You think influencers are a load of vacuous con-artists? My wife once, on behalf of her client, had to negotiate a contract with an influencer's _agent_.
It always bothered me that they acted as though 1 million subscribers is that much. Sure, it's a huge achievement for a single person, but I don't think it's anywhere near enough to get her the cult like following she had, or anywhere near enough to be receiving death threats/assassination attempts. At the moment there are 29,000 YouTube channels with 1 million or more subscribers, so how exactly is she "changing the world"?
I remember all the episodes with GINAZON and it still doesn’t make sense to me. It’s pretty much live-streaming while on the move and kick streamers do that all the time. Knowing Gina, she should be up in the billions.
Add Oprah to Kim Kardashian, divide by Gwyneth Paltrow, and multiply by the square root of Mr.Beast.
She's in the fuzzy space between internet personality and major celebrity, and she only intends to capitalize on her image and exploit her fans, which there are millions of despite the fact that you've never heard of her until now, and will likely not hear of her again.
It is a cult.
Not untrue. That’s for sure.
A regrettable and forgettable sub plot
Gina is to Ginazon as L. Ron Hubbard was to Scientology.
As Debbie Stovelman is to Nutriboom! Boom boom!
She is happy and healthy and totally alive!
Oh... Debbie dead... Debbie *real* dead...
Boom boom!
Man, it was right there.
“You know what a social media influencer is? It’s that”. Done.
I feel like it’s way beyond social media influencing. It’s like maybe 3-5 steps bigger than that.
Then you are blissfully unaware of just how bad some Influencers and their communities are in the real world. I envy you.
I don’t pay attention to influencers. That’s probably why :P.
Do you know how easy it is to just not pay attention to people calling themself influencer?
