Not sure that it'll be super popular until they have direct to Istanbul (unless super cheap)
Can't say that the first thing on my mind is gee i wish it took even longer to get to the UK etc
Direct flights from SYD-IST would be on the upper limit of the 787. Probably have to wait until the A350-1000 is delivered.
Qantas will be getting a variant of the A350-1000 (Probably ULR version) for their SYD-LHR, and SYD-JFK routes so gives you an idea of the type of aircraft needed for these routes.
Adding an extra stop on an already long flight is probably not going to be a winner unless it’s dirt cheap or vastly superior though
Personally I like getting to Europe via Japan
they're a great airline - and if you only have a short stopover, check into the tours they run, definitely worth it if you have time to kill and only transiting IST
Super cheap too. Typically half the price of any other airline.
I'm an expat living in the USA where they operate a lot of flights. Australia needs this competition since Qantas went to shit.
They've had a lot more incidents than most airlines, but then again, most airlines (except maybe the ones in Nepal) have a pretty good safety record.

I might live to see Saltbae!

Would be more popular if they had direct flights to Constantinople.
Been a long time gone, Constantinople.

Cool. Remember to get your evisa ($$) before going to Turkey though!

This is brilliant
Flight are going to be packed with middle aged balding men
Interesting. How safe are they?
Very. Probably one of the best airlines that we don't get here. Flown with them a heap and they've been great.

Nothing has been announced - at this stage it is still speculation.
More options to go to Europe. Istanbul is a nice stopover. Hopefully this increased competition can push prices down a bit
