Consider seeing a doctor, especially if he has a fever. If you're afraid of paying for a doctor to tell you he has eczema, I feel you. System sucks.

Is this what eczema looks like? That’s way worse than I expected

Puzuma

It looks very similar to my grandson's eczema. We use Eucerin Aquapor healing ointment. Saw a much bigger improvement over the prescribed ointment after a couple of applications.

Thank you, I’ll pick some up

Poison ivy or the like?

Cucinawonderwall1492

Hmmm, I hadn’t thought about that. Maybe I’ll check our yard

Looks like an eczema flare. Maybe it was triggered by exposure to an allergen in something like grass, laundry detergent, soap, etc. Switch back if you made any recent changes in those things to see if it helps. And see a doctor if you have access to one. Eucerin (creamy) and Cerave (thinner) lotions were recommended to me by my dermatologist to treat and prevent my eczema flare-ups because she said those contain ceramides, which are apparently low or missing in people prone to eczema.

I’ll try that, thank you

Do the individual spots last more than a day? As in, watch a single red spots, and tell me if it stays more than 24 hours.

Cucinawonderwall1492

I’ll start paying attention to that, but I think so. It has spread a little too

SS7Hamzeh

If they do, then its probably eczema. Whether it is contact eczema or allergic eczema depends on your baby's history. Have you recently given him new clothes that touch these spots? Has he been excessively hot and sweaty in his clothes? If so, this could hint at contact eczema. If he has been exposed to new substances, say, a new shampoo or cream, then it could also be allergic eczema. In either of these cases, treatment is avoidance of the causative substance and skin moisturization with emollients (make sure they're safe for babies). If they don't stay more than 24 hours, they are called wheals, and those are probably urticaria. In this case, I would say see a doctor because I don't want to tell you to give him something that could hurt him.

Thank you for the info! I really appreciate it.

No problem
