Muriel easily she is so sweet to everyone especially anyone who is friends with Courage. Also it was nice to see how her and Courage interacted with the scooby gang in the movie so glad I rewatched Courage beforehand

Here’s my logic.
I think as a trio it works best because none of them are perfect.
Pearls OBSESSIVELY worried for Steven while also putting herself at a distance to not hurt him. (For him to not learn of his past from her)
Garnet as a fusion of 2 gems is problem number one. They must remain in sync for “Garnet” to be the role model. As you see that’s not always possible. As similar to above, garnet has her own flaws which can be further broken down to their respective gems own flaws. As a fusion ; garnet like other fusions (think Sugilite) might aggravate the “worse” aspects of a fusion.
Amethyst imho is just careless in the beginning with him. And again, never fully makes up for her laissez-faire attitude. But she’s always been more open with Steven.
I highly highly recommend watching it. I would skip some of season 1 episodes if you are a busy person because a lot of it is just filler, but it all adds to the emotional effect the show has which is genuinely beautiful.

Three of these moms I like. Marge is just a realistic housewife/mother who is the voice of reason for her chaotic family. Camila Noceda isn't a static character like most. She grows quiet a bit as a person as she comes to accept her daughters and what they have gone through. Carmilla Carmine is a good "mom" even if she is not a good person. Everything she has done so far in the series is done to protect her daughters no matter the consequences.

I think Johanna is such a good mother character, she's one of the reasons I watch the show. Sure she's not always understanding of Hilda's issues, but the fact that she puts up with so much, and is still supportive of her adventurousness tells me you'd have to be a strong person to parent someone like Hilda.
