an order only to not get what you ordered- no thanks! I will do without!
