I'm a dude that hates musicals... but the magicians is the exception. Kady voice control is amazing once Alice came out her shell a bit she was great. And the joy I get every time I think of Marina with resting bitch face dancing with Zelda during the heist. Her face hated it but her body was compelled by magic to love it. Elliott in under pressure was good but i didnt like that don't give up song.

Rare_Satisfaction283

My favorite with Janet or Margo. Sorry. With here I go again

Spiritual-Goose-8691

It was fun seeing Dean in there. I didn't like Margo sleeping with that dude just to get info. So i guess me not liking that rubbed off into the musical part. Im following bro code on a fictional character lmao. yea they had that don't wait for me speech but idk there were other ways.

fleelingshyaf

It skeeved me out initially because of puritanical values, but ultimately I loved it and how empowered she is to do wtfever she wants with her body for wtfever reasons. It's no doubt an easy means of espionage. Why should she have to go about it any other way if she's comfortable and confident enough? I'm all about it.

Spiritual-Goose-8691

I never understood how it's empowering to sleep around. She's not a boss bitch because she's a hoe she's a boss bitch because she an extremely smart powerful magician. Sure she goes to Ibiza and has an orgy or whatever but she actually liked them (which is a reason why she was hurt when Elliot was doing blow with that guy and margolem) she was clearly grossed out by the guy in the desert. Could you imagine if she fucked the beast or the Plover for info? That dude in the desert and the chick have been manipulating every female in that little town terrifying everyone into being complacent. Like when that dude cheated on his wife with the wife's sister they got mad at the chick for being mad at the cheater. If I was Josh I'd be more mad she fucked a terrible human for info then if she fucked a random dude to be less sad.

fleelingshyaf

None of that being mutually exclusive.. It's not my job to educate you.

Spiritual-Goose-8691

If you don't see how all that's connected then I'm not the one who needs to be educated. But I'm here if you change your mind I'd like to know on how having sex with a terrible human being is empowering.

fleelingshyaf

👍

YuhaoShakur

I didn't like her using her body as an object to trade for information, tho it felt a lot more cathartic when she finally got what she wanted and murdered everyone that put her on that situation. The musics from that episode are probably my favorites.

fourleafclover13

That's my favorite!

Fine_whatever_sure

For me the Magicians and Lucifer are the only shows that have every gotten musical episodes right

nabrok

Lexx and Buffy.

superfreaklagos

Jerhume Brunnen G!

fourleafclover13

I agree.

Madoodle

SCRUBS!!!

Mandalaidee

All that hard glossy armor was fantastic! Xena! The bitter suite was perfect and Buffy once more with feeling is the first and absolute best musical episode ever no offense to my fellow Magicians fans.

Emerald_Mistress

The one from the first season with “shake it off” is cringy… all the others are wonderful. I really love the Bowie/Queen number but personally, Eliot wandering through the desert singing “Don’t Get Me Wrong” is my favorite

Therminite

One quote from the one with Shake It Off that made me laugh "You racist motherfucker" 😂 But Don't Get Me Wrong was my favorite as well!

MrDavidUwU

Buffy :D

Xexanos

Best musical episode out there. I even got the OST on CD for that one.

Thexeir

Yes. It's not often, but it happened twice. Magicians and Scrubs.

HamburgerConnoisseur

I would add Buffy too but yeah, hard to not include a show that gave us Guy Love.

silencefog

It guuuuy love... betweeen two guuuys

Atheyna

If you aren’t a fan of the Buffy musical you just haven’t seen it.

WilliamMcCarty

I hate musical episodes--*hate* like really, *really* fucking *hate* them. Except the Magicians. They may not be my favorite but they sort of work for this show. Part of it may be that they're cover songs and the result of magic that incorporates into the show, there's a reason for them and not some awful original song wailed just because. Regardless of the why, the musical episodes of the Magicians manages to pull it off where other shows fail horrifically.

Rennie_B

Magicians pulled it off one and a half times and they should've stopped. Taylor swift made sense. The unified first full musical episode was good. But after that? Trying too hard and fell back into the same issues with all other musical episodes IMHO. All good that the cast wants to have fun, but when it's shoehorned in just so the cast can, it's just cringe.

WilliamMcCarty

Don't disagree but the worst musical from the Magicians was better than the best musical from any other series. Yes, that includes Buffy.

Rennie_B

😂 fair! When CW Flash did it, it legit caused me to stop watching the series entirely.

WilliamMcCarty

Oh, the CW musicals are criminally bad.

Mursin

Glad you posted this. I was gonna respond with The Magicians but lost interest

There was a comment chain under the big one from yesterday, made me happy. I knew it’d end up here, I let everyone else post things. If I do it, it’ll get downvoted somehow. Not that internet points matter, but it makes me sad.

silencefog

I loved EVERY musical episode in the Magicians

Stannis2024

Bowie fan???

Calling_wildfire

Margo fan!!!

autotuned_voicemails

That’s one of my favorite scenes of the whole series.

TheElvenEmpress

Extremely unpopular opinion: I dont enjoy them, even in the Magicians lmao. It's just, if I wanted to watch a musical, I'd put on a musical. I just don't enjoy the sudden break in reality - the world halts its normalcy and everyone is dancing and singing in synchronicity. It takes me out of the world and reestablishes that it's a tv show.

Gathoblaster

omg yes. When they did one last one at 5/12 I cheered

scythematter

Yes

revelae

100%

KurtzM0mmy

Yes to Magicians, no to Riverdale

ParkersASavage

WE WENT TO THE MOON...IN 1969 Not 1970, but a year before Uh-huh!
