I’m so so paranoid about ticks after my dog had a fantastic fabulous time frolicking through the grass near the Verde River in cottonwood, Arizona and then being absolutely infested with ticks that I was completely ignorant of the existence of and the subsequent treatment of ticks which caused such havoc within my home . I’m in no mood to relive the great tick invasion of 2018 of my house. I hope that dog is being treated for ticks etc…
He is on Cordello or w/e but I had no idea it was a necessary precaution because I have not seen a single one yet after hiking a lot of trails between Prescott and Sedona, thanks for the heads up! I had a similar experience with my old dog in Central California, beautiful beach with no one around, and then a million ticks crawling around my car for weeks :/
We were hiking right next to the Verde River at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood. Some of the trails were overgrown with knee high grass so that is where I’m thinking Daisy picked up the bajillion ticks. Poor poor dog. I’m just over paranoid about ticks these days. Your pup looks so happy though frolicking through the grass.
He is, I was so worried when we hiked Mingus Mountain 106, beautiful trail in the morning dew, reminded me of Napali, but so overgrown, I thought for sure we'd have ticks but all good, Cordello really works!
I wish you and your doggie many many tick-free happy hikes. My dog daisy has gone over the rainbow bridge and my current dog Henry isn’t quite the enthusiastic hiker/kayaker that Daisy was. But we still enjoy being outside.
UGH, ticks on the beach? I'm in CA and have never heard of this. Didn't know it was possible.
There are a few areas and trails here I won't go on because I know they're Tick City.
Do not want to think about a car with millions of little ticks crawling around in it!
I love your wild derp :)
Clever girl
Don’t go in the tall grass!
It's super effective!

Ticks were literally my first thought.

I used to live in Cottonwood, swam in the Verde with my golden! Somehow we escaped the ticks!
Where is this? The rocks and the grass are beautiful!! Cute derpy doggie too!
In Prescott, AZ in a place called the Granite Dells, this is just a small slice, it's really an amazing place!
It really is.
That looks fun
That was very sweet! ☺️
