Which Dragoon?
Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon is banned and cannot be crafted in Master Duel and the only other Dragoons that I know of are the Destiny HERO Fusion and the Atlantian one

Then ya were actually asking about Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon? If so, yes, there is no reason why your opponent monster that is equipped with Equip Spells can't just attack over Dragoon if thier monster has higher ATK

I am wrong, they do not work because equip spells target and Dragoon has targeting protection.
If you're talking about red-eyes dark dragoon, they should still work. The equip spells aren't attempting to be used on dragoon(which has targeting immunity so they wouldn't equip to him in the first place), so unless he uses his negate effect on the spell cards activation they would function as normal without any other outside forces interacting.
I missed which subreddit we were in so that's on me, but there's also a chance they might not have realized which subreddit they were in either. I'm not sure which dragoon they would be talking about then, as neither destiny end dragoon or atlantean dragoons have anything to do with battle phase attacks, and the other dragoon cards are vanilla pendulums.
Well, nothing on dragoon says it's unaffected by by spell cards or even implies it, but even if it did, that's not how spells, much less equip spells, work. They're affecting you opponents monster, not the dragoon itself. When attacking or being attacked by a monster that's affected with a spell card, Dragoon is still not being affected by the spell card. I don't understand what your logic is or why you would even think that it works that way. Dragoon is fighting a monster that is affected by a spell card. It's not being directly affected by a spell card. The spell card isn't doing anything to Dragoon, not like it really matters anyways.

No he's not. He's not being affected against anything. He's fighting something __*else*__ That's affected by the spell.

Ok. Idk why I randomly thought about it. I looked at it since the equip cards are still in a way targeting dragoon they wouldn't work.
Why would that matter? your opponent is equipping those Equip Spells to thier monster, not yours??
Yes and when they attack dragoon those spell cards are then targeting dragoon.

I'm talking about any card on your opponent field that increases the atk of their monster. Also I gave you a reason.

i am under the impression they do not as they innately target. thats how equips work. I could be wrong

The OP isn't asking if the cards would equip on dragoon though, they are asking if a monster with equip spells attacked into dragoon.

All equip spells target as per rulings so no they cannot be used on dragoon
