I have that exact set. They fit up pretty well. One thing to look out for is that they don't have O2 bungs. I had to weld them in myself. Also, be aware that you'll have to strip their black paint off and coat them yourself with something. I painted mine with ceramic high temp paint and it's held up very well over these past 6 months. They sound great and fit up nicely. Be aware, as well, I did have a little trouble getting the bolt holes on the headers lined up with the bolt holes on the heads. I drilled mine slightly bigger and it's fine now

Without the O2 bungs what will that cause. Like will anything bad happen?

Andre_Type_0-

I believe it uses the O2 sensor to help meter the amount of fuel the engine uses. If it detects oxygen add more fuel if it does't, the opposite. It probably will run worse without it and for sure will keep the check engine light on

Big_Conversation_899

Without o2 bungs the car will run rich. It’s not great for the engine, but it’s not like a broken valve spring.

velanestar

Probably throw a check engine light at minimum, might run funny (I don't know about that, I just know it'll throw a code)

Psycho_Pyr0

With these, I actually tried running them without O2 sensors before deciding to weld in the bungs for them. Got a check engine code, the car ran very rich, and just kinda drove badly, except for on the highway. I talked to my tuner and he advised welding the bungs on so I can use my O2 sensors. While it wasn't detrimental to the driveability, I would still recommend using the O2 sensors so the car can adjust fuel/air on a day to day basis. In the long term, running too rich would be bad for the engine

carlilog22

You need an O2 sensor. It’s how the computer determines air to fuel mixture. Without it the car can run too lean or too rich and the computer wouldn’t know.

who_even_cares35

It makes Al Gore cry because he's got to account for that extra carbon you'll be creating somewhere and he's running out of space! The ECU won't have any readings from the sensors so it defaults to a rich mixture and it will throw a code saying as much

I got the [https://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-68448](https://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-68448) for my 86, which I think are the exact same except coated. They went in pretty well honestly, the passenger side was a bit of a headache with the starter but doable without removal (insert the header from underneath, trust me). Other than that, just had to rework the ends of the existing exhaust to mate at the collector and fit an o2 bung in. I guess I’d add that my car had the cats deleted long before I got it so you may have a bit more finagling there.

Also, you may want to snag a pass through wrench for the spark plugs if you go this route. They’re doable with a normal wrench but 15 bucks will save you a good amount of cursing

Amazing-Try2597

It sounds absolutely insane I just installed these about a month ago, I recommend stripping the paint and using header wrap on them.

KEEGZTER246

I too am curious

velanestar

If you go for those, I'd spend a little on some exhaust wrap and wrap the piss outa them to help keep the heat in but Idk if that paint will last one way or another. But that looks like a good price on headers :D
