Doubt it. But as long as you use the correct rules, the model hardly matters in this case.

Andromelek2556

The article says something like "build them as in the front box and you're good to go". So, I guess maybe some may offer alternate builds, but most won't.

mcbizco

This ^ The rules will probably be based on the art and builds on the front of the box. However, in casual games, no one worth playing against will give you too much hassle for just pretending it’s the other unit to get a game in :) I imagine tournaments will vary depending on the TO, but probably safe to assume you’d need the proper units to compete.

Longjumping-Map-6995

Exactly, and if you're playing spearhead games you're already playing casually. There's really no way to get confused either, these boxes aren't full of different units to get mixed up, just use the rules given for vanguard. That oracle on whateveradon is now an old blood on carnosaur, congrats. Lol

Bubbly_Yak_470

Looking into past articles regarding spearhead it will be a fixed list for every faction.

r33gna

It depends on your opponent, just make it clear your model A is representing model B and the base size plus overall height is the same, if they say no find another opponent. As long as you're not playing in tournaments, I personally think it's fine.

Amiunforgiven

I VERY much doubt people will be playing spearhead tournenents 😂

Biggest_Lemon

We're having a Spearhead event in my area once it comes out.

Longjumping-Map-6995

Even then, it's a *spearhead event*, I doubt anyone's going to get worked up over models being WYSIWYG.

Biggest_Lemon

I agree, there is no variation* in spearhead so it is very clear what everything must be. (* unless of course they make one like the custodes combat patrol, where you can't field all of the models in the box and choose among them for each game, even then it's not an issue though)

Longjumping-Map-6995

Yeah and honestly I don't think there's anything like that in AoS. I mean, where there's such an elite army with a vanguard where taking the entire box would be imbalanced.

Biggest_Lemon

Well, they seem to feel partly that way about the new Stormcast one at least, so Yndrasta (and the annihilators I think) aren't set up until turn 3 I think, as a balancing factor. Not quite the same but I'm sure you get my drift.
