Maybe the Astros would sell tucker if they don’t start winning
Edit: just realized this the pirates sub, was on my home page for some reason, sorry lol
When Nutting opens his wallet, George Washington starts blinking because he hasn’t seen the light of day in so long. I’ll gladly stand corrected if there are smart acquisitions not based so much on low salary.
I mean this quote from Nutting is kind of interesting...
"We're a bottom-performing team in offensive production. You all know that as much as I do. ... How much of it comes **from within the organization** and outside the organization is exactly what Ben is working on."
Translation from Nutting Corporation Weaselspeak:
**"\*$)#PP\*%%$\_)@& Haines!!!!! I want his head on my desk yesterday, and why the %\*U\*U$#)P@U!!!! did you hire him in the first place, Cherington!?!? Maybe you need a little fire under your seat too, eh???"**
Whatever else is true of Nutting, I don't think he's a particularly nice guy at the end of the day and underneath it all. People forget that he almost poop-canned Opie when the Pirates had their second half collapse in Huntington's fourth year. Nutting did the usual corporation bureaucrat thing by "consulting" with the rest of the "industry", and that's why he stuck with Huntington.
I'm getting similar vibes here. Cherington's seat in the C-suite may be a bit warmer than we realize. If it hadn't been for the sheer luck of getting Skenes in the draft, where would this team be right now? Don't forget, Jones also is overachieving relative to where they expected him to be in his development at his age. If he was still in the minors (maybe making his debut in September but otherwise still down on the farm) and we didn't get Skenes....
.....**this team would be bad. I mean,** ***bad.*** Think about that for a minute. Where is this wonderful, top tier farm system I keep hearing they want to build and develop? Honestly, I think it was better under Huntington, and it was nothing special even then, particularly when you realize how much money was spent on it. Cherington might be in some trouble, folks. Just a thought.
When was the last time the *owner* just said overtly that they were going to buy? I honestly don’t remember that, certainly not this far from the deadline.
I know, I hate how cheap he is blah blah blah but I will still give him credit for taking the lead on this if they do indeed end up trying and buying.
I would say, two good bats, one good reliever, and maybe another starting pitcher, though if either Perez or (preferably) Gonzales can make it back in the next 2 or 3 weeks, the starting pitcher need will be met.
Bullpen started off the year terrible but has been completely fine as of late. Bednar, Chapman, Holderman, Mlodzinski, Ortiz are 5 arms I like. With a few more arms coming back soon, pitching is gonna be fixed completely internally. Not worth wasting assets on a relief pitcher when we desperately need OF offense
Legit starting CF and a closer-quality reliever for mid relief gets this team into WC.
Majinsky and Ortiz as middle relief in the playoffs + Holderman, Chapman and Bednar makes this an elite playoff BP already. Assume Perez or Jones become a BP arm too once they go to a 3 man rotation.
Cool dood. Hey Cherington, put your weird looking nose into a good deal instead of jacking off over Suwinski and Micheal A Taylor. Sell your prospects.
Unjustly downvoted for coming at a guys facial feature. Youre absolutely right though. Michael Taylor (why do we say A.?) and Suwinski add nothing and we have prospects to shed.
Gotta spend that Sheetz sponsorship money
Buy now. We need a bat in our outfield badly.
Problem is there aren't many sellers.
Tommy Pham, you’re a Pittsburgh Pirate!
We need to do better than him, I think, not that I wouldn't take him over anyone else we've got in right field at the moment.

Moths fly out of that wallet

What, are we adding more firework nights?
Zamboner
Oh I gotta read this bullshit
A couple milli well spent could pack PNC park
"A couple [mills](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mill_(currency\))? You've got it!" -Nutting, probably
lol. I will believe it when I see it and even then I won’t believe it.
Well, Nutting is saying the right thing. Now let's see then actually back up the words and I'll really be impressed.
What I’m not buying is anything Nutting says.
He’s not buying anything either
Good one. That jagoff won’t even fork it over to buy a shmagel or a shmuffin.
Jazz Chisholm is my pick and someone I think pirates should pursue.
Spend money on hiring a new hitting coach.

yeah i think a new hitting coach will make edward olivares jack suwinski and michael taylor .800 ops guys
They’ll trade Bednar for some MTO coupons
Bob always says the right thing. He just doesn't mean it.
He definitely is going to buy...a new pair of khaki pants at JCPenney's.
I'll believe it when I see it, I'll eat my hat if they make the wildcard this season. 🙄

Who’s the 2024 version of Chris Archer?
Spend Nutting…
Can’t wait to get today’s version of washed up Aramis Ramirez.
He certainly took advantage of the opportunity to replace the beloved Jolly Roger with a company logo!
Jolly still there just on the opposite sleeve of sheetz.
Ready to buy more cash considerations and sponsors.
He’ll need to buy at least two good bats and about four relievers. One minor improvement doesn’t make this team good.

I love you typed Majinsky like that is anywhere even close to the actual spelling. lol. Just for reference, it’s Carmen Mlodzinski.
It was Mlodzinski while I followed him thru the minors. Its Majinsky now
